Happy November all! Whether you've been anticipating or dreading it, the time has come upon us to celebrate the annual National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo!
The general idea of NaNo is that within the 30 days of November, authors are challenged to write an entire novel, or more specifically 50,000 words. By feeding off the motivation of other creators and creating a tangible schedule, this is to break down the barriers we may otherwise face in progressing our stories. NaNo doesn't have to be for just writing, though! Many others have adopted it as a month of general productivity, whether they tackle a different creative project, tidy up around the house, get into better quality of life habits, etc. Basically, if there's been something you've been wanting to try but haven't found the time or motivation for, this could be your chance to give it a shot!
This subboard is open for people to make personal threads detailing their NaNo goals and tracking their progress, but for any discussion, questions, complaints, comments, or encouragement, this is your thread!

Thanks for making this board! I always come back this time of year because I love the encouragement of being around my fellow writers. As usual I try to rope all my friends into it so I have a handful of writing buddies this year but I'm always open to more! My username on the nanowrimo website is sweetjupes if anyone wants to be pals. I'm excited and looking forward to this years adventure.

Yeah, of course! Our NaNo subboard typically doesn't open until a day or two before the start of November, and seeing your post from earlier was a good reminder!
I don't usually use the NaNo site itself, although this year I may make better use of it. Just got done dusting off my account (it still had an old novel I put aside in 2015 as a project xD), my username is twillieblossom.

Isn't it a tradition to also have a challenges thread around here?
Anyway, once I finish some other projects, I might jump in late with something, but in the meanwhile, it's neat to see what everyone else is working on!

Yeah, there's usually a NaNo Dares thread, which anyone is free to make! I can start one soon at least if nobody else does.

*briefly pops in* Huh, I think this is the first time that I'm seeing the NaNo subboard relatively quiet 9 days into NaNo. I expected it would be more busy with posts, but I guess that people are more focused on the writing, even if the quality is terrible. That, and the forum also being relatively quiet.

Nah, my writing rules but I am super focused on it. I do most of my nano chatting over on twitter and discord, so that might be why. I'm always down to word sprints if anyone is in need a sprinting partner hmu!

NaNo is technically over, but for anyone who wants to put in any last minute updates, I'll leave this board open for the rest of the day, maybe a little into tomorrow! Congrats all on the work you did!
