Staying in tune with a post made by an anonymous figure about recognition, I figured I'd revive this. At first I thought, just bump the old thread...but then I realized by bumping an old one you prevent people from posting because they'll just see they said it before and won't do it again.
So how about a fresh start? Who is it you admire on the NTWF? In fact, let's expand it, who do you think deserves a special bit of recognition for something they've done that no one else saw or realized, but you think they deserve a special thanks for it?
Go wild. I'd add my own, but I need to get going for work. So you all get started, eh?

Well that was a hellish day. >.>
Anyway, I'll start it off with one person until I can think again.
I think Tdyans needs a bit of recognition and thanks for something she does and, well, it's almost taken forgranted. Single-handedly taking care of these NT Writers Awards as far as fielding nominations, tabulating votes, etc. She's all ready got a life and real job, and yet she's managed this for at least 3 years now (I only know of three of 'em). She does so, and while everyone's focused on questions, nominations and whether they've been nominated or not, she just sits there silently.
I think she deserves a special thank you beyond that sort of arbitrary way that is done. n.n;

I really have to thank Schefferla, she has been such a great help with my stories, often being the only one to read them. She deserves a huge THANK YOU.
I would also like to thank Patjade. She keeps the boards running smoothly and cleanly along with all the other moderators out there. She updates's people titles, which seems like a lot of hassle. Thank you Patjade.

I admire the silleh people (Sock, Char, Blub, Eggz, Emm, Sammy, Cow, Eri, Ery, ...) I admire the wise people (Yes Stal, even you, the voice of reason...) and I admire those who are just them, because being them is what makes the forum so much brighter.
...
That includes everyone.

I admire Stal, Kiddo, and Ginger, first off, because they are usually very mature and kind.
Erika, Carrie, Blub, and Eggz, because they are a lot of fun to be around.
Patjade, along with every other mod and admin out there. They deserve mucho credit for the way this site runs and what an amazing place it is...
And that's pretty much it right now. I probably forgot a few people, so I'll be back.

People, just because I made the thread doesn't mean you have to list me or feel obligated to. Seriously. I know there are a few people who genuinely think highly of me (I feel sorry for them) but other's, eh...well, if you think that way honestly go with it, but don't feel obligated to put my name--I don't want it.

I admire Stal, Kiddo, and Ginger, first off, because they are usually very mature and kind. Mature? Where on earth did that come from? I admire Tdyans and Patjade because in a way, they're my role models. I'm younger than them and it's wonderful to have someone I can look up to and know that hey, they're really cool people and I can be a really cool person too. If that makes any sense at all. Just read my mind already. I also admire Crystal for being so upbeat and easy to talk to. Even if she does frighten me on many occassions. And I like a heckuva lot of people here and count many of you as my friends. But those three are the ones I look up to and would want to be like in many ways.

She does so, and while everyone's focused on questions, nominations and whether they've been nominated or not, she just sits there silently. I think she deserves a special thank you beyond that sort of arbitrary way that is done. n.n; Thank you, Stal. I really do appreciate it. Though I should make some minor corrections on three points: First, this is only my second year running the awards. It was originally Chimesjon who thought them up and ran them, and I know I've said this before but if it wasn't for people letting me know how much they enjoyed them, I wouldn't have continued them last year after he left nor would I have started them again this year. So I have to say that I admire those people-- sometimes just a small comment can make a big difference. Second, while I do a lot, I can't claim to run them "single-handedly". I get a lot of help with the little behind-the-scenes details from my guild members and of course people here have helped to spruce it up with songs and pictures. So, there's another group of people that I admire. And third? "She's all ready got a life..." Ha! And Kiddo, thank you to you, too. Although you may be younger than me, the feeling is otherwise more than mutual. Anyway, I'd like to add that I admire Thegreenmooseofdoom. She's a spectacular artist, of course, but what I really admire her for is her willingness to lend that skill to helping others improve theirs. She's always been willing to take time to offer a redline on someone's picture or hunt down some good reference pictures, sources on anatomy, and other helpful information. She's been a great example of how to give a good critique even before we started concentrating more on that aspect in our art section of the forum. Though I'm no artist, I've always appreciated and admired that.

There's too many people to list, and I'm admissably lazy, so I'll just say that everyone at some point earned my admiration.
After all, this is a hive of creative minds and artisans at work.

Comedian, if it was closed down for those reasons (which I doubt) I have some serious problems with it. Just because some people would get hurt feelings from it doesn't mean we shouldn't still recognize those that need the recognition, correct? Besides, hurt feelings are a part of life, and if we were so worried about those then we should shut down everything. The RPG, the stories people write, the collabs people do, the NT awards, because they can all lead to hurt feelings as well...
Not everyone is going to view people in the same light as others. If a person's ego cannot take that, then I'm sorry, but they needed the reality check. And perhaps there's a reason people weren't mentioned, simply as forgetting or it being too personal. There's many people who know about what I think of them, and if they know, and i have my personal reasons for it, I don't want to blast it to the forum.... *shrugs* But shutting something down simply because it can lead to hurt feelings I have a major problem with...

I thought the original was closed down due to feelings getting hurt... Well, hopefully people are mature enough to handle it this time around.
