I'm doing well. Currently in the prep stage for my Masters dissertation. How's about you? What you been up to? It is a very good place indeed. There's a good community here, like nowhere else. That's awesome, congrats! What is the dissertation on/what field are you studying? I remember when we were both just going off to college/uni... oh boy. I've been working for a few years, was planning to apply to grad school this year but the current events have put a bit of a wobble in my plans so we'll see what now. Hey Kath! So glad to see you here. <3 Haha definitely Kathkitty, it's my favourite. Been so long since I've gone by that name... or Kath/Kathleen for that matter. Feels strange. Good times. :3 I'm reminded of how much my kid self loved the Bartimaeus Trilogy, to choose the name Kathleen for the internets. xD

I've been working on a Masters in Museum and Gallery Studies, so my dissertation is going to be on storytelling around human remains in museums and whether it retains the humanity of the subject. So, exciting but morbid. And yes, time flies. I remember I was but a wee undergrad when you hung around here last. Oof, yes, current events are...well, the exhibition we had to put on for the degree is shut at the moment and all my volunteer opportunities are gone so I definitely relate. Hopefully you can apply when all this is over. =( What subject were you hoping to study?

Ah yes, those were the days, 'bloids exploded and we didn't have the mythical "like", although the status update is really just the text under your avatar. Storytelling is still a thing but it's under new management and now they only release one winning entry a day, so stories are much shorter. (My old style of entering and winning won't fly nowadays, my winning entries tended to get really long.) Poetry, under the same new management, is also still a thing but rejection letters barely show up so I feel like all my poems that didn't make it into the galleries without rejection letters have just been stowed into the database. Hopefully. It's been hard to get back into both lately especially after I got punched in the face with hefty NT inspiration after being away from the NT for so long. The old Poetry judge was so nice... she used to leave me little personal notes in the acceptance/held-over neomails, and accepted a lot of my wildest poems, I think it had gotten a lot more rigid by the time I quit though (just after New Mgmt TM, or maybe 1st New Mgmt) seemed everything that won rhymed. Storytelling had some of the best writers, you included, it's a little said it's so limited now. I'm glad you've got inspiration for the NT again, though! That's awesome. Right? She also indulged our wildest ideas...one of my fondest memories of the Poetry Competition was the NTWF campaigning for and then getting a 15-poem NQII gallery. (Yeah, I know I had a hand in that, as expected of me.) I rarely submitted non-rhyming poems, usually those were haiku collections, but those managed to get in along with my bad attempts at sonnets. Oops. I think they may be trying to be more inclusive, also with Storytelling. Or maybe my old poetry muse hasn't returned in full force. (Again, because I'm determined to slap myself back into the NT.) Kath, you flatter me, haha. Although yeah, the old Storytelling contests do take me back and slap me with nostalgia feels.

I'm so sorry, that must be very rough, hopefully you're getting along all right with online-only work despite it all. I'm actually planning on applying to medical school (ironic, I know!), but there's been cancellations of the admissions exam dates among other things. I just keep telling myself that a year or two delay is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things though, much as it feels otherwise sometimes haha... Right? Yeah, I remember that!! (And it was a cool gallery). She was quite awesome, really miss all the old TNT. I don't know why, I always enjoyed free verse and playing around with style - Neo really got me way into poetry, I'm now one of those weird people who loves to read it. But it's true haha! Yeah, so many feels. Almost makes me want to try getting my Neopets account back. I can't remember when it became mysteriously frozen, but it seems like weird account disabling's been a trend for a long time. Stephanie (swordlilly) - hi! I remember you for sure, although we maybe didn't talk all that much. So glad to see another person drop in after all this time!

so many feels. Almost makes me want to try getting my Neopets account back. I can't remember when it became mysteriously frozen, but it seems like weird account disabling's been a trend for a long time. There are many reasons why your account could have been frozen - some hacker could've tried to get into it during your absence, for example, and the system could've frozen the account to protect it. Definitely try to get it back! Just send an email to support@neopets.com with as much of this info as you remember: - username - date of birth - email on the account - email used to create the account (if different) - city where the account was created - NC purchase history and then post your ticket number on the "Highway to Help" thread here: www.neopets.com/neoboards/topic.phtml?topic=160538583A member of the support staff will get back to you. I've heard of people getting their accounts back within just a few days! Good luck ^^

Yeah, Kath. I had to go through that process myself a few months back and as long as I knew my email, I was golden. The problem was that by the time I got my account back, all my NP was gone, and I lost a number of rare, expensive and/or retired items. A hacker or more probably managed to get their grubby paws on it while I was gone for years and years. I really hope that isn't the case for you.

It is something I have been pondering for a while so I am both excited and scared to write it. I really hope museums will be open by the time I have to tackle it because I want to work with actual collections. Oof, that is rough, I'm sorry. A year or two will not matter in the grand scheme of things, especially since you are deferring due to events beyond your control. But I get how much it sucks to wait. I hope, despite the delay, you manage to get in!

*waves to returning members* I joined about 6 1/2 years ago, and mostly lurk, so even if you were around then, you probably don't remember me. I've been a long time member of Neopets. Still have my original account from 2001, which is fun.

Thank you for the tips, Stephanie (swordlilly) and Kat ! They actually got back to me super quickly and I can now go wander around my old haunts again and relive the good old days haha :o Hi, Allison ! Nice to meet you. That's amazing, I definitely do not have any info for my very first account from 2003 or so... I didn't start playing seriously until a couple years later with a new account to avoid my baby self's poor name decisions. :p
