It's that time of year again. Every major retailer in the United States is putting up their Christmas merchandise with the hope for a major season of spending in the next two months. Of course, Christmas is about more than commercialism, right? It is about celebrating with friends and family. I'll spare you all from the cheesy monologue I could write about the true meanings of Christmas; my main point is that Christmas is quickly approaching and I am beginning to make preparations for the upcoming holiday season. You may remember the little holiday project I hosted last year. It was an advent calendar known as ' A Beary Merry Christmas.' I had a lot of fun organizing and running that mini-event and based off of the Warm Fuzzies I received last year, everyone enjoyed it a lot! I've been hoping to put together another holiday mini-event this year and I currently have an idea of what I'd like to do. It's going to involve more than me sharing images on the forum every day so I'll want to start getting it organized now if it's going to happen. So, the first purpose of this thread is to ask for some assistance from a forum moderator. Currently, I wish to wait until next month before I announce my next holiday project but I would like to share this idea with a mod to see if such an idea is feasible and if I can organize an event for it. If all goes well, I will share the premise of my project around the beginning of next month. Another purpose for this thread is to do an interest check. Let me know if you'd like to see me do another Christmas project; one that will be bigger than last year! That is all for now. Updates will come in the days to come, so keep checking back. Kozma

Yes, please! =D I love Kozma-run Christmas projects! It's a shame I'm retired, or I would absolutely volunteer to assist you. But either way, I'm excited to hear about your idea when you're ready to reveal it! ^_^

=D I would love to see a new Kozma project start up for Christmas! Beary Merry Christmas was lovely so anything bigger and better would be utterly amazing to behold.

Well, Halloween is over and you know what that means... It's time to start thinking about Christmas! Okay, so maybe it's still early to start setting up for the holidays (unless you're a retailer) but that doesn't mean I can wait a few more weeks before starting up this little project I have planned; given that if I don't start it now then it won't be ready by December. Some of the things that always come with the holidays are the cheesy cartoon specials and commercials that the television stations air all month long. You know; the ones that try to proclaim the true meaning of Christmas while trying to sell you this years' hottest toys. Nothing says 'holiday spirit' like a good cartoon with a cheesy moral and bare-bones plot. Some of these classics have been aired every year since the 1960's; yet there are many other that have been lost and forgotten. I don't want to keep watching the same ones every year; those featuring misfit reindeer, sickly little trees and sinister green thieves. I want to watch something different! Thankfully, with the help of YouTube, many of these lost specials are not so lost anymore. I've been wanting to watch some old, forgotten holiday specials this year and I figured that it would be more fun if I could watch them with friends. Since my 'A Beary Merry Christmas' project was so well received last year, I decided to give this idea a try. I am proud to now announce: The Holiday Cartoon Special Theatre! My project this year is to watch a few of these forgotten, holiday specials on YouTube. I thought it would be fun to invite the NTWF to join me in this, so in December, I will be using Watch2Gether to sync-view them with friends. It's a lot like the NTWF Movie Nights or QUALITY Movie Theatre events that we've had in the past. Interested? Leave a response as I would like to know who is interested in joining me next month. If I have enough interest, I'll make an official board for this project. I will also need to determine when we will be watching these specials. I would like to do this over the three weekends before Christmas and watch at least one special each week. Let me know when you'll be available for watching videos together and I'll see if I can get a project schedule organized. Now, there are a ton of animated holiday specials, far more than we can watch in one season. Because of this, I thought we should have a vote on which ones we would like to see. In a week or two, I'm going to put up a poll with a list of titles of several holiday specials. Included with each title will be a brief plot synopsis. Everyone interested in joining this event can vote on three titles that we should watch and the winning titles will be shown in our gatherings. That's basically it. I am very excited for the next two months and it would be great if I could watch some cartoons with you all. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season regardless of whether this project gets off the ground or not. Kozma - Be aware that some of these holiday specials may be of QUALITY level, if you know what I mean by that.
- The holiday specials I have in mind for this project will not have any major religious content.

If I have a free evening and it does not run too late, I'd be delighted to. =D

I'm interested~
I work evenings and weekends, though, and I get my schedule on Friday for the following week starting on Monday, so I wouldn't plan around my schedule. But if I happen to be free, then I'd love to join in.

I’m definitely interested! 😃 Availability on weekends is a little hard to predict for me these days, because I tend to see my boyfriend one day and my sister the other, so depending on the times, I may or may not be available. However, I’ll join whenever I can!!
It would be cool to have a list of the Specials everyone’s watching together so that if some of us aren’t able to join, we can watch on our own time and post our thoughts. ^_^
Anyway, I’m excited!!

Hey everyone. It seems that most of the holiday specials I've been looking at are no longer than 30 minutes, so I decided that we might be able to watch all of them after all! Because of this, I won't put up a poll to decide which ones to watch; we'll try to see them all throughout December.
I got a great selection of holiday specials to watch, including at least one QUALITY special!
My current plan is to start the evening of Friday, December 6. The time will be determined based on when everyone is available. I am also preparing to do reruns of this event so that everyone can watch the specials they would like to see.
I can't wait for next month!

Awesome! =D Friday evening works perfectly for me. I'll adapt to whatever time works for everyone else, as that's not a problem for me. ^^

I work most Friday evenings, but I'm usually off by 6:00pm NST/Pacific Standard Time. I wouldn't work around my schedule, though, I can just join in late.

I kind of love this idea. However, my brother and I normally go out to eat together on Fridays. So I'm not sure I'll be able to join, especially not every week, but this sounds so fun.

Happy December, everyone!
So, my seasonal schedule is turning out to be a bit more hectic than I anticipated; primarily my work schedule which is likely going to have me work every Saturday until Christmas. Because of this, I'm going to have a limited timeframe where I'll be able to host the Holiday Cartoon Theatre.
I got three holiday cartoon specials lined up.
Each special is about a half hour long. Of course, no one's required to stay for the whole event but you won't want to miss these. I got a cartoon with adorable characters, another with wonderful animation, and then one featuring a most creepy villain (I hope no one here is afraid of clowns)! And this is just the first week!
I'll keep you all updated on how my schedule will look in the coming days and weeks.
