And now for something completely different! Decided that waiting for level 10 is for boring people who don't paint 1000000 versions of a single character, and so...here is me working out a rough colour scheme for one A.V. Alektos! Again: this is veryvery rough. The pink leggings especially have made everything else pink for now, haha. I kind of want her eyes to have a Cool Glowy Effect, but I don't really know how to do that with white so might have to compromise and make them pale blue. Sadly not featured: the magic shield Love the tortle priestess gave her, which can heal up to six people at a time as a bonus action; and the cool mithril chainmail Amadeus gave her. Speaking of Amadeus: he may have been killed by Astrophelle's crush/idol when he wandered off alone (rough times for the Dragonwatch!), but I won't know until next Sunday's session. But if he is out of the game, whether temporarily or permanently, his roleplayer intends on playing a kobold artificer! Who I really want to paint if this transpires. xD I love kobolds.

Was doing some prep for Trash Squad tonight, and ended up reallyreally wanting to work on some more minis for that game! Couldn't do too much with this poor lighting, but I made a start. Left: T'rissa, Phoebe's aunt and Bart's thoroughly nasty ex (her nastiness is probably to some degree because of the effect Undermountain has on people, idk I haven't entirely worked that one through yet.) The party plan to eventually confront her, so I figured she should get her own mini because she's become such an important figure in this campaign. I love how well the details on those cool black flowy robes stand out, ahhh! <3 Middle: Valyrissa, T'rissa's younger sister and Phoebe's mother. Decent lady, but not an amazing mother. She does genuinely care for Phoebe though, so hopefully I'll get a chance to explore this a bit in the course of the campaign! Right: Nadia, a human thug the party fought in our final session of 2020. Currently deceased, but Kingston plans to disguise himself as her next session and I had this perfect mini lying around unused, so decided to paint her up because it can be used for that and also for cool human fighterladies in future. Thanks so much to Liou for those first two minis! <3

Decided to get a lil' group-shot to show all the minis I've painted for the Trash Squad campaign! Some are better than others, and some are unfinished; and Bart, Rob, Something and Yaz are missing, as their minis are currently being kept at my friend's house (where we normally play dee en dee.) L-R; front row to back: Generic Drow Wizard: not a specific NPC, but I really like the model and use it for various mages. Dove-Calling-At-Twilight "Twyla" (she/her) : a winter eladrin tied to Kingston's patron. She is very good at moonwalking! Nadia (she/her): or any other cool fightery lady NPC really, as this one is currently dead. Valyrissa (she/her): Phoebe's mum! Alessandra (she/her): young human woman who would quite like to kill Va'kym (for totally legitimate reasons.) Generic Drow Wizard #2: ...only this one is more DYNAMIC!! T'rissa (she/her): Bart's ex, power-hungry and not very nice. Generic Drow Cleric: or fighter, or whatever I need the mini for. Chadd'ithae (he/him) (in the blue): Bart's hotter and more talented older brother. Revelation (he/him): tiefling priest the party almost got killed one time. And then they delivered him a letter from his sister, asking for money. Good times. Generic Drow Fighter: was used as Carl's mini before his sad demise. Drivvin (he/him): drow necromancer, becoming increasingly paranoid due to the Voice of Undermountain. Tied to the rival faction to every other named drow here (although I plan to paint a mini for his grand-niece Iridia once I'm certain the party will encounter her.) Chalamyntine (she/her): Phoebe's crush, a paladin of Lolth, acts like she's 2kewl4skool. N'ghathrod (it/its): mind flayer ship's captain stranded in Undermountain. Banshee: for an encounter with some spiders and also ghosts the party faced in session one! Ras Nsi (he/him): his actual mini was out of stock, so when I needed to utilise him I quickly painted up a spare malison. Killed by the party so Va'kym would be granted snakier features by a priestess of the Night Serpent as a reward. Bitey (undecided): I didn't paint this one, I just think it's really cool! Am gonna use this as the mini for the awakened dino sidekick to an Important NPC next session. Karaz'thalar'arganvaum (he/him): the first enemy the party ever spared. He now works in an inn in Skullport, but is still terrified of the party.

WIP glowing eyes (which I shouldn't have attempted so late at night, but oh well! I'll fix and tidy up the 'border' and stuff later.)

Fun fact! I have never NOT screwed up Astrophelle's face on a mini. But I'll be painting a wingless variant at some stage and just keeping this one for when her wings are active, so maybe then. Still need to finish the base and do some touch-ups after, but I'll be debuting this mini alongside Katzye's new mini in our game today!

Painted a mini realquick today for a game tomorrow! Pretty happy with how they turned out. Bryn (they/them) is a half-elf (human/moon elf) ranger whose father was driven insane by a sentient mountain, and then got killed by their mother. And then again by the party years later. Such drama. Bryn is the caretaker of a giant crystalline cavern called the Refuge, where all kinds of people can come to take shelter! Current occupants include a lost traveler from the plane of earth, a few drow whose house came under attack, and a werebat. The base is supposed to represent the crystalline cavern, and is pink/white shot through with some blue. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

My Trash Squad are in a place right now with gates that can teleport them to...pretty much anywhere else in the module. So I have been working on a bunch of minis! Drivvin Freth, necromancer and...potential friend/ally for PC necromancer Bart? We shall see! Working on the spiderweb tracery for his sister Erelal! It is tricky, but I'll get there! She's the local commander of her house's forces, in opposition to Phoebe's grandmother Vlonwelv, who I also need to paint. Phoebe's aunt/Bart's ex T'rissa Auvryndar, and Phoebe's mother Valyrissa Auvryndar- both priestesses of Lolth.

A friend in my Wednesday group saw Dawn, and asked me to paint their character too. I am excited, but also don't want to get their hopes up based solely on the best mini I've ever painted, so am gonna bring a few samples Wednesday so they can see what I'm capable of in general. I am gonna try finish Erelal and use her, because that spiderweb tracery is so cool!

It's been a while since I last talked about my drider necromancer, Araneo Arachnis Sunbreaker. And I was working on his mini some more today, so perfect timing! "Araneo is baller"- my brother, looking at this mini. Araneo is my PC in a repeatedly-postponed game where we all play generals in an army of evil. This setting is one my brother (the DM) has been working on for over a year, which he wants to run multiple games in, and I'm very excited for this because there is so much amazing worldbuilding. Araneo comes from a wealthy family in a country where necromancy is commonplace. He studied necromantic wizardry, but his true passion was dance. When he became a drider, he could no longer dance, which sucks but also did force him to focus more on his wizardry, making him a much better player character. His voice is inspired by Darth Sidious, but he's marginally less evil. 'Sunbreaker' is a jab at the sun god, who vanished along with the other deities. (in this setting, drider are a Good Thing- drow occasionally metamorphose into them and it's rad and an excuse for a party and obvs an entirely new wardrobe. So Araneo is the Golden Child, much to the annoyance of his older sibling, who has recently taken up dance to spite him.) The mini itself:*One of those swords is his spellcasting focus. *He paints his forelegs red partly as an intimidation tactic, and partly because he just thinks it's pretty (he paints his nails red too!) *My brother is letting me play a drider arghhhh!!!! *I love my brother.

Really happy with how the spiderweb design turned out on Erelal! Oh wow, I wonder who this second figure is??? Certainly not ANOTHER Astrophelle??? (this mini is the spare from the packet the top half of Dawn's mini came from.) The third is a mini I'm painting for a person in my Wednesday D&D group. Maegon of Derathion, a ranger (I think?) covered in magical tattoos. Dawn was very impressed.

Progress on Maegon and Astro! The paints I used on Astro weren't behaving well today, but I'm happy with where the white spots for starting off the eyes ended up. Astro's arm has been removed to attach a sword.

Latest WIP of my fourth Astro mini! This and the one I recently painted will be in use at the same time, as I just need a version without wings since she only has those at max once per day. ..and this won't even be the last mini I paint of her, haha. At the very least, her DM talked to me about Astro getting permanent wings eventually, and I'll DEFINITELY need to paint a new mini for that!

Progress on Astrophelle and Maegon (Astro is a lot closer to being finished, but that's okay as I told Maegon's owner I'd do the base colours this week and then details etc in the next. xD) I have so many emotions about how well Astrophelle is coming along here. ;-; Need to tidy up edges, attach the other arm and finish the base. The base is dark with blue cracks in it, like the cracks in reality currently in Astro's chest. And the nebulaic birth mark turned out great, and I even managed to dot some little stars onto her face! A good ranger boyo (I'm gaming with this group tonight! We're gathering an archmage's family for his surprise birthday party, should be a fun time.)
