I might just go back and do a bunch of comments on past Issues once the semester's over. But man, my bunny's exploring the house so I'm awake right now, and even though I've fallen behind, I'll go ahead and comment out of order, I guess. Twillie I really thought you'd take this chance to dress Zath in a new outfit, but I see you're going with an old classic. The poor tree really lost a lot with compression, looking between the Times and your thread here.
I actually have a crack theory about the tree, which I'll explain within the week.
I see that Cherry has picked up a snark or two from being with Zath so long.
Got to see the back of Zath's hair, which is nice.
Plot twist: Cherry is color-blind.

June Scarlet Ooh, I'm curious what this crack theory of yours is now >w> But haha, glad you noticed all the little things I threw in here! Designing a new outfit actually hadn't crossed my mind before, funnily enough, I just saw the opportunity to make a small throwback x3 And Zathandria is indeed rubbing off on Cherry, everybody hide. And ah, color blindness you say? I can certainly see that line of thinking, there's been a couple references to color in this arc already! And some comic commentary of my own: Aw man, why is Matt so cute to me? xD I love that poof! panel with his hair, lol great comedic timing. And honestly, I'd probably do the same in hiding out in von Evil's empty lair, if for nothing other than having a private space completely to myself. I bet he's got great utilities! The last four panels were just a teensy bit confusing to me, I think mostly because in panel nineteen the Defender looks like she's about to do an action towards Matt, so when she's suddenly pulled in the opposite direction it's a bit jarring. I think it was also partially because I had forgotten what that curly symbol meant for a hot second. After rereading the last arc and remembering what that symbol means though, it made it a lot easier to understand the action! Speaking of, I also really dig your use of the minimalist backgrounds in the latter half of this comic. In that last action sequence, that closing in of dark over light is all that's needed to get the effect across and create a foreboding ending for readers to wonder what's to come (and it's also neat because it's not just symbolic, but literal!). I also really love that little sequence where Matt tries to tell them he's waiting for someone, but looks behind and it's just blackness. The background had already turned black with the Defenders to show up to signal a shift in the story, but I love the double meaning in that one panel where he looks back. Trying to justify that he's waiting on a friend, and there's literal nothing behind him is very representative of this whole series.

Twillie Aha! So that's why you had that thing where Jonathan tried to move Twillie's red piece, and moved Cherry's instead. To show that there is color in this world, just that the viewer doesn't perceive it. Yeah, the curly symbol is a flame/light power, based off this wearable on here: pets.neopets.com/cp/mm99co8h/1/5.png It's part of Starla's ability, producing light. I actually animated part of this scene way back when, if it helps. fav.me/dajk2mpHaha, yeah, I love the little "floof" panel, that was fun. It's such a dark arc, I take the fun wherever I can get it. Using a black background is slightly more work to draw, so you know when they're in the comic, they're there for a reason. *nods*

June Scarlet Good catch ;D And ahh, nice! I love it when there's a good wearable to match a character. And lol yeah, even just those tiny bits of humor can go a long way for a story.
