I'd just like to see how influential / changing Neopets has been to some people (or if I'm the only person that takes the site seriously..) other then myself.
Throughout my time on the site, I've found that my grammatical and spelling skills have gotten a lot better. Due to roleplaying, my English skills have improved, also. I think Neopets has also had an effect on my manners online and offline, because publications and chat boards have sent a lot of Neomails my way. I've had to learn how to respond politely, and hey, I have also gotten a few new friends, too.
Also, I had no IDEA what HTML was before I began playing Neopets. Now I'm the only one in my class (scaryscary) that knows XHTML, CSS, etc.
And writing for the Neopian Times, too. I can now write reports for school easily in 20 minutes due to the time I have spent writing articles (or at least trying to).

I probably wouldn't have even bothered learning html etc. if I didn't know that Neopets allowed you to use your skill amongst the site.
I also wouldn't have met you guys, improved in my writing by a million, and be kind online. My computer art would also be very low. o.O;;
I like Neopets. (nice conclusion, huh ^__^?)

My pets seem very real to me. Even if they're only bunches of pictures, they're real. I spend most of my spare time on it or on these forums. I've also written a lot more. I've always written a lot, but it's mince to have this little world to write about. ;D
I've learned a tad of HTML and CSS for it as well. I already knew the basic stuff for HTML before I came here, but I hadn't even heard of CSS.
Umm...there are probably a lot of other ways, but I can't remember them.

Oh, my english writing skils were extremelly boosted! Also my grammar, spelling, and overal knownlage of your language. Is that why I got an A in my First Certificate exam? ;D Plus, I got some friends, and got into some neat debates here, in NTAG and through neomail. Really spiffy. ;D

I had no idea what HTML was before Neopets, either...plus I hardly ever went online. My mom calls those "The good ol' days...when I could use my phone line without having to kick you off". Hehe, oh well. I made a lot of new friends, and yes, learned some new skills. What they are...hm, not sure. But I think my love for writing has greatly increased ;D
Oh, but the biggest thing, is that my insanity level has sprung off the charts! FWEE! ;D

I've learnt HTML and CSS (some, anyway) and picked up a better understanding of how the Internet etc works.
I know I can write and I know I will be able to succeed at it if I try. I can write to a word and time limit and my writing continues to improve.
I also have met a lot of people - mostly nice, which has restored my faith in human nature (I'm a bit cynical).

I never heard of HTML or CSS either. Now I can [barely] do some basic stuff in HTML. (Can't say the same thing about CSS! : The HTML is helping me, because I'm starting to make my own Webpage now! Also, my grammar, etc. has gotten better. ;D

With Neopets, or this forum to be more exact, I'm a lot more hyped and act . . . childish ;D Less tempered too, but quite annoying

Trying to code Maki's petpage originally got me interested in HTML and CSS - I don't think I'd be having half as much fun in Web Design class if I wasn't trying to code that page at the same time. My writing skills and ability to express myself through words have gotten a lot better, as well as the ability to cope with rejection (always handy!) With a little more practice I should be able to get ideas to come to me more easily instead of just lounging around until one hits me. I've also learned some lessons from various people - don't put too much faith in first impressions, don't respond to something before you've thought it through entirely, and so on. If it weren't for the Neopian Times I would have quit Neopets nearly half a year ago, would be a lot less confident, wouldn't have much to do on weekends except sit at home and do my homework, and basically just be back to my sad old role of silent observer in the corner.

- I've learned a decent ammount of HTML and CSS.
- My typing has gotten a bit better... from my early days on Neopets when I actually RPed in the chat boards.
- I've met some extent of people and have become more... interesting...(personality wise)
- I get more neomails than letters/e-mails these days, and most of them are positive!
- Umm... My art skill has improved because I've been trying to get into the Art Gallery...and seem to be on a treadmill going nowhere...
- Unfortunately, It's become more addicting to me... So addiciting that I'm on for hours before I get started on my homework and tend to stay up later...

Lets see, how has Neopets changed me? Well first, I 'd say the friendships. I have met some of the most wonderful people on here. Including you all of course... And I too went from totally computer challenged to at least I can turn it on now... Actually, I can now do html and css. Talk about things ya never thought would happen! Plus, if that isn't off enough for me, I now want to learn how to put computers together...lol My ability to write and shyness of sharing my work has improved. I spend much less time watching tv... ...lol There's probably more, but I can't think of it right now. *hugs* Lis

Well, aside from learning HTML, I'd say I've met a LOT of new people. Because guilds really do connect people. All you have to do is find and interest, and bada bing bada boom, you're chatting with other people on the guild message board! If it wasn 't for all of the people I met on Neopets, I probably wouldn't be The Angry Artist or Mastermund. Those I thought up on NeoPetd. With over 30 million users, you're bound to fit in someplace.
