*totally not my proof that I'll remember to make these threads even when I don't have anything published in this issue* Late at night, thunder crashed around outside the little bars of my cage. The pound wasn’t a nice place, let me tell you. Dr. Shtalker would make his rounds every day, collecting the pets who had been there for the longest, and taking them to his lab, cackling with joy, and every day I hoped I wouldn’t be one of those pets who never returned. - hazelsmartotop ArticlesSnaw's Beauty Post: Shampoos That Shine! by downrightdude Short StoriesNone ComicsNone SeriesNeovia's Corruption by trishabeakens The Editorial this week seems a bit heavy on "no idea, I'll pass that on and try to find out", which, while appreciated, rather sounds to me like these things get put together last minute without enough time to actually talk to other staffers about answers. But Donny's Corner continues to be a feature, which continues to be excellent. *** holy heck, that quote of the week is grim. All comics in this week's issue seem to be broken as of now. Did someone go durr or did the servers break? I keep having this feeling that one of these very upcoming weeks, there won't be any NTWF entries left in the issue. Not that it's a problem for discussion threads, I can still happily throw out thoughts about comics I liked. Once they stop being broken xD

All comics in this week's issue seem to be broken as of now. Did someone go durr or did the servers break? Hoo boy, this again xP Hopefully they at least fix the comics in a timely manner; last time the comics went bork the editor didn't get around to fixing them until MONTHS later. And that may actually have been because a new editor took over >> Yeah, it'll happen every now and then. I think that may have been part of the reason I got rid of lists a while back, just so the beginning post wouldn't look too bare xD But yeh, thankfully the whole issue is still open, so plenty to talk about! \o/ But yeahh, might have to wait out this one for a little bit before a ton of discussion, to see if the comics will come back at all x3

I went back and read the comics now that they've come out, and this one in particular intrigued me. Silver's Reset Challenge #1You take a basic level 1 pet from the pound, and without using any existing Neopoints or items, set goals and improve your Neopet. The idea is to play more like when you were a newbie, sort of start from scratch. Their petpage has more info here: www.neopets.com/~Silver_214The idea intrigues me, and I might consider doing it, especially with that new fifth pet slot waiting to be filled.

Their petpage has more info here: www.neopets.com/~Silver_214The idea intrigues me, and I might consider doing it, especially with that new fifth pet slot waiting to be filled. That is interesting, especially for ye olde players who've been around forever, and are probably a majority of the active playerbase these days. Extra props for the idea of expressing that through NT comics, I don't think I've ever seen something like that done before. The way I play the site is that I've slotted different pets into different goals. So my very first pet became my battlepet, since training her was one of those things I did as a newbie and so she got ahead of the others in terms of stats; another is the one I read all books to and one is the one with all Fishing Vortex points. So I'm not sure if I'd approach that challenge as though my other pets don't exist and then try to improve All The Everything, the way I did as a newbie, or slot that challenge pet into some aspect of the site I haven't tried yet. While I'm at it, I went through the now-available comics myself and man, Zurroball by _quartervirus_ is really really pretty. Aaaall those details and dynamics and backgrounds and woah. ...except I uh, didn't get the punchline. In terms of punchline, my favorite was probably Nice First Impression.

Ooh, nice! I'd seen that player post about their Neopets challenge on the boards and elsewhere, but I didn't know they were also making comics for it! I'll be interested to see what else comes of it in the future! I don't know if I ever had a certain way of playing Neopets, it's always just sorta been going with whatever comes my way without a consistent strategy x3 My current account was primarily made for the comic series, so I was never too concerned with my pets' stats outside of what would be IC for them, but before the twillieblossom account, I think it was safe to say I had no idea what I was doing xD (which probably describes my whole internet experience really) Mostly I would make small goals of "Wow it'd be nice to get my pets painted!" and then randomly one day buy a cheap paint brush I happened to come across because "Woah when will this chance ever come by me again??" Or one day I discover that omg, you can make a shop?? and then throw in random items to make a few NP now and then x3 I never even touched stuff like stocks or the boards before getting my current account. And eyyy, it's crainwater with the Zurroball comic! Nice to see her work in the NT again ^^ Although I will admit I'm the same as you Huntress in that I don't quite get the ending. And lol, that's a cute other comic x3 I can't stop staring at the Jubjub's extra long legs @.@ I've been following this comic series after having a nice chat with the author on the boards, and I think they're pretty cute so far! Especially the baby Korbat, I cannot get over how adorable it is >w< These two comics also got me just with how dramatically they're drawn xD The language one might get a bit tedious just with how many panels there are showing basically the same thing, but I think the ending panel still pays off x3 (plus pteri, not that I'm biased >>)
