So my collab partner wanted to submit our entry earlier, and despite me thinking there'd be no way Scrappy would respond any time soon, she did! It got held over! I'm SO happy! But now I'm worried. What if because it's too early, our entry could get lost by the time the 800th issue comes rolling in? Has this happened before?
Did anyone else get held over and might be in the same boat as me?

From the editorial: Hi Scrappy! Question about the 800th issue. How will we know if our story is chosen to appear? I submitted an article requesting that it appears in the 800th issue, and it's being held over for a future edition of the NT. But since it's not specified which issue it will be in, I'm not sure whether I should be working on a new story or not. Is there a special message we get or anything letting us know we made it? Thank you!! ALRIGHT EVERYONE LISTEN UP I got lotssss of neomails and questions about this! Sorry to say but you're about to get a little cold, hard truth from Scraps. I have 4562958 submissions for the 800th issue. Yes, I counted that exact amount. If yours got held over, that is not a definite you will be in the issue but you are being considered. No, you should not submit something else. Unless I have specifically said it's okay or you have been rushing to finish something, I'm pretty much done accepting submissions for it! Sorry guys, but I got lotsssss on my plate (and I'm not just talking about pizza) so I would love to read all your stories and articles but I gotta put my foot down here. I love you all and your stories! Please don't hate me I'm only a normal Neopian like you! Sadly, even I don't have super powers, even though it seems like I do because I'm so awesome! (but I am working on attaining some) *evil grin* ----- I guess that answers my question. How sad.

Also, if she's gotten so many neomails, now I worry my question about fixing my broken comic got lost in the pile. Oh well.

A comic that has already been published or one that's being held over, June?
I'm a little sad and kind of relieved that I submitted mine when I did instead of waiting usually 3-4 weeks before the intended issue like I used to.

I noticed that editorial answer as well. Do you guys understand it that she will not consider any more entries for the 800th or that she is not inclined to see more entries by the same username?
Because if it is the former, it is weird considering it's more than a month away o.o

Time to work on the submission then

I was so worried last week when I read that the 800th issue was almost settled!
I finished a six-part series two weeks ago, and upon noticing that the most recently released issue had been 792, I thought to myself, "Hey - I might as well give myself a generous two weeks to edit and try to have an instalment in issue 800!" The next editorial seemed to dash my hopes. Then this latest one gave me a glimmer of hope again.
What an emotional rollercoaster. Anyway, I've submitted it now, so I guess the final result is out of my hands.

Just thought I'd make people aware that issue 800 will not take place on the week of Sept 30, but the following (October 7). This is because Scrappy is on holiday next week and there will be no Neopian Times being published next week.

Congrats to everyone who's been accepted into the 800th issue! I'd almost lost hope but I got my acceptance Neomail on Thursday and I'm thrilled. I have a bit of a silly question about the avatar though... how is it usually awarded? Is there a specific page I need to visit, or do I need to sit tight and wait patiently for them to run a script, or should I have it already? (Which I don't.) I've been trying to Google an answer and can't seem to manage it, so if anyone has previous experience maybe you can help me out. Not that I've been in this just for an avatar I'm looking forward to trying to think of a new, good, story idea.

I think it's through a script; just sit tight and hopefully from now until the time we're through with the next week all prizes/avatars will be distributed
