I haven't been up-to-date on recent trends for when the Times updates, because I've been on a bit of a hiatus, but I want to write a story and yesterday (Friday) in the news it said the Neopian Times was "coming soon" rather than advertising new stories that were published, and it hasn't been updated yet. It looks like it also skipped last week, but I can forgive that since it was a holiday.
Also, I realize that a lot of the other spotlights didn't get updated this week. Does the staff have a day off or something?
Anyone know how often the NT actually updates on time before I pour my time into trying to make a series?

It's supposed to be every (non-major holiday) week, and yeah, I agree, the timing of this week's issue is weird. I even got an acceptance letter on either Tues and Wed saying that my entry was going to be published in the upcoming issue. I can only assume that it's either going to be sometime this weekend or on Monday; no idea what their working hours are, but I've gotten neomail replies from TNT at odd hours and on odd days. XD

The NT has been updating normally until this week. (They have never updated on holidays, so I don't really see that as a hiatus.) I'm guessing that some staffers took time off for the holidays and/or the plot and advent calendar put too much pressure on the staff present.

Well, there's a reason for the delay:
From the weekend's (well, it was found today) editorial:
