Walking, walking, walking, walking, sleeping, snoring.... Kuzen had been walking along the river side for a while heading towards the meeting location, but fell asleep along the way. He stood in place, like a statue. A statue that was snoring. A couple of small birds sat on his head, using the bowl of water on it like a bird bath. They chatted to each other about rumors, best worm locations, their chicks, and other news on the island. It was during a particular noisy chat about a bird with beautiful tail feathers like a heavenly flame that Kuzen woke up. Kuzen shakes his head and falls over, loosing his water. He's grows instantly weak, but it doesn't matter since he falls into the river. Now fully awake and re-powered he looks around. He shakes his webbed handed fist at the birds. "I told you to stop using my head as a watering hole!" He sighs and realizes that he should have been swimming up the river in the first place, it was much faster then walking. Water was his specialty, even going upriver wasn't going to be a issue. He begins swimming in the direction of the meeting area. Kuzen is used as a bird bath. Birds gossip especially about a certain fire bird ( Celestial) XD The kappa realizes that swimming is faster then walking, even if it's upstream!

“You prey have absolutely no idea of the ordeals that I am put through on a daily basis. What is someone such as myself supposed to do when there is a tasty treat on my left, and a supple snack to my right?! There’s so much prey to sample and so little time.”Ah, yes - such a hard life, at the top of the food chain. How was one to survive with no predators to hunt them down and eat them? It was a tragedy, it was. Just a tragedy. “Not for me though, I think I might be immortal? You know, nobody really tells you these things. How is one to know for certain that their life lasts forever? I once had a delightful acquaintance who was certain of his immortality.” The lion paused a moment, then continued. “But then I ate him, so I suppose that can’t have been true. A pity, really.”...Eating someone would make it hard to prove they were immortal, Jack couldn't help but agree. After all, immortal only meant living forever - not necessarily that one was invulnerable as well. He took the lull in the lion's speech to make a comment, and promptly in return had the lion crouch to face him once more. Jack instinctively tensed, ready to run at a moment's notice as the lion spoke again. “I just knew I was right not to devour you whole. You know, I think having some level of expertise in prey relations would be exceptionally beneficial to my future upon this Island. And I believe that you’re just the little guy for the job. You simply must impart with me your wisdom!”A...job? Doing... what exactly? A go-between between predator and prey? Or just... the "token prey-guy" for the lion to prove how Kind and Benevolent and Accepting Of All he was? The lion began to stoke his mane as he spoke. “Any predator such as myself can tell that your father probably contains the most meat, although I bet that your mother’s is the most supple. But with you by my side, the expert knowledge will bring me new feasts and friends alike!” he added, beginning to prance around in the grass, flattening it. ...So someone to squeal on the others and tell who the best prey was. Right. Uh-huh, sure; like that would happen. But, best not to dismiss things quite yet. He still might be able to somehow use this to his advantage, he thought, if he were careful. Jack then mentioned, in passing, a tigress he had heard of - and the result was the lion's thighs thundering to the ground, along with the rest of him. “You know, I have heard of such a tigress. I once spied her in the distance, but she seemed far too intimi-
“That is to say, I’m unsure if her particular qualities would be compatible as a mate to the leader of Naelus.”(...Oh-ho-ho, so he was intimidated by her, was he? Jack filed that information away, in hopes it might be useful later.) “But you do have some incredibly astute views on the world. I am stunning. And great too. Also Majestic. You missed awe-inspiring, though.” Calix’s tail wagged madly in the air. “I think you and I are going to change the world, delicious friend!”"I must humbly beg your forgiveness, then," Jack replied, bowing. "I shall not forget it a second time." As for changing the world... well. Jack supposed he'd have to wait and see on that. Suddenly standing up formally, the lion held out a paw to pat the little creature on the head. “My name is Calix, soon-to-be ruler of this fair land. Now how about we head to my meeting while you regale me with more proclamations regarding how shimmering I am!”"They call me Jack," Jack replied, smoothing the fur on his head back into place with a few swipes of his paw. "And as you command, my shimmering liege - simply lead the way, and your humble follower shall follow." This post brought to you by snack-sized chocolate bars and this song on repeat. \ o / Jack talks more with Calix ( Jayeee ) and agrees to go with him to "his" meeting. (...I also really really hope I didn't mess with the timelines of our posts too much; it's like 4am and I'm just trying to make everything flow together, hah. ='D)

“Uh, y-yeah, we’re all headed for the meeting,” Kopi said nervously. He wished he didn’t come off as apprehensive. “I take it you’re going as well?”"Certainly. Have to see what this fuss is about and all that," Algernon continued. "My companion here believes in strength in numbers, whereas I postulate that whereas we would be forming a safer group, it does increase the chances of one of the group could be this nefarious murderer. Thus, increasing our relative danger rather than lowering. What say you?" He looked around quizzically at Kopi, Tash, and Lacintell. René shot him a look from his branch. "Straight to the point, eh, Al?" He turned to the nervous firebird. "I'm...the embodiment of the fire of heavens. It burns within me and my plumes reflect that," he glanced sideways at René. "Your feathers are nice too. We are both the same colours, except I have no green. You look like the a rainbow,""Ah-ha, that must keep you warm in the winter!" He gave a cheerful squawk. "As Al said, I'm all for us travelling as a group, although there's no need to be so high strung, the only thing Al is a threat to is your energy, you'll soon be asleep if you listen to him for too long." "I heard that." René grinned and turned again to Svar. "What's got you so afraid anyway? Sure, the murder is a little shocking, but there's no need to be on edge constantly." Al and René converse with the rag tag group in the woods ( @cestial Rabbit ♠ Kozma )

The monkey, Algernon, made a fair assessment of the situation. Svar has heard he was highly intelligent due to human experiments. It made him both sympathetic and nervous: though Algernon would have known what it was like to be captured, who could even guess what the humans did to him? Their ingenuity was as boundless as their cruelty. However, his musings were interrupted by the macaw who spoke to him earlier. "Ah-ha, that must keep you warm in the winter!" René squawked. Svar looked away, melancholy. "Yes, I suppose it does," he remarked and lowered his voice. "It is not enough to offset the misfortune that they bring." René, not hearing his murmurs, continued to chatter. "As Al said, I'm all for us travelling as a group, although there's no need to be so high strung, the only thing Al is a threat to is your energy, you'll soon be asleep if you listen to him for too long," he said. Svar could only wish he could fully believe that. Even if he wanted to, his nerves would never allow him to relax. It was never safe. Not even, it seemed, on Naelus. "What's got you so afraid anyway? Sure, the murder is a little shocking, but there's no need to be on edge constantly."Svar flinched. "You wouldn't know," he spat out reflexively before shrinking down. "Or maybe you would. Your kind was also hunted by humans. The difference is that my mind was treated as a living quest goal, just a thing for the humans to bring back to show how great they were. And once that was done, they would throw us in a cage for eternity," his voice grew fainter and fainter as his spoke, and a dullness appeared in his eyes. "I was caught and trapped like that several times. Never again." Svar talks to Rene( Thundy) about his trauma with humans. Kopi and Lacintell ( Rabbit ♠, Kozma) are also there.

Taakeyrr said, “If they were out spreading the news this morning, I’m sure they’ll be at the meeting, too. They’re definitely small enough to be in danger.” The field around them and the skies above and the water at Soaitsae’s flank were filling with other animals. Taakeyrr looked around as stealthily as she could; some of these animals she and her family had encountered while trekking through the Endless Meadow, but many were species she had only ever seen from a distance, or never seen at all. Lots of mammals, of course; cats and hoofed creatures and canines and creatures that looked like cats or canines but were actually marsupials, a lone Megaloceros like the one Quicksnap had mentioned earlier... There were other kinds of animals, too - massive lizards, (though none so big as Quicksnap), winged but flightless birds, a Meiolania dragging it’s long, menacing tail through the grass - and the birds, of course, a plethora of which Taakeyrr didn’t recognize. She wasn’t sure whether to be more nervous, or curious. “Hmph. Would almost be an impressive migration if this all weren’t so grim.”“I always forget how many animals are on the island,” Taakeyrr agreed. “I wonder if they’ve all ever come to one place before.” “Hopefully everyone will fit where we’re going,” Soaitsae remarked with a touch of amusement. “Or the taller of us might have to act as perches.” Taakeyrr hoped that wasn’t the case. But at least being surrounded by all these different animals meant that the murderer - even murderer s, if there were more than one - probably wouldn’t dare try anything. So hopefully, this would be a chance to get to the bottom of things, once and for all. Just a concludy post for Taak and Soaitsae; mostly posting it now because it took so long to research/write. Taakeyrr notices some of the other animals heading the same awy. This post brought to you in spite of the internet here, which kept going off every time I tabbed back into my writing document C= ( Shinko)

The taniwha smiled despite himself. Roda's enthusiasm and curiosity were contagious. "The Crystal Crags are lovely, but I'm confident you'd find the shore even better. The scent of salt on the air as you warm yourself against the dry sand is the most perfect feeling in the world." Kohimu listened intently to her story. It was always interesting to hear the myths and legends of different creatures- so different to the ones he'd grown up with, of Rangi and Papa and Tane Mahuta, and of Maui taming the sun. Maybe not so different from Maui- this Denzell seemed like a hero in the same vein. "I like that story too," he said. "Do you know more stories about Denzell, Roda? We can take turns sharing stories. It'll be a nice way to pass the time." Kohimu suggests a storytelling session! June Scarlet I know we won't get to continue this before the round ends, but it's fun to imagine them walking and talking and sharing stories!

With the commotion of the fall, Inara had temporarily forgotten about Dara. But once she was back on her feet, she remembered. As she was about to call for them to ask whether they were okay, they spoke. Inara was relieved to see the octopus safely hanging on a branch above them. Except… wait a second. If Dara was up there… why did she still feel something on her back? “I’m so sorry! I must have been so startled - I use ink when escaping, you see, but had no time to think, or aim - it washes out, I promise! I will fetch something to clean you up right this instant.”Inara’s eyes went wide in horror. “My coat!” She cried. She knew it had been an accident, but vain as she was, she was very proud of her pearlescent coat and was quite upset to find out it had been stained. She walked in a tight circle, craning her neck, trying to observe the damage, but it was no use. It was in a spot she couldn’t see. She whimpered. “Recaito, be honest with me, how bad is it?!” She asked her deer friend, distraught. Soon enough, Dara was back with tools to mop up the ink off Inara’s coat. She sulked quietly as her friend worked at it. She hoped it would all come off, like Dara promised. It would be really embarrassing to arrive at the meeting with a black stain. She almost would prefer not to attend than to show up like that. She wondered if Recaito would let Dara ride on his back instead the rest of the way. She wasn’t sure he’d trust them enough for that; they had just met, after all. But Inara could put in a good word for her octopus friend. She just didn’t want to take any more chances. Inara is very vain and gets pretty upset about the ink stain on her coat. She gloomily lets Dara ( Liou ) mop it up, hoping it'll come off completely because she doesn't want to be seen like that at the meeting, and wonders if Recaito ( Mostly Harmless (flufflepuff) ) will let Dara ride on his back the rest of the way instead.

Round 2: A Crowded Clearing The sun was sinking low on the horizon, now little more than a golden circle behind the mist wall. It’s lingering warmth painted the sky brilliant shades of gold and pink, while the shadows stretching upon the island gave everything a purplish cast, like fresh bloomed heather. Not quite as purple as the prose Genevieve the sphynx cat was chattering, but purple nonetheless. Makell had been hoping deep in her heart to befriend the little cat, but she was starting to seriously question if that impulse had been a good idea. Taken with the constant cacophany of the birds overhead and the travelling animals all around, the little cat’s inane chattering was giving the tigress a devil of a headache. And the brightness of the sunset reflected on the river wasn’t helping. The glittering brightness was like a dagger in her eyes, exacerbating the pain in her already throbbing skull. Shut up…“Ah, our destination is near at hand!” Genevieve mewled, drawing Makell briefly out of her thoughts. “Look there, it seems they have yet to begin the proceedings. Glorious, with the onset of dusk I was starting to fret that we would be tardy!” The tigress barely processed this at all. She moaned, pawing at her face and squeezing her eyes shut. “Uuugh…” “Is something ailing you?” Genevieve asked, a tremor of concern threading into her voice. “I… I…” Makell’s voice was slurred. The pain in her skull was worse now, and she longed for oblivion to take her away and the pain with it. It was getting harder and harder to think coherently. “What’s wrong?” came a new voice, and the tigress turned to see more animals coming up behind her- a giant crocodile, a pair of dinosaurs, a lizardlike creature with a squirrel-thing on its back… The speaker- one of the dinosaurs- stepped forwards, though he kept a polite distance. “Are you sick?” “I feel…” Makell was pawing at her face with claws unsheathed now, tail lashing. “I… make it stop… make it stop…” You can’t trust anyone, you can’t trust anyone, this is what happens when you trust, when you try to make friends-She staggered, all of her claws out now, fur standing on end, fangs bared. With a startled hiss Genevieve darted away from the Tigress, ducking behind the dinosaur. “Back up,” the crocodile called sharply, unease in every cell of his body. “Something’s wrong with her, we need to back up.” “Wrong w-with me?” Makell snarled, blue eyes wild. “No, nothing’s wrong with me. It’s you- it’s all of you! Liars, thieves, murderers-” “Woah, what’s going on?” Creatures were starting to emerge from within the woods, a unicorn, an octopus, and a huemul deer taking the lead. The tigress whirled, her eyes locking on them. “Sneaking up on me from behind?” she roared, the pain in her mind ebbing, giving way to a thick, blanketing cloud of darkness. “I’ll show you!” She leapt, lunging towards the unicorn. All the gathered animals cried out in panic and dismay. One, however, acted. As he had done earlier the same day, Recaito barged into his friend, sending the unicorn sprawling to the ground. Unable to bring his soft, velvety antlers around in time to mount any sort of defense, he could do nothing but bleat in pain as the predator’s fangs found his unguarded throat. The other animals who had arrived for the meeting managed to beat the tiger off and restrain her, but their efforts were far, far too late. Recaito the huemul lay dead in the grass. Makell, an innocent resident, is now CORRUPTED. Recaito, an innocent resident, is now DEAD. Optional Scenario: The animals of Naelus are having a meeting at the point where the Winding River meets the Highwind Woods.Try to think up a solution to the murders- or panic and fling accusations, that works too!

Soaitsae took half a step forward as the tiger whirled around - but any advantage he might have had from the cat’s back being turned vanished when she leaped, taking her much farther than the dilophosaur could have hoped to cover in that time. The deer was faster - fortunately for his unicorn friend...not so fortunate for him. Soaitsae drew back his step with a bird-like cry of alarm at the same moment the smell of blood hit Taakeyrr’s nose, and a cacophony of startled noise and exclamations erupted from the gathered animals. Some animals were fast enough to intervene - Soaitsae looked like he wanted to help, but then looked down at his claws and clacked his jaws together like he was remembering his fangs, and Taakeyrr felt frozen. Another dilophosaur, however, was not so hesitant. Bigger, broader, both the red and beyond-purple on her crest duller than Soaitsae or Taakeyrr’s, the third dilophosaur joined the fray and helped pull the tiger off her victim. She drew back once there was some semblance of order, and her orange-gold eyes turned briefly to her father and sister, with a brief landing on Quicksnap. But Xsabaskis let their gazes go after only a brief second, focusing back on the tiger again; they’d been dismissed. Taakeyrr might not have noticed even if her sister had been summoning the two of them. She kept seeing the pouncing tiger over and over again in her mind. Faster than she would have expected, stronger, too, and the way she’d been acting right before - Taakeyrr turned to the smaller creature who had been with the tiger up until Soaitsae had stepped forward. She didn’t know what the animal was, it had unusual skin, but identifying it was hardly Taakeyrr’s top concern at the moment. “What - what was that? She was sick?” Her eyes darted to Quicksnap before going back to the little animal. “What happened?” Soaitsae and Taakeyrr cannot stop Makell ( Nova) from attacking. Xsabaskis makes her appearance helping to haul the tiger off how dare you disrespect your writer’s namesake, Xsabaskis!. She makes eye contact with her family but nothing more than that for the time being, just kinda hovers near the tiger. Taakeyrr asks Geneveive ( Coaster), and also a little bit Quicksnap ( Shinko) in a bit of a panic what the heck happened. Kasai ( Twillie) might be there or at least approaching.

It didn't take long before Kuzen finally made it to the woods. It only took him a couple naps and a cucumber break, but he had finally made it. He swam to the shore, his head slowly lifting out of the water. He barely placed his webbed hand on the riverside when all sorts of excitement was happening. He wasn't quite sure what had happened or what was going on, most of it wasn't visible from the spot he was climbing out of. He moved slower, inching his way into a small bush by the water. He lurked in it watching the other creatures of the island. His wet hand touching something fuzzy. "Oh great, now I'm wet." Kuzen slowly turned his head to see that Quokka from earlier. He was frowning at Kuzen, but looked back at the meeting. The kappa looked at the quokka and back at the others as well. "What happened here? I thought this was supposed to be a meeting." "The big cat attacked. Not sure why. Tension maybe? Dark conspiracy? No telling really... This is the start, we're all doomed. Doomed I tell tell you! I'm just going to hide here in this bush until things calm down and I'm out of here. I'm going home, barricading the entrance, and not coming out until this is all over!" The quokka turns his head to see Kuzen sleeping, head drooping trying to stay upright. He snaps awake and looks around, especially at the still frowning marsupial. "What happened here?" The quokka groans but remains silent, turning his attention back to the others. Kuzen shrugs and slowly steps out to get a closer look and some answers. He inches his way closer and closer to some of the other animals, the least dangerous looking ones. Kuzen arrives to the meeting area, but stays hidden at first and runs into the nameless frowning quokka again. When he asks about what happened he tries to explain...
Kuzen sleeps through it all, then decides to get closer to some of the others.

"And ever since, Scimons have had one tail instead of two," Roda said, concluding her story as she rode Kohimu to the meeting place. "And it looks like we're here. You'll have to tell the next story when we meet again." The meeting was well attended. So many creatures of the island condensed to one spot. Roda looked for her sister among the scimons attending. What would she think of the taniwha Roda had befriended? *** Julaine was already at the meeting, waiting for her sister Roda to show up. And show up she did, on some kind of lizard-beast. Julaine just about fell off her branch. What in Naelus was Roda doing on such a fearsome creature? Julaine doubted she could even approach such a being, let alone ride it. Another scimon scampered up the tree beside her. Julaine immediately looked around for danger, and spotted a tiger with their claws out, agitated. Julaine climbed another branch higher, not taking any chances. She heard the animals cry out in shock as an attack happened, and kept climbing. Finally, from very high in the tree, Julaine looked down at the scene. Some of the larger creatures had pinned down the tiger, and a huemul deer lay dead. "This is supposed to be a truce zone, a no hunting area," yelled Julaine from her perch, to the crowd at large. "If the tiger doesn't respect this law, then perhaps we need look no further to find our culprit." Roda finishes a scimon tale as Kohimu Thorn takes her to the meeting. Julaine is already there, and is rather shocked to see Roda riding a scary taniwha. Julaine notices another scary predator is agitated, and goes higher in her tree for safety reasons, and good thing too, as the tiger attacks someone. Julaine suggests to the crowd that the tiger might be behind the killings if they don't respect truce zones. Julaine didn't have the best view of what happened, so she doesn't know about the corruption aspect of what happened.

Words had departed rather swiftly--as well as whatever steadiness she had regained after warming up and drying off--when Genevieve's companion lashed out and reminded her why she avoided taking sapient prey. Though she tried to regain her nerves with a re-count of how few lives of hers might remain after that incident, if her studdering by the large bird-like leg behind which she instinctually retreated was anything to go by, having trouble getting past the "wh-wh-wh--" of "one" was not a particularly promising indication. Subsequently, following recognition that the bird-shield she had retreated behind was in fact a large reptilian carnivore that she assumed could equally likely mistake her for a vulnerable rat, several days of that life might have been snuffed out as well. However, as she--frozen in place--witnessed how another of its kin safely restrained the tiger without harming her, she regained enough of her composure to view the scene without the urge to flee or collapse dominating every thought, though she did back away with a few quivering steps. As she faced the rest of the group from whence her protectors came, another of the dinosaurs accosted her. “What - what was that? She was sick?” Her eyes darted to Quicksnap before going back to the little animal. “What happened?”The sounds of a creature in the bushes shrieking of impending doom did not aid Genevieve's struggle to regain coherence whatsoever. "W-We--we were traveling along the river, when--perhaps heat stroke? But fur is supposed to help regulate--is the meeting going to address?--er-hem;" Trying to steady herself, she took a few ragged breaths and decided that brevity might be in everyone's best interests, for once. "She suddenly looked weak; the crowd drew in; she--she bristled, clawed... paranoid, attacked ruthlessly, the teeth, pounce--" Brevity, it seems, was failing to communicate much of anything. Granted, she hardly had anything to contribute to begin with. "She was... downcast, perhaps, not unhealthy. Good listener. Alone, when we met around midday, and never seen her prior, as I'm certain I would have recognized that gorgeous--er-hem. Perhaps not the time." She paused and glanced at the grisly scene, hearing the birds of the forest repeat their chant with newfound vigor. A voice from in the trees followed soon after, "This is supposed to be a truce zone, a no hunting area. If the tiger doesn't respect this law, then perhaps we need look no further to find our culprit.""I cannot read her mind, and she's hardly in a state to explain, but coming from upriver, it seems unlikely she caused the incident that brought us here to begin with. Hopefully, we can at least ascertain what motivated this murder, before we try to impose a connection with any others." Genevieve is understandably really scared and rather incoherent, but tries to respond to Taakeyrr and co. ( Tiger) anyways. (edit due to long time writing post oops) She disagrees with Julaine ( June Scarlet)'s accusation.

This is what you get for being too indecisive…Leaves and branches whistled past his ear as if they were nothing but wind. Kasai rushed through the forest, the gradually setting sun behind him a constant ticking timer reminding him of the little time he had left. I’m gonna be late, I’m gonna be late…Hunting had eaten up more of his time and attention than he had first anticipated-- unfortunately for him, the chattering of the birds and own nagging in his head had made for too good of distractions when trying to stalk, and when he had finally caught some small game between his paws, the idea of killing suddenly put a sour taste in his mouth… No matter that now, though. After a disappointing time in the forest and having to retell it all to Sei at home, who then finally decided to refuse the meeting invitation, Kasai had to high tail it through the expanse of the woods when he realized how late it had gotten. Now his feet moved swiftly enough that they seemed not to touch the ground- actually, they hardly did indeed. Kasai’s tail- now accompanied by two others- billowed behind him with greater length and volume than it normally had, catching the air currents around Kasai and lifting him with them. His transforming powers came in most useful when he had to get somewhere fast, as he was practically flying- well, perhaps more like gliding- to his destination now. Thankfully the wind direction was on his side this time. Soon. I’ll get there soon. Kasai promised to himself. --- Perhaps he shouldn’t have been too eager to get to the meeting, though. Kasai broke through the treeline soon enough, and was immediately greeted by by an intense scene. A crowd of creatures, shouting and snarling and screaming. Screaming in pain. Someone had fallen over, and close to them- blood! The smell of blood filled the air, filled Kasai’s nostrils before he even knew what was happening. One second, the pained bleating of a trapped creature, the next, their silence as the crowd’s own exclaiming took its place. Kasai caught a glimpse of of the commotion’s source; a large tiger stood poised for attack, blood staining her curled back lip. At her feet, the remains of a deer-like creature. Kasai gulped, his own hooves digging into the ground nervously. The crowd immediately started to restrain the tiger, and Kasai found himself frozen in place as he watched. Should he help? How would he? Would it be better just to run, get somewhere safe? Or would that be too cowardly? What had even happened to cause all this? “What - what was that? She was sick? What happened?”When Kasai heard his own thoughts being spoken aloud, he twitched an ear in the direction it came and spotted a couple of creatures talking to each other. One of them, what seemed to be the one who had asked, was a mid-sized dinosaur- di-dilophasaur, was it? with brown and yellow feathers draping down her body. She was facing a small hairless cat, who seemed to be answering her question, and Kasai stepped in closer to listen as well. "W-We--we were traveling along the river, when--perhaps heat stroke? But fur is supposed to help regulate--is the meeting going to address?--er-hem;"So, the killing was not of her own volition? The dilo had mentioned something about being sick, was that what had happened…? "She suddenly looked weak; the crowd drew in; she--she bristled, clawed... paranoid, attacked ruthlessly, the teeth, pounce--" Kasai cringed slightly at this, catching the fresh murder scene from the corner of his eye. She suddenly looked weak… Kasai didn’t understand. Was it against her will? An act? Another creature seemed to voice aloud his thoughts again as they concluded that the culprit behind the murders perhaps had been discovered. "I cannot read her mind, and she's hardly in a state to explain, but coming from upriver, it seems unlikely she caused the incident that brought us here to begin with. Hopefully, we can at least ascertain what motivated this murder, before we try to impose a connection with any others."The hairless cat thought otherwise, though, and Kasai couldn’t help but internally acknowledge the point of not to start accusing so soon. From the sounds of it, this whole scene was fishy at best… “I, uh…” Kasai was hesitant to speak up. He knew none of these other creatures. “The meeting. That’d be the best place to figure all that out, right? I- I don’t know that tiger well at all, but maybe someone else does? Surely someone would have a better idea of what might have come over her, i-if it was a sickness or not. “In the meantime, do we know what we’re gonna do about…. All this?” He stole just a glance at the scene before them, of the restrained snarling tiger and victim of her sharp teeth. “ Kasai rushes to the meeting, inadvertently making himself late after an unsuccessful hunting trip. He travels across the forest by catching the wind via transformation, aka he ribbons out his body to be more aerodynamic (plus he gets to show all his tails now!) One he finds some other creatures heading to the meeting, though, he suddenly has regrets going out. He catches the tail end of the killing as Makell is being restrained, and he listens in on a conversation between Tiger and Coaster to better figure out what happened. He wonders aloud if the meeting will help figure out Makell's possible motivations or conditions, and asks what they're going to do about the murder scene in the meantime.

The small blue rabbit had deposited their stick burden upon arriving at the meeting place, leaving Morag to explore wherever she so chose and laying out their leaf with the assortment of mochi. They’d already shared a little bit with some of the gathered birds and a particularly scared looking mastedon, and where about to hop around to some of the others with their bundle when the trouble started. “Gollygosh,” Mochi whispered, ears flattened and fur bristling with horror as the tiger was finally pulled away. “That was… crazy. Way crazy.” Everyone else seemed to think so too; many where whispering and panicking; the mastedon had fled the clearing entirely. “Um… I have… I have some mochi? If anybody wants?” the rabbit said timidly, holding up their armload. They weren’t sure anybody was really listening, but it was the principle of the thing. * * * Quicksnap’s golden eyes were glazed with shock as he watched the huemul fall, blood spattering the mammal’s fur. He remembered all too well another pelt drenched in scarlet, and he retched, looking away as the others moved to restrain the tiger. “Sick?” He repeated in response to Taakeyrr’s question, then shuddered. “Oh, she was sick alright. If she was in her right mind enough for that to be an act, why kill with so many witnesses around at all?” The cat seemed to confirm, albeit shakily, that the tigress had suddenly started acting ill out of nowhere. However others seemed less convinced. "This is supposed to be a truce zone, a no hunting area," yelled Julaine from her perch, to the crowd at large. "If the tiger doesn't respect this law, then perhaps we need look no further to find our culprit."The confused emotions in Quicksnap solidified and found focus in a ice cold dagger of pure outrage. “And perhaps you shouldn’t jump to conclusions!” Quicksnap- well snapped. “Did any one of you lot come down to the Waterfall Basin to see the body that we all were called here today to discuss? No. Nobody came to see it. I know because I was there, I found it. She was my friend! I sat with her for hours. None of you saw, none of you cared to see!” The stalked out further to address the crowd, trembling with barely held-in grief. His voice, when it emerged, was raw and wet sounding. “I saw her. And her wounds weren’t from a tiger’s claws or fangs. Who or whatever killed her, it wasn’t this tiger!” Pulling himself back in hand, he sighed, looking back at the small hairless cat, the dilophosaurs, and a newcomer- a little fox-thing “I, uh…” Kasai was hesitant to speak up. He knew none of these other creatures. “The meeting. That’d be the best place to figure all that out, right? I- I don’t know that tiger well at all, but maybe someone else does? Surely someone would have a better idea of what might have come over her, i-if it was a sickness or not.”Quicksnap rumbled in agreement. “We need to… calm down. And figure this out.” “In the meantime, do we know what we’re gonna do about…. All this?”To that, Quicksnap had no answer. He looked back at Taakeyrr and Soaitsae- their kindred was helping to restrain the tiger, after all, and they might be able to offer some input. Mochi arrived at the meeting a bit before the narratorpost started, and is around with noms if anyone wants to engage them. Meanwhile, Quicksnap addresses Tiger, Coaster June Scarlet and Twillie. He asserts that he does think something was wrong with Makell, and refutes Julaine’s conclusion that Makell is The Murderer because he saw Beech’s body and her injuries weren’t from a tiger mauling. He’s maybe a twee accusey about it, considering he wants the murder got to the bottom of and not dismissed on circumstantial evidence. (And he’s still grieving of course, which doesn’t help his politeness points). Realizing he needs to calm down, he looks to the dilophosaurs for suggestions on how to handle the mad tiger. (Though of course anybody else is also free to have input, including said tiger herself Nova)

It hurts… it hurts so bad… She shook her head, trying to rid her brain of the immense pain she was in. She couldn’t see, the last thing she remembered was inhaling the colour purple. It felt like her limbs were being strangled. Then she realized she could taste something in her mouth. It tasted, well… it tasted like blood. Suddenly her eyes opened. Her head pounding at the light it was suddenly taking in, and before her everything was blurry. She could make outlines of the different animals standing far away from her, but that was it. She could feel the rage inside her. A rage that was never felt before. Sure, she had a strong personality but never such anger, such violence. She tried to shake free but the crowd restraining her was too strong. She shook violently; again this newfound rage boiling to the surface as she roared in disapproval of her captivity. Her vision started to become clear. She could see Genevieve, a unicorn, a lion, a firebird, a two-headed dragon and a dog. And there, laying in the grass, a a huemul deer. The memory came back to her in an instant. She killed a deer. She killed him with her bare teeth. Now she roared again, but in anguish. An overpowering feeling of guilt and shame. She cried out to the crowd, believing her to be a cold-blooded killer, but they could only hear a tiger’s roar. She used her energy to clear her mind. To clear her head of this rage, of such impure and horrifying thoughts. A tear dropped onto her cheek as she gave up trying to break free of those restraining her. “Please,” she whispered. “Help me.” And then the rage overtook her mind once more. Makell 'wakes up', having blacked out as she killed Recaito. Rage and corruption infiltrates her mind, and it takes all of her energy to cast it outside. She cries as she remembers she killed someone, and asks weakly for help.
