Yayayay, thanks Chains! =D So that's everyone except Thundy now (and me too, but I will get it sorted! I can't check my roster until I'm next in, in two days, but if I'm on for the 23rd and we're scheduled for a game then, I'll either find someone to swap with or we'll run a slightly shorter session.)

Less than 48 hours now until session 20! What a milestone! As always we'll be starting 7pm Britland Time, and they've gone out of daylight savings since our last session, so be sure to check whether or not this affects the start time on your end in advance of the game, non-British peeps!!!
As previously stated: the session will pick up at sunset in Cai Shaan, right after Gem's departure. Will our heroes go and fling their recently acquired gold at the nearest drinking establishment? Will they go back to the beach and enjoy a lovely coastal sunset? Or will they go hang out at their New House (TM) and make plans for the day ahead? We'll find out very soon!

I am a complete doof and forgot to mention something for all the sessions ever since we've been in Cai, but has been assumed and is kinda important. So I'll mention it here with an "oops, my bad."
Ever since Amani has been in Cai, they've been tucking their signature necklace under their clothes and out of sight. Under their shirt/robes/cloak and such.
Once out of Cai, they'll probably bring it back out, though, so it's fine for general mental images. Just for the sake of your mental images of them while in Cai.

^ Huh! I'm just theorizing so not asking for a yes or a no, but I feel like that strongly implies that Amani's necklace is an identifying trait to whoever they're hiding from.
Which just makes me wonder what the heck would have happened to Basil if I hadn't rolled like, a 2 when trying to steal it. xD

One week until session 21! Our last session for 2019, it looks like we'll be spending an afternoon in Cai Shaan...although Anthony seems dead set on heading to Ur Deyn on the morrow! We'll see how all this plays out in a week. :-D

Thorn: the party behaved so well when they met with Usavias, surely they'll be okay here with the actual lord too? The Party: *plays Baby Shark, bickers, Aytal steals the phone, more bickering*
I love you guys so much sometimes. xD

Session 20 Brief Summary!-Amani’s makeup is running. So Tally casts some mist in front of their face to hide them; yayy! This made it very easy for Amani to navigate, so much that they basically spent their time wandering around and getting distracted until the others catch up later. -Meallan buys some scrolls! -Anthony starts planning a party at their new place! Kegs and all! The party prepares to have the biggest rager ever!! -Khamet finds and talks to Katu. Anthony later comes by and invites Katu for Khamet! How nice!! -So many NPCs are invited! -Amani makes their way back to the house and helps Basil hide some stolen goods so that the random people coming by don’t see a bunch of stolen goods. -Then they all take some time to get to know the house. Tally asks about “”visitors””... the answer is yes! -Amani is not a huge fan of the party, and spends the time before the party acting like a cat. -While Amani acts like a cat, Meallan talks to the rest of the party about what to do with Amani and what they think about their behavior. Opinions vary! -But nevermind that, PARTAY TIIIIME! -All the NPCs and beer! Woo! -Meallan ditches the party pretty soon and sits on the beach. -Amani was warming up… until they see something. Then they jump out a window and join Meallan. -Party conversations happen! Cordelia still doesn’t like Khamet. Sky does, though! Katu wants to flirt with Tenacity but how do. Khamet encourages her to make a move! -The party ditchers hang out on the beach and not-talk about feelings. Meallan asks to Identify Amani’s cloak… Amani tells him it’s a Cloak of Protection. But their answer regarding how they got it is exactly as vague as before. Meallan also brings up Surati, to no answers. -Amani tries to console a sobbing Gale with Cordelia. Feels happen. So do questions about why Amani is shiny. The answer is not that they’re a genasi. -Meallan goes swimming, then looks for Surati unsuccessfully. -Anyway, Sky is totally fine with what happened! Congratulations all around! -Tally commissions Katu for a song about them! They also both try to flirt with each other, but neither really ask the question so they kind of flirt around the topic. Alas. </3 -Khamet talks to Tenacity. She explains that she’s part of an organization that chases time criminals, and she’s on her first assignment to get her license! She’s chasing a sorta-wizard who’s messing with the timeline and can wipe people out of existence. -Amani eventually wanders off. Meallan tries to follow with Aytal. Amani spots him at first and tries to shoo him away, but doesn’t catch Aytal still following. Amani sits there on the beach, then… they do something with their ring, and as a result become Shinier. Only Meallan has seen this, through Aytal.
The next day... -Meallan wants to go to Lord Lyrelle to negotiate the lives of the bandits that they caught and at least not have them be executed. They’re hesitant to bring it up to Amani given their previous stance on bandits. -Amani returns from where they were! And they’re… indeed shinier! The filigree on them has grown, and their eyes now have dark sclera. Woah. -Anyway, Amani’s so zen that their response to Meallan’s suggestion is “yeah, sure, whatevs.” -They meet Cai’a Merethi and Cai’a Lyrelle about the bandits, and petition for their lives, and commute their sentence to something else. -During this, Anthony plays Baby Shark and so Aytal steals his phone, which interrupts the meeting briefly. -The lord and advisors only promise to consider it. Khamet stays to help weigh in on the decision. -Tally asks Lyrelle about ensuring she doesn’t run into diplomatic incidents because of her race and her walking in and out of the city. An appointment is made so they can speak more plainly. In the meantime, she’s given a temporary pass. -Anthony tries to get the party go to back to Deyn! He’s worried! People are willing, but some people have some things to do in Cai first. -Meallan goes shopping with Amani, Tally, and Anthony! Meallan calls in his favor with Anthony so he can buy the ink to transcribe his spells. -Then they go to the bookstore!! All the books!! Wow!! Meallan looks for magic books, at least about magic. Amani… wanders around a bit at first, then looks into books on archfey to hopefully find something more about Vystris. Tally looks for books on how to get out of a contract with an archfey and also how to get out of bad relationships. -They find… a lot of smut books. Which some of them read a bit of. -They end up buying a book on toxic relationships signs… for Meallan. -While they’re buying books, it turns out there’s a magic school in the city! The Institute of the Third Eye. Meallan is intrigued. Amani, meanwhile, is too busy being zen-ly insulted by the shopkeeper not being into “weird magic.” -Tally meets Arim and his dad! They talk for a while. Though the dad is hesitant about Arim going to the place this random stranger suggested. ((I’m gonna fill in this part more later when I’ve slept.))

Tally does not write any journal entries recapping the past sessions, in fact, she does not journal at all. How very rude of her! At least she does write letters to her bae in which she mentions some stuff that happened. Here's what she wrote little by little during Sessions 20 and 21, and which she will properly mail next time. Darling Yzzy,
We all made it, the deed is done.
Your last letter from Zaihar was kindly delivered to me right before we boarded the ship and it was much comfort to know you were travelling safely.
The creature was like a monster of the deep, gigantic, but also protected by water on all sides. The group and crew did very well. Our humans in particular hit it very powerfully, and somehow knew how to work the artillery weapons on the ship, even improving them with music. I used water flow technique to hinder the monster and reduce damage while they took it down. I only really hit it twice, it was as slippery as seafood.
Our ship, the Windblessed, was wrecked and that was very sad for the captain, but we were found and brought back by another ship on the same day.
Sailing was not too difficult for me. (Do mages feel nausea more easily?) The sea moved a lot under us, but the vibrations felt a bit familiar that way. Snacking on ginger helped! The sea was very beautiful and the most blue you could imagine. Being on the sea was like being between two skies, both full of light. After a while, the land truly seemed to have disappeared. It seemed like we could have drifted forever, too far to return. If you wish to experience this yourself, it is possible because Cai Lyrelle awarded us a nice house to share as a group. The others might be going in and out and sleeping there but it is a nice place to stay with separate rooms and a view.
We celebrated by hosting a party in the house. It was mainly Anthony’s idea, he seems skilled at planning festivities. I suppose it was to celebrate our heroism. I didn’t really manage it.
It was a good party, of course. I started to mingle and dance and I managed to go up to a big, bird-like person with wings – the lookout from the ship, very nice. But it was hard to be in the middle of all these people. It made it so much more obvious that I did not belong. I even started fetching drinks at one point, as if I was waiting on them. I remembered the parties you brought me to. That only made it worse.
I missed being on the sea, stuck with only a few people and cut off from everything. It was a vast, roomy expanse, and an enclosed space at the same time.
There was a shiny golden dragonborn and I went to a more private place with her. She was amiable and a talented musician interested in our heroic deed. Even there, I felt off, like I was doing this out of obligation.
It's like I still cannot believe that I've done well, unless I hear it from the lips of a bigger woman, while resting on her lap.
A beautiful diamond-faced genasi fought the sea monster with us and left soon after. They were so bold and fearless and proud of themself. I miss them so much already. I don't want to be me, I want to be them.
The others are more open now, I can relax more around them. We found out that Meallan made a youthful mistake – a mistake of our caliber, Yzzy. O, greatest surprise. It took his ego down a notch, but he seems to have skipped straight ahead to redemption and dispensing life advice.
Our child sorcerer Inima (currently) started acting even more reticent than usual while in Cai Shaan. They’d only been at it for a few days and Meallan was already making a whole fuss around them. I know that it’s very convenient to fix everyone else’s problems to draw focus away from our own, but did we ever do it that blatantly? Anyway, the matter was that Inima’s mother lives in this city. Of course that would be extremely delicate.
We visited a school of magic with a library you might like. After some shopping I managed to speak with Cai Lyrelle again. Yzzy, I did something a little rash extremely reckless. I wanted to be on good terms with Cai Shaan and defeating a sea monster was a good start, right? I asked the lord and got his permission to bring in a few guests at a time, for a safe, quiet stay, in that house he awarded us. I did make it quite clear that the guests would be some of our neighbours. No matter how quiet I stay, people do guess that we two are ambassadors of something.
Shelter is good, safety is good, but stagnation is not. I really don’t think that keeping to ourselves will be good in the long run. I’d be very obliged if you could let Ilva know that there is a safe place ready to welcome two or three of our neighbours at a time, and that I can be there with them. And that maybe she could egg them on a little.
Before you tell them anything, here are more important news. Yzzy, have you ever met half-drow? In Cai Shaan I was startled when a child ran up to me and asked if I was his mother, of all things. Not only that, but he actually looked like one of us. He lives alone with his father, who is a respectable wood elf. Their family did not encounter any notable problems in that city. The mother lived there. She vanished very mysteriously three decades ago. Cai Lyrelle had no more information for me. Does the name Savorai ring any bells at all for you? I hated not being able to answer his questions.
I was so torn. I think only you can understand how it felt for me to see that child. He’s lived his whole life here. He knows what is dangerous, but he feels none of our fears. He’s never been touched by the shadows. He is curious about us. Although too young to travel very far, he has the right to meet us, and to learn more about half of his origins. I couldn’t stand it if that knowledge changed him.
He looks enough like us to be seen like one of us. That gives us the answer to a long-standing question. I’m not sure I wanted to know it.
Your letter made my mouth water for cheese and crackers. May the cheese reward you with magnificent flavour when you taste it together with everyone. I hope I can taste it with all of you and that we can make more batches and I can bring samples on my travels to share with others. I just want to be home and enjoy those with you and make more plans.
For the moment we seem to be heading for Ur Deyn. It’s a pity to leave Cai Shaan so hurriedly in the middle of forming bonds, but our human Anthony has trouble brewing. Even though I don’t entirely understand it, he is valiant and intelligent and I will stand by his side, and that trip will bring me closer to you.
Until we meet again, all my love to you, star of my nights.
Tally

So I've been working on a Thing. Ever since our dear friend, Yeet's rper, went: "you know, I think a WorldAnvil would be good for you!" I read up on it and was all: "this gets backed up to eight servers? Wow! No more freaking out because I overwrote one city's doc with another's, or because I lost a stat block!" (still haven't found the latter, RIP.) Anyway, rambling aside: here's our WIP WorldAnvil! Feel free to write blurbs for your own player characters/animal sidekicks/NPCs/etc and send them through to me so I can add them in. I figure this will be helpful for those of you who feel a bit like: a) I throw too many NPC names at you and then you can't remember who anyone is and we're having a conversation in-game and you're feeling awkward like "hmmm....if I just stay quiet and pretend...hopefully I will not be noticed." b) Just stuff in general is tricky to keep track of and it would be nice to have a reference. EuroAtlantis: World
I am limiting this to what the PCs know or could reasonably know- for example, while there's not really anything else in Na Cuvae's article, the ruler's name is listed because that's something the party could plausibly have heard in passing.
