HOW DID THAT TAKE SO LONG??!!?? Hunty that's CRAZY. I'm glad it arrived okay though, and the little bears too! And wow, did I forget to do photos? Totally thought I did ahhh! There were some right pretties. <3 I suspect it was because the envelope wasn't a standard shape onnacounta the bears, so whatever automatic processes there are to process letters wouldn't have been able to chew it up. Or it got stuck in the system somewhere. Honestly I'm impressed that all letters made it here, considering how we live in this forgotten backside of a country and my past experiences with forum swaps where stuff just never made it here. Right, PICTURES =D This is what we do with christmas cards in this household. (also featuring the second Frozen rewatch of the day, and roughly the eleventh within the past week. Look, I'm just glad the kid doesn't know about Teletubbies.) This particular weird white-painted corner in our otherwise floral-golden living room is the result of the previous owners wanting to put in a fireplace. They never got around to it so that corner looks a bit odd most of the year, but I use it as convenient card-hanging background for Christmas. This year, I put our various RL-people-cards on the right and all forumer-cards on the left so that we could keep adding them as they came in.Of course, since it's the far corner of the room and we live in this frozen tundra that gets like, five hours of daylight right now and it hasn't been sunny since Saturday, it was ridiculously hard to take a photo of them :'D But since it was high time to take them down anyway, I used the chance to take better shots. Man, look how pretty they all are C: And that's not picturing the drawings, the stickers, the Wrighton symbols (which will never fail to make me feel all fuzzy because of all the meanings they carry) and all the wonderful good wishes. With real handwriting. From real people. From all over the world. (...look, I've never been very good at expressing mushy feelings, much as I'd love to give better individual feedback like many others have done, so just *vague handwave* picture a vaguely Hunty-shaped blob of fuzzy goo with a :3 face at this point.) Thank you all for being awesome C:

Sorry for posting this so late (and generally dropping the ball on timeliness), but I've received all of the cards and they are all so sweet. ;__; Multilingual cards! Pretty drawings! Stickers! Plastic rainbows! A trading card! It makes me feel real happy to have been a part of this.

Liou I got your card today! I audibly GASPED when I pulled it out of the envelope. I don't think I could have found a more perfect card for myself if I tried! It's so cute and Ginzyish and I absolutely love it aaaaaaaaa!! Thank you so much, it's so beautiful!! The unicorn reminded me of Inara, and there's so many little details and stars and hearts, so colorful and lovely!! <3 You have the neatest prettiest handwriting, oh my goodness! Your message was super SWEET and I love the shiny stickers (This owl totally delivered this letter!!), and you drew the element orbs from W.I.T.C.H. omg! I am... just overwhelmed with how much of what I love is packed in this little card, it's overflowing with love and thoughtfulness! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! <33

Ginz ❤ 's card came in yesterday! =D And with the collection complete, I shall now show pictures \o/ I don't have a place to hang the cards right now, but once I move back into a dorm this weekend, I'll probably find a good place to display them :3 For now, some great hardwood floor shots: And a couple close ups: I also wanted to give a shout out to a few envelope features I found cute x3 And not the only example of puffy stickers that came with the cards; all of the stickers that everyone added to their envelopes/cards are adorable =D My first mission with this card was to ensure minimal damage to this sticker when opening it x3 That sweet wax seal I mentioned before ;D I just love how there's a little comic strip on the actual envelope, I hope there's more out there with other comics as well x3 And inside each of them were all lovely notes and some really nice art that I still love looking at because <3 It's one thing seeing someone's art and writing online, but to actually be able to hold it is completely different. Thank you everyone for your cards, notes, arts, stickers, everything that you put into these, they make for a lovely piece of the forum and many friends to hold onto <3

I have watched this whole process from the shadows because I was a bit awol around sign-ups sort of time and so missed it, but it’s been such a lovely thing to follow. Such pretty cards! Such warmth and fuzziness! What a great idea Hunty!
I don’t know if there are plans to ever do it again? Or perhaps after a year or two’s break if people find the associated cost tricky? But if it does happen again I would definitely be interested in joining! (That is, if I count as an established enough forum member to participate in such things - I’m never quite sure!)

I don’t know if there are plans to ever do it again? Or perhaps after a year or two’s break if people find the associated cost tricky? But if it does happen again I would definitely be interested in joining! (That is, if I count as an established enough forum member to participate in such things - I’m never quite sure!) You sound established enough to me, particularly if you stick around for another year xD I'm always a bit egheghegh about running forum events, but this was actually a pretty easy one to coordinate (poke people about addresses, share addresses, fuss over getting all the right ones to the right people, follow up with a few deadline pokes). Could easily pull it off next Christmas, and I reckon there should be people around who'll prod me in early November if I don't remember myself. The cost depends heavily on how your postal system works, which is why I encouraged people to look up their rates before signing up. Here, there are three set rates for letters: one for domestic mail, one for anywhere in the European Union and one for everywhere else. So basically it doesn't matter if I'm sending to the US, Brazil or Australia. But the bulk of the cost for us were actually the cards themselves, and there's ways around that depending on how money-sensitive things are for people: could draw your own, could make sticker collages on cardstock, could stock up for next Christmas at post-holiday sales. (although I swear, I entirely meant to start building up a nice stock of pretty Christmas cards for the next holidays and as soon as the new year hit, all stores are completely empty of cards.)

Thank you all again. It's so special to have a thing to hold, from someone across the world, and with something as personal as handwriting. Not to mention the time spent preparing everything. This is all I need for the winter holidays. Even though I fretted a bit while waiting, running to the letterbox, and checking if the cards I sent had arrived, I really liked getting them over several weeks. It made the fun and anticipation last longer than if they'd all arrived in one stack. I'm not really one for actually hanging things on walls (only have one thing on my bedroom walls) so the cards have been standing and sitting on my desk in various configurations. Like guests for tea. I did gather them up for a quick photo, featuring a battered old phone camera and awkward lighting as I grabbed the only time I was home with enough daylight. It's been cold here! Good thing I had all these warm fuzzies.

Ginz ❤ , your card finally arrived.... kind of. And I think I figured out why it took so long to get here. You see... well, let's just document this in pictures, shall we? It came in an extra USPS envelope... And then the other side... Oh my. It's been damaged. eaten. mauled. mortally wounded. That must be why it took so long to get here. It had to limp be carried in on a stretcher, on life support all the way to my PO box. Is... Is the whole care even in there? Is it going to be in a million pieces? You know, let's open this on a towel, just in case... Nope. That's really all there is to it... That mail processing machine must have been QUITE hungry... And the inside... Hey, look! It's in the shape of a Christmas tree... and an extra 1/2... kind of. Sort of. Okay. Not really. Anyway, I could tell that your card was lovely. I actually got a good chuckle out of it. And I had fun narrating the poor, poor card's story to you. And, Ginz, may I post this to Facebook with the address blacked out like I have it here? Because I seriouslly think it's kinda' hilarious. USPS to me: Well, we'll still give you what we can... Hope you enjoy...

Aw, man! Allison , I'm really sorry you only got half a card! ;-; I had never seen something like that and have no idea what happened XD;; I guess it went through a whole adventure to get to you! That's really nice that they still sent you what they could instead of discarding it, it would have been pretty disappointing if you just didn't receive anything. I'm glad you got a chuckle out of it, though I'm still sorry because you deserved a complete card! Sadly, I didn't take any pictures of the cards before sending them, so I can't show you what it should have looked like. But I can tell you that it said 'Navidad' at the top, and apparently the glittery candy cane at the front was very yummy looking, cause it looks as if someone tried to much on it! XDD I don't mind you posting it to facebook if you want to share the story. Go ahead! ^^

Birdy and ThundyI guess it's terrible timing just because of how long it took, but it's also absolutely PERFECT timing because today is the day of love and friendship and I just got your cards!! <333 I'm extremely happy, because I had been worrying I wouldn't get any more and the ones I was missing had somehow been lost ;-; But it turned out not to be the case! they finally arrived, safe and sound, and they couldn't have come at a better time! Thank you, thank you, thank you both of you!! (and omg Birdy, even though today is the day it is, I couldn't figure out what the mysterious triangular item wrapped in purple paper was until about halfway through unwrapping it when I started feeling the shape and I was like it'saheartit'saheartOMGIT'SAHEART, I got suuuper excited!) Lots of love for you <333
