Sherrie nodded along to Ray's plan of getting titanium umbrellas and moving west. He was the expert, after all. She listened attentively... that was, until she felt the tiny lizard feet materializing on top of her head. "Agh! Get it off, get it off!" She shook her head vigorously, going against Ray's advice. However, the lizard had a firm grasp on her hair and didn't seem to budge. Defeated, she turned to look at Ray again, with his own head lizard, and decided it didn't make a bad hair accessory after all, provided it wouldn't make her hair matted or anything like that. Perhaps it'd become a new trend. Sherrie loved being a trendsetter! "Where are these lizards coming from? Are they your pets? Or is it raining lizards now?" As soon as she asked, a small rain cloud drifted by where she stood, but instead of materializing more lizards, it dropped the biggest puzzle piece Sherrie had ever seen at her feet. "What now?" Intrigued, she bent to pick it up, not worrying about the lizard on her head anymore. It was pretty clear to her it was staying put for now. She turned it over to see it was solid red on the other side. "Huh..." she said, showing the piece to Ray. I don't think I'm surprised by anything anymore, but what could this mean?" Sherrie is startled by the lizard who just materialized on her head, but she soon resigns herself to the idea that it's there to stay and embraces it as a trendy hair accessory. Then, she is distracted by a mysterious puzzle piece a cloud drops at her feet.

As Era eagerly shook and waved their puzzle piece through the air, they suddenly noticed it doing something strange: The more they waved it, the more the picture on one side melted together with the red color on the back. And like sand sifting in some kind of peculiar Etch A Sketch, finally the images mixed and filtered down--and had swapped onto the opposite sides of the puzzle piece. Era caught a glimpse of a very small distortion in the space above them as manic laughter was heard and quickly faded--maybe a mischievous aery spirit of some kind. How wonderful and bizarre! WE’RE SO SORRY, Gelquie, your puzzle piece accidentally got flipped during our creation process, and we didn’t catch it until now! D= ...But hey, let’s just roll with it, shall we? xD As Era shakes their puzzle piece in the air, the two sides ~*magically*~ and ~*mysteriously*~ switch.

Taffy noticed the Owl first. The startled Guinea Pig buried her nose into the crook of Jess' arm to hide. Jess looked down at at Taffy, then noticed the owl that had landed on Cass. "Oh, yeah, I know this owl, he belongs to the Tea Witch! I forget her name, but the owl's name is Who-long. I think because he tends to have long 'who' sounds? I don't know." Taffy kept trying to ineffectively hide in Jess' arm. Jess picked up her satchel and placed the Guinea Pig inside, where she was silent and still. Taffy safe, Jess turned her attention back to the owl. "Yeah, he does seem to be interested in the puzzle pieces. Maybe the Tea Witch has some answers. Who-long, lead the way!" Taffy notices H-oolong Celestial first, while Jess introduces Cass Kat to "Who-long" (because Jess has yet to be introduced to awesome tea puns). With Taffy tucked safely away in the satchel, Jess invites the owl to lead the way to the Tea Witch.

(Rachel's parts written by Rabbit ♠ .) Evi briefly compared his piece to the ones held by Princess and Rachel. "Mine doesn't really look like yours, and I don't think mine directly connects to any of yours." A cat came up to Princess Sunshine and meowed loudly. Evi took a step back -- yes, he was skeptical of black cats. He hoped whatever magic held between Rachel and Sunshine would outdo any potential bad luck, but he still wanted to maintain his distance. "Hey there. Sorry, I'm a bit busy," she said, before noticing that Purr-eh was looking at the puzzle piece in her hand. Did the cat know something about these puzzle pieces? "Wait, have you seen more of these?"Well, this was an interesting development. "Yeah," he agreed. "There probably are a bunch more of these -- a whole puzzle's worth, I'm sure." He glanced at the cat again. "I think it's best if we spread out." “Evi, darling, do you really want to go out there with nothing to protect yourself?” Rachel asked. “There’s enough space under Bella,” she pointed up to her umbrella, “for the three of us AND the cat.” She looked down at her feet and kicked a golfball. “You know I’m starting to really miss that glitter. At least that’s not as harmful as it is annoying.” "OK, OK," he sighed with a semi-sarcastic smile. "Anything for you." Its ability to stretch out to unimaginable size was one of its better tricks, and being safe under Bella would at least allow him to continue taking photos without the chance of damaging his equipment. He took some perfect photos of the golf balls falling from the sky, including some just hitting the earth with a light motion blur on their rebound. Nice. Maybe even Not The Wildest Flower-worthy. The trio cautiously began to walk around with the cat in tow. Rachel kept her eyes down, both to look for random golf balls and to examine that puzzle piece some more. This day kept getting weirder and weirder and weirder. “Hey! Did anyone else get a puzzle piece?! Also, weather people, I need to talk to you!”“Hmm? What’s that?” Rachel looked around. She saw some person calling out to others while waving something in their hands. She walked over to the person. “You needed a weather person?” Her eyes focused on the object in their hand. “Is that another puzzle piece?” Evi joins Rachel ( Rabbit ♠), Princess Sunshine ( PFA), and Purr-eh ( Celestial) (whom he is somewhat afraid of) under Rachel's umbrella, Bella! They compare pieces and start to walk to search for others who may have pieces. Rachel hears Era ( Gelquie) shouting for weather people, and naturally she is inclined to reply.

The flight had arrived a few minutes before and sat idly at one of the gates. In the arrivals area of the terminal, a small bell rang, and the tiny luggage carousel began to move. A display board clattered above it to inform the scattered people waiting patiently for the bags arriving on National/Worldwide Transport Federation flight from Wrighton. The conveyor snaked around for a few minutes with no luggage, a little annoyingly, before the bags began to appear. At first only in ones and twos, until a steady stream disgorged the rest of the luggage from a chute. People stared intently keeping an eye out for their particular bag. One by one, each person collected their belongings and walked across to the glass pane doors where friends, family members, and taxis waited to return people into the town. The last two items on the belt were noticed by only a few passengers fleetingly. A single puzzle piece, bearing no checked luggage tag. The belt continued to rotate the piece around the now empty arrivals lobby before it came to a stop. A woman, Lucy Talmin, the airline representative usually used to dealing with lost luggage claims and their ticked off passengers, noticed the piece sitting unclaimed on the carousel. She was puzzled. The piece didn't have a luggage tag, how would she find out who it belonged to? She pulled out the manifest for that particular flight. There was a small box bound for MagiCourier. Well whenever something fell out of those boxes it always looked odd and out of place. It would explain why it didn't have a luggage tag. She made a mental note to telephone them in the morning to have it picked up. Some mysterious unclaimed luggage appears at the airport

Tea Witch. "Who-long". Cassidy snorted and let out a laugh. Hanging out with Jess and Taffy, as well as this new knowledge and the prospect of finding out more about these mysterious puzzle pieces dropping out of the sky, was rapidly lifting her mood. Perhaps this healer would be the one to introduce Jess to the magic of tea puns. "I think it's because there's a kind of tea called oolong," Cassidy explained before attempting to imitate an owl. "Whoooo-long." She cleared her throat and looked at the tawny owl, shrugging the shoulder where it was perched as though prompting it to do as Jess said, and lead the way to potentially more puzzle pieces, and also more information. "I hope the Tea Witch really does have some answers, because all my healing lessons did not prepare me for something like this." Cassidy explains tea puns to Jess ( June Scarlet) and waits for "Who-long" to lead them to the Tea Witch ( Celestial).

Era was only a few seconds into waving when they glanced up at their puzzle piece and noticed… something… happening. They had to stare, absently waving it, as the colors shifted, and reformed to the other side… And then a distortion in the air, and a laugh. That. Was. The coolest thing ever! It was a hint; it was a huge hint! A puzzle piece that can change, and alter the air around it! For sure they were holding onto this one! Unless… It did change the more they waved it… What if… They got color-shifting powers?...And the ability to create air distortions and menacing laughs with no source, apparently? Whatever; they’d take it! They’d have to test it first, though, whether it was from them, or whether it truly was a hint. Maybe if-- “You needed a weather person?” Rachel eyes focused on the object in their hand. “Is that another puzzle piece?”“Apparently! Oh also, hi!” Era called out, startled. Even better! Calling out like they did actually worked this time! “First, did you see that, did you see what this puzzle piece did? It changed! Or I changed it! I wonder if I can do it again! But you said another. I was thinking! Maybe we could get as many as we can and put them together. Maybe it means something! I’m telling you, I’m onto something!” Era called out to the whole square. “ HEY! If you got a puzzle piece, come here! Or get a big table and yell when you find one! Let’s try and put these pieces together!” Era held onto their puzzle piece as they waited for others to approach. “Anyway, yes, why I called you!” They pointed to Rachel. “Weather station, right? I’m Era Newton. I operate the weather recording station on Strata Hill and send in the data from there. And I’m on this case, believe you me! And sending as much data in as I can. I hope it’s been helpful!” Era paused. “But I need your help.” They pulled up the picture of the broken anenometer on their phone and showed it to Rachel. “The golfball rain broke my anemometer. And it’s the worst time to do so, think of all the data lost! Can you tell me who at the station I can talk to about buying or borrowing a replacement, or can I talk to you if it’s you? I’d order it, but I’m in a hurry, and also, they’re kinda expensive, and I just wanna see if you have it, and these are too interesting times to not have it!” Another pause. “Also, do you or anyone nearby happen to have a decorative plate on hand? Or something flat but with a design? I need to test if the puzzle piece’s change is from me. I’ll give it right back!” Era thinks the plate changing is either a Major Hint, or they’ve developed powers!! They’re eager either way!! They also ask if Rachel ( Rabbit ♠) or Evi ( RielCZ) (if he's there? I couldn't tell) saw that. They take a moment to call EVERYONE IN HEARING RANGE to come together and put their puzzle pieces together. (If someone wants to start putting pieces together in-game, assume Era will hand theirs over or set theirs down.) Era then assaults Rachel with a huge ramble full of questions; sorry Rachel! Basically, Era wants to see about getting an anemometer replacement from the weather station, and if she can help or if she can point her in the right direction. They show her a picture of the bent-up anenometer. Then Era asks for a decorative plate to test their potential abilities. Cause y’know, that’s the kind of thing people just carry around casually.

Ray Nextpected covered his mouth as Sherrie ignored his advice and shook about a bit. He sighed in relief when she relaxed, unaware he’d been holding his breath. He shrugged at Sherrie’s first question. It was not the time to shake his head. The lizard had fallen asleep in his hair. “They. Are not. My pets,” he said, brushing his brown hair out of his eyes. He absentmindedly ran two fingers over the sleeping lizard’s back. “I didn’t see any strange clouds that dropped them,” he added, “They j-j-just appeared out of nowhere! And now instead of getting an ounce of peace, I have to get these things into some kind of a proper habitat. That is, if it won’t teleport back where it came from. I...I have no lizardkeeping experience to speak of.” He then noticed a familiar individual shouting for the weather crew. They might have been a very enthusiastic viewer? One of the citizen scientists who sent data to the station on occasion? Well, they’d definitely exchanged a few awkward waves from afar before, but their name escaped him. He felt sure about this hunch, jerked his head in their direction, ready to answer to the duty of a weatherman. Then he remembered he had stormed out of his job, so he was unsure if he was up for filling that particular role. Before he could make up his mind about going, a stray cloud spat out a giant jigsaw piece towards his conversation partner. When Sherrie showed it to him, he took a long look at it, and was at a loss when she asked him if he knew what it meant. He glanced again at the giant jigsaw piece in her hand and said, “I don’t know. It’s a puzzle to me. Ominous dark clouds, it looks like.” A second, identical lizard appeared on his head. He sighed. If he stayed in that spot, he felt certain more lizards would appear on the both of them. And this was the last push he needed to go help the person who had called for his assistance. He motioned for Sherrie to follow him. By the time he arrived, he noticed that another member of his (former, he reminded himself) station had already stepped up to help. This was Ms. Leewind, who had gathered with several other members of the town he had only passing familiarity with. He knew the photographer from a few publicity shoots at the Uffnewt Weather Station, and there was a girl in a costume of some kind with a black cat. Ray remembered seeing a poster for something like this once. Seafarer Luna? Presently, the citizen scientist was talking with Ms. Leewind at a mile a minute, and suddenly asked for a plate, of all things. To test the puzzle piece’s change? What change? And why a decorative dinner plate, outdoors? Ray thought vaguely about his earlier weather prediction for giant truck-sized meatballs being driven by Meepits. He sure hoped that was far-fetched, but honestly, who even knew anymore. At least Meepits weren’t out there somewhere corralling a giant buffet of food yet. “It’s not a solid plate, but if it’s for citizen science, I can loan my tie for a surface area, I suppose,” Ray offered. His storm radar paisley tie was already loosened around his neck from when he had walked out of the office. Ray denies owning lizards. He then hears Gelquie calling and debates helping them. Though first interrupted by Ginz ❤ ’s falling puzzle piece, he decides to help when a second lizard appears. He goes to help Era and offers for Sherrie to come. He sees that Rabbit ♠ was there first, but offers Era his tie, FOR SCIENCE! ( PFA , RielCZ , and Celestial ’s Purr-eh are present).

H-oolong was a little annoyed when Cassidy did not seem to know who he was. He was the Tea Witch's own familiar! Surely everyone would know him! At least the guinea pig's owner seemed to recognise him, but she did not know the origin of his name! The very nerve. Was the next strange weather phenomenon draining everyone of all respect? The owl preened himself rather forcefully, trying to convey his annoyance. Occassionally, he glanced at the guinea pig, wondering whether the tasty morsel would be worth attracting the wrath of the owner. Probably not but he could dream. At least the girl who did not recognise him knew his name. The owl nodded and gave a long "hoo-woohoohoo" call in response. Oh, yes, the puzzle pieces that he had been tasked to find. H-oolong gave another hoot and took off from the new stranger girl's shoulders. Maybe Aggie did not have the answers but at least she had good tea and cake. This girl seemed to need something like that. And he could do with some cake: it would distract him from wanting to eat that guinea pig. He flew back towards Aggie, occassionally checking the two with the puzzle pieces were following him. He had no idea what she wanted with the puzzles but perhaps she could make sense of it. He was only a familiar, albeit a handsome, elegant, grand and intelligent familiar. *** Purr-erh, well, purred as Sunshine scratched her. Yes, this was good. This was normal: attention from the shiny girl. Normal was nice during this crazy time. Another person approached them and immediately stepped away from Purr-erh. This was no good! Everyone needed to love and appreciate her. The cat peeled herself away from Sunshine and tangled herself around Evi's legs, purring. He also had an umbrella: good. He could keep her silky smooth fur dry- or in this case, safe from being bruised by these hideous golf balls. Honestly, this weather was something else. Did it not have any sense of decorum? A rather loud person approached them. Purr-erh recognised them as a rather loud, weather-obsessed person. Aggie sometimes invited them for tea and cake (usually cloud tea and lemon drizzle) but whenever that happened, Purr-erh hid. She was not a fan. But this loud weather person had puzzle pieces. And they needed a decorative plate. Aggie always had tea saucers. The cat wound her tail around Evi's legs and purred before slowly trying to guide them all in Aggie's direction. Even the loud one. Aggie liked the loud one, for whatever reason, and the puzzle needed to be put together...just Purr-erh will be soundly with the scared person, trying to comfort them in this trying time. Hoo-long is very annoyed that Cassidy( Kat) does not recognise him and that Jess( June Scarlet) does not understand his name. How dare?! But he takes them over in Aggie's direction. Meanwhile Purr-erh likes Sunshine's( PFA) attention. She naturally gloms onto Evi( RielCZ), the person who dislikes the cat, but is not a fan of Era( Gelquie) because they are loud. However, Aggie needs them all so she tries to guide them to her, especially since she has a decorative plate for Era. (also a tag for Rabbit ♠ who I could not figure out a reaction to)

Their search for more puzzle pieces didn't take very long, as the group soon ran into another person who was excitedly waving a puzzle piece in the air. They said something about how their puzzle piece had changed? Princess Sunshine looked down at her own puzzle piece, but it seemed to be the same as it was earlier. Weird. "I was thinking! Maybe we could get as many as we can and put them together. Maybe it means something! I’m telling you, I’m onto something!""Yes! I, too, came to that conclusion!" Princess Sunshine put in. "I have a theory that this puzzle holds the key to solving this wacky weather. If we can find the source, then maybe I can put a stop to it!" The person, who introduced themself as Era Newton, went on to say that they were studying the weather. Perfect, another weather expert in their midst! Princess Sunshine waited for a break in the conversation (it took a while; Era had a lot to say) before asking, "By the way, I don't suppose you've found anything to suggest a source for this recent weather phenomenon? Besides the puzzle pieces?" Princess Sunshine is excited to meet another weather expert! ( Gelquie) She asks Era if they have any data to suggest a source of the wacky weather.

The first day had been fun, with shinies falling from the sky! Children all over town had gone out to play, and Rose had also gone for a walk. They had always been good around kids and knew how to play gently. The shinies had been very sticky, and so playtime had been followed by a dreaded bath. Rose had been a very good enby for that too, only scrambling out of the tub once to run wildly through the house and shake glitter all over the sofa, because what else was bath time for? As good as they were with bath time, surprise bath time was not something Rose could ever endorse. They did not have quite as much fun with the second day's up-pour while delivering glittery newspapers. And then everyone's gardens were wrecked and dry and frosty and Rose could do no digging, and everyone was late for work and there was no newspaper, and the light was so confusing that Rose missed their appointment of the utmost importance: the fox that came to stare at them through the back window at 3 am sharp for their regular screaming match. Rose had stayed wrapped in a blanket under the bed most of that morning(?). They had watched the comforting sparkles floating inside their favourite snowglobe while pondering the meaning of time. Perhaps Rose should phone the gardening company and the press, just to make sure - no, night again. Morning happened when they had breakfast. Did they need to have breakfast to start the morning? They flipped the snowglobe upside down while gazing pleadingly into the fridge, then went back to huddle in the warm blankets and turned off the light. In dire circumstances, when Rose had run out of options and knew nothing else to do, there was always one thing, one miraculous solution, that ended up working every time. Howling. Rose's mournful voice filled their tiny house - at least -, vibrating with tremulous lament, doom, misery and misfortune. Howling did not fix the sky, but at least now the sky was messed up and they were howling! Yes, they would stay here under the bed, until the end of time, never to see any of their poor friends again - no, wait. Rose's howling stopped short and would have to be resumed later. The squirrel was back on the bird feeder. The sliding door was slammed with enough force to make the house quaver and Rose bolted at full speed towards the offending rodent, which scurried up a tree in a ginger flash long before they could make it. Rose glared at where the fluffy tail had disappeared before gathering their possessions to drag them to safety - rake, trowel, thirty golf balls... Rose never sent that many golf balls into the neighbours' gardens... But, soft! what toy from yonder vapor falls? It is a disc, and Rose slips on golf balls. More of an oddly shaped puzzle toy than a proper frisbee. Rose picked up the piece delicately in their mouth - HANDS - in their hands (two of them!), pinching it securely between their fingers and their very, very opposable thumbs. Whatever it was, this was Rose's toy now. It belonged to them, and that fact must be known, and it must be taken to its rightful place in the sanctity of their belongings, and Rose clasped it with the utmost power that comes from owning a thing and being fully prepared to defend it from any scoundrel that might attempt to pry it away from them to add to ill-gotten gains, and Rose basked in that delicious, triumphant ownership for two shining seconds, after which they tossed the puzzle piece around, wondering how to return it. You see, it had been thrown to them, which meant that it had to be returned, right? Rose unlatched the garden gate, fixed the large "NO GEESE" sign that had been toppled (by a goose), and trotted into the street, their hair bouncing around their ears in silky pigtails, and the puzzle piece tucked into the pocket of their overalls.
Someone in the vicinity was shouting about puzzle pieces, Rose resisted the urge to shout back across the streets, just to join in the noise. Perhaps treats would be offered for retrieval of puzzle pieces!
They were trotting in that direction because it seemed the right thing to do when they paused to glance curiously at a human. Her clothes looked very very soft, and she had a look about her that reminded Rose of students during exam season. She seemed unlikely to provide treats. She seemed to need something, though, and Rose did not know what thing, but Rose was very well going to take a guess.
So they trotted up to the human, sitting - no, not sitting -pausing well out of her personal space, slowly extended their arms with the puzzle piece held flat on their hands. They tilted their head slightly and waited with a gentle smile.
Rose is a human! They have a lot of whining to do during the weather events but they're out and about now with a puzzle piece, and they brought it toooo Gibi ( Twillie ). Treat? treat??

"Oh!" said Jess, "He's named after a tea, of course! I never realized that." The owl confirmed with a hoot, and took flight. Quickly Jess put on her top hat and grabbed the satchel with Taffy inside. "Let's go, Cass!" Without checking to see if Cassidy was following, Jess took off, following the owl to the Tea Witch. A block later, her Guinea Pig stuck her head out of the satchel and started squealing. "What it is, Taffy?" asked Jess, scratching the Guinea Pig's head. The Guinea Pig chittered, then turned to look at a couple of people nearby. "Oh, hi Gibi! Hi Rose! Taffy says hi! I'd love to chat, but we're following Who-long to the Tea Witch in case she knows something about these puzzle pieces Cass and I found. Bye!" And with that, Jess took off at a run to catch up with the owl, not noticing if she left two very confused people in her wake or not. Jess is taught the magic of tea puns by Cass Kat, and follows H-oolong Celestial to the Tea Witch. Along the way, she says hi to Gibi Twillie and Rose Liou. Join the snowball rolling down the hill, collecting puzzle pieces.

Oh, the owl responded with a nod and some hooting when Cassidy explained his name. That confirmed her suspicion that the owl was sentient, and was most likely the familiar of the Tea Witch. When the owl took off, Cassidy needed no further urging to follow, and fell in step just behind Jess. She occasionally looked up to ensure that the owl was still within their sight, and had to slow down and make sure she didn't bump into Jess when the girl waved to two persons - one sitting, the other offering something in their hands. Something...wait. Did that something look like a puzzle piece? Unfortunately, Jess kept running after H-oolong right after saying hi to her friends. "Jess, wait!" Cassidy called, sprinting after Jess. "They look like they have a puzzle piece too!" She raised her voice to make sure the owl familiar also heard it. Cass and Jess ( June Scarlet) follow H-oolong ( Celestial). When Jess stops to say hi to Gibi ( Twillie) and Rose ( Liou), Cass notices the puzzle piece Rose is offering Gibi, and tries to get Jess (and H-oolong) to stop and investigate this. More puzzle pieces!

Whilst Evi was lost taking photographs and treading gingerly about the black cat, he failed to notice that the people under the umbrella had doubled. Plates? Ties? What was this madness all of a sudden? Oh, there was the former weather man. And the crazy weather person. Rachel had told him about both people a few dozen times. Speaking of his partner, she was clearly flustered by the conversation and just plain everyone. "Er, hello," he started to them as he whipped out his puzzle piece and (after shaking it to confirm nothing additionally weird was going on with this situation) he handed it off to the one with pink hair, who had walked up behind Ray. "I'm Evi, and we're all on the same quest, it seems. See if this fits any of yours," he said before he winked at Rachel. He'd bought her some time. The cat was still rubbing against his leg. He sighed and took a step back before taking out his camera and taking her photo, catching the cat's dark fluff glistening in the few drops of glitter that still rained down, previously caught in Bella. Nice. With another sigh, he shrugged and leaned down to pet the cat. Evi is so busy taking nice photos that he fails to realize stuff is happening and more people are here! He notices Ray ( pixie ) and Era ( Gelquie ) -- characters Rachel has talked to him about before -- and politely yet curtly introduces himself before passing his piece to the pink-haired woman ( Ginz ❤ ) (if she decides not to follow Ray though let me know and I'll revise!), trying to buy the flustered Rachel some time. He then resigns and leans down to pet Purr-eh ( Celestial ) after taking her picture.

A mostly-unfamiliar but awesomely-dressed girl spoke in excited agreement about using the puzzles to solve the wacky weather. Yes, finally, someone on the same page as them!! Era didn’t so much care about stopping it (it was interesting!), but if they did find the source or what was causing it, then that was more important than anything! But first, they had to make their concerns known, and so they did! As they waited for Rachel to put her thoughts together, they heard Shiny-Girl speak again. "By the way, I don't suppose you've found anything to suggest a source for this recent weather phenomenon? Besides the puzzle pieces?"“Not a clue!” Era admitted. “But it’s all step by step! Experiment by experiment! Putting this puzzle together could be a very big clue and is worth a try! ...Hm, I should’ve recorded where I found mine, in case it’s not what, but where. Don’t worry, I remember mine!” They took out their book and began jotting down notes. Their note-taking came to a close, however, when they saw… him… “It’s not a solid plate, but if it’s for citizen science, I can loan my tie for a surface area, I suppose,” Ray offered.Oh. Their. Stars!Ray. Nextpected. Was talking to them!!This was their BIG CHANCE!! ...Oh, say something, they should actually say something!! “Y-yes, that should do great! Thank you, great Ray!! ...Nextpected!” Era practically cheered, putting away their book and accepting the tie. They examined it, at first to soak in the fact that they had Ray Nextpected’s tie in their hands, eeee! And then to actually note the patterns and where they were. “Okay! So when I—Era Newton, I record and send weather data for you at Strata Hill!—got my puzzle plate and waved it around, it changed sides. And created some distortion and weird laughter from nowhere. Maybe if I--Era--do the same motion…” They did so, holding the tie as stiff as they could as they waved it around. They may have been a bit more frantic than intended because look, they had Ray’s tie!!...But. It seemed like it wasn’t doing anything this time. No color or design change, no distortion, no laughter. “Hmm, maybe it is the event then. Or maybe it needs to be more solid. ...Thank you anyway! I, Era Newton, appreciate your service and your advancement of science and... everything you provide! Love your lizard pet, by the way!” It took some internal coaxing, but they handed the tie back over to Ray Nextpected. They weren’t going to get into anyone’s good graces if they stole their tie, as amazing a tie as it was. Ooh, but was there something more they could do to keep Ray’s attention, and have him notice more of what they could do? Maybe he could bounce off of Rachel’s reply, or maybe… Out of the corner of their eye, they noticed Aggie, the local tea witch. Era had to admit they hadn’t visited her for a while, since they’d gotten into coffee, but maybe they could stop by for old times sake, get some cake. Maybe some cloud tea; it was nice, and could still give a touch of that caffeine kick, while hopefully helping Era not get sick during such a critical time-- "I'm Evi, and we're all on the same quest, it seems. See if this fits any of yours," a voice cut in. ...Ahh, right, the puzzle pieces. That was important and shared top priority! People seemed to be coming together on this, at least. The cat Purr-erh seemed to be guiding everyone to bring their puzzle pieces there. Well, there was as good as any place. Besides, Aggie seemed ready to offer a tea saucer… “Oh, perfect!” Era cried. “I can take a second trial! Thanks Aggie!” Era gestured to the others to follow. “Let's keep talking over there, and meanwhile we can try the puzzle!" When they get to the space, they gently set down their plate to help frame the puzzle. Era is happy that someone ( PFA ) is on the same page as them!! Or close enough; they're on the same side!! And then Era sees their senpai Ray Nextpected ( Pixie , Lizica ) and is OVER THE MOON. That they get to meet their hero and hopeful future fellow employee in person!! They accept the tie—while name-dropping themself a few times—and explain exactly what happened with the puzzle piece earlier, in that it shifted, caused distortions, and created manic laughter. They test it out, only to find that no, the effect was not caused by any powers they may have, but it could be part of the phenomena! Era returns the tie, then tries to think of how to prolong the conversation so that Ray remembers them!! Era sees Aggie ( Celestial ) and gets the appropriate cravings for tea shop stuff, but first, the puzzle pieces! And the saucer! Era urges the conversation to converge around Aggie so they can get to work putting the puzzle together!! They set down their plate to get the ball rolling on putting the puzzle together. ( Rabbit ♠ is also there; I'm sorry, Era talks so much. If nothing else, the anenometer question still stands as is.)
