Issue 852A chill wind blew through the thicket of the Haunted Woods, causing Fablar, a Royalboy Cybunny, to shiver and clutch a small written note closer to his chest. Although the woods were filled with trees and foliage, it managed to stay cold and foreboding. Fablar sighed, thinking to himself about how he even got here. Of course, his bad luck would kick in at the most inopportune moment… -- k3l26 NTWF entries Articles: None Short Stories: None Comics: Heavyweight by HuntressDinner with the Scarlets: Fishing FolliesSeries: A Queen's Ascension - War:Part Three by dudeiloledIf I missed you, let me know.

June ScarletHahaaa, how relatable! I like the timing on this - right after "I don't want to brag or anything" xD - and the droopy-eared disappointment. I bet higher fishing level doesn't even let you catch designer boots. HuntressOoh nice angles for this battle scene, nice Leaf Shield and - is that a quill sword? I really like Von Roo's wing positions alternating from frame to frame, looks very steady, and Shad and Von Roo so clearly looking down in the second-to-last panel adds nicely to the down-movement, and the punchline is adorable, such a good sport. Also, the gravestone faces in the background xD Hope you had fun with those.

I'll get to yours, dudeiloled, when I have more time! June Scarlet: I love the deconstruction of the abundance of boots when fishing, and how they always seem to appear even when you'd think that a Neopet would be able to discern the two at that point. Great work! Huntress: Right off the bat, I would like to praise the evocative usage of the background scenery to create a dramatic mood for the fight. The way the punchline is done is also done great, abruptly contrasting him flinging the gold muffin with its sudden fall for great comic effect. Roo's snarky comeback was also a great touch! This makes me wonder why I have yet to start regularly doing comics myself... I really need to soon.

One thing I wish is that higher fishing levels granted you the ability to not catch boots or cans.

Ooh nice angles for this battle scene, nice Leaf Shield and - is that a quill sword? I really like Von Roo's wing positions alternating from frame to frame, looks very steady, and Shad and Von Roo so clearly looking down in the second-to-last panel adds nicely to the down-movement, and the punchline is adorable, such a good sport. Also, the gravestone faces in the background xD Hope you had fun with those. *squints* I think it was supposed to be the Battle Faerie Dagger; I'm frankly kinda "lol how does one anything?" when it comes to the Battledome and Shad has effectively no stats whatsoever so I had to put together a reasonable newbie battleset for him while having very little idea what I was doing :'D Although it looks like the quill sword would fit the bill equally well. (shoutout to Fraze here, who actually knows his way around the BD and helped me find good equipment) And the gravestone faces were fun as heck, yep xD It's a crying shame that I couldn't reasonably animate the background because in the actual Rattling Cauldron battledome, the rightmost gravestone is constantly waggling its eyebrows. Right off the bat, I would like to praise the evocative usage of the background scenery to create a dramatic mood for the fight. The way the punchline is done is also done great, abruptly contrasting him flinging the gold muffin with its sudden fall for great comic effect. Roo's snarky comeback was also a great touch! Man, I'm really glad you like that background, because I always remember way too late into drawing anything with barren trees that it's stupidly messy work and I never like the way it turns out. Good to hear that it paid off here ^^ Thank you both for the reviews, they're very much appreciated =D
