It's the start of the month, which also means the start of Summer Cleaning! As with the traditions of the original Spring Cleaning, we have a fresh new update thread for all your summer achievements that you an update on a weekly basis. Teeechnically, this thread won't actually be used until next week, after you've had a chance to make progress on your lists, but there's no harm in being early, and a new thread can also bring some new motivation You can also find the old update thread here if you'd like to remind yourself of past progress, or if you're new and are curious what the weekly updates look like.

...Well, Tuesdays were my old update days, so why not keep that ball rollin'?
Despite having two weeks I uh. Haven't gotten too much done oops 8'D About 2k words added to Novel, and a little over 1k on Markus fic. In fairness to both those counts - I actually wrote a bunch more for Novel, I just wound up rewriting it so it's all crossed out; and I needed to do some plotting for Markus fic, which I've done. And I've actually been hitting my other goal of ~1k words per day, so, there's that.
Started trying to sketch Radha but gaaah humans are hard ;a; I should have made the Kulkarnis dragons or something.
Coloring art projects has been...difficult lately X'D What I used to do what put on an episode of a show or YouTube and color while working on that in the evenings...buuut lately I've been using my evenings for Overwatch-ing and that is not really a game that gives you breaktime to art. I'll have to figure something out I mean I do need to finish watching Arslan and catch up on Gotham why am i so fail at watching shows
I...actually hadn't looked at the list in a bit, though, and I see some stuff I should be able to do without too much trouble sometime this week, so, hopefully next Tuesday will be better 8D

Oops, I was going to make my update days Monday, but they slipped my mind. D= I'll still make it Monday because I don't feel like changing routine. I'll just have a shorter week is all. xD
I haven't done all that much either, but I did get some more of my room cleaned out (for item #1). Mostly donated more clothes, cleaned out some of the area on one of my tables, and finally put one of the things I have just lying around into the proper storage container. It's not much, but I have more space.
I need to do more cleaning, at least bit by bit. I see a few things I could move/clean/reconsolidate. And I feel better each time I make noticeable progress, so I really wanna do that.
Also need to get to the other things on my list, mostly reading and learning Python. Gonna try to put myself to task to that. Part of the reason that I didn't get much done last week was because real life became A Thing, Wrighton was also a thing I had to consider, and I decided to play an old game all the way through. xD Hopefully this week should make things more manageable, but we'll see. I'll at least try to get some room munging down.

I see I posted last... I can go again, though, I think?
Update day, I didn't do nearly as much as I wanted to. But I did get more cleaning done! Re-sorted things in a box, removed something I realized I no longer used, found a way to repurpose one of the empty boxes sitting around into a paper recycle bin for all the stuff I intend to throw out (I can throw out the box with it; convenient!), and cleared off more table-space. Still got a long way to go, though, and I'm getting to the point where everything laying around I want to take should probably be in a box so that I'm ready to move when the time comes and I don't have to do too much work.
...I didn't do anything else, but I'll count it as progress. This is one task where I'll likely technically finish before the end because I have to move before the end, but then it may stay on my list anyway until I'm finished moving in and unpacking enough for my tastes while not leaving a mess. After that point, then I can cross this off. (And then just resolve to not take up so much junk and continue throwing out what I don't need. Ahh, stuff, you're good to have but also terrible to have and I wish I didn't need so much.)

Heeey, let's just ignore the fact that this is late and enjoy the fact that I made some progress in these two weeks, woo! x'D
But hmm, I'll just do a run down of the list, see what I did and didn't touch upon...
-Cleaning my room? Haha, not even a little x')
-For movie catch up, I saw The Little Mermaid! I liked it better than I thought I would, although it also turned out to be more "made in 1989" than I thought as well, mostly in the animation and art style x) It's funny, the Disney movies I think will feel dated don't (Pinocchio), and those I don't expect, they look and feel completely different from what I thought (Little Mermaid). Not that that's a bad thing, just... different than what I expected x)
Also, bonus movie, but I saw Despicable Me 2 for the first time (having never watched the first one, and honestly I don't have a great interest to), so yay for my first Illumination movie? (it was okay, I guess)
-Wrighton posts have included a lot of collaborations recently, and hopefully we'll be able to finish our last monsterpost together!
-I'm making progress on my Blossoms script \o/ It's something that I haven't really talked about recently, but I have indeed still been writing and storyboarding and eventually sketching out the actual thing. I need something to do while cashiering at work, at least x)
-Greenless Rainbow I've also made some good headway in, albeit it's still all in my head and no final sketches or scripts (not that I'm expecting that right now). Namely, main character has something of a personality now! Which is much more of an accomplishment than it sounds xD
-Calendar's honestly been on the backburner lately, although I should pick up on that again soon. For summer, I have been very busy xD
-And other art stuff, I have indeed made and posted Wrighton stuff, although there are still some things for the rp that I need to finish. Getting there, though!

Howdy, Summer Cleaning thread, what's up? \ o / So, I finally updated my list today, so that's something anyway. x3 Added some things, removed some things. Nothing too radical. But I'm almost done with writing the Madge fic! =DDD The main part of the writing is now done, but I still need to finish a thing, and there'll probably be a rereading and editing spree. (The beginning suffers greatly from "Deeerrrp, how do characters," and the last chapter feels like it goes too fast, hmm.) But gwee, I feel like this has been the most fun I've had writing something in a long time. I hope it's actually up to snuff, but even if not, I had fun, so hey. xD I drew a doodle-sequel to my earlier writing-brain-space doodle comic from spring (reuploaded here because Dangit Photobucket).
I have yet to master the art of drawing dust cloud fighting. But now that I've gotten Madge to a good stopping point, maybe I can finally write Hannah again. xD (Sorry, Hannah. Tough competition.) Also, I changed the "Catch Up on Reading NT" on my list to "Get Up to Date on NT," because I've been thinking about it, and I maaaay just look for the highlights, because here's a confession: I have not read the NT comics consistently since I first got sick last summer. =D;;; I started catching up a little bit back then, but quickly got distracted by other things, and the issues kept piling up and piling up, which made it harder and harder, and the latter half of 2016 stank, basically. I've been kind of...very overwhelmed by the idea of trying to read an entire year's worth of Neopian Times comics, so I might just pick and choose instead? (Like, read the 50-marker issues, read some of these cool-looking Netwuff collab issues, and finally allow myself to read some people's comic arcs. If you have more suggestions for good comics not to be missed, please let me know! I want to be in the NT loop agaiiiin.)

Oops, did not update last week, aaaand I think I see why - between my last update and now, I have ordered photos for my photo frames (and even set them up woah), and done some more writing, and that's it =P
Writing did go pretty decently, though; added about another 1k+ to Markus fic (for +2,926 words total), and another ~3k on my novel (+5,422 total). I've actually fallen behind daily wordcount-wise, though; had a very busy weekend and haven't quite caught back up yet.

Approximately two weeks since I first posted my list and I've successfully completed one project - and not a minor one either! Jimmy's overalls are finished, and they even fit mostly! Just could be a little longer in the legs, which I might yet fix up... Anyway, saying that doesn't give much of an indication of progress actually made so I'll write out the long-winded version here just to make myself feel good... In the last two weeks I have created a pattern, unpicked an old pair of overalls enough to cut my new pattern out, overlocked all edges, applied reflector tape, stitched back, side, shoulder and sleeve seams, hand-embroidered a name badge, salvaged a zip and a lot more reflector tape from an old pair of overalls, worked out how to do a fly front zip and executed it in Jimmy's overalls, designed and created a collar (should've trimmed the seam allowances closer but too late now), completed a crotch seam, stitched the cuffs including elasticated cuffs at the ankles, and hand sewn a couple of badges in place. Ta da!! One pair of overalls

So I survived the children's musical with most of my remaining brain cells in-tact. At least I think they're mostly intact. That is all I've had the energy to do the past few weeks, besides work and normal, every day stuff.

I didn't update the week before last because I didn't... do anything. xD
But last week, I did! Albeit only on one task, but hey, I'm proud of it.
I decided to Summer Sweep my room up some more. First thing a few days ago, I had some scarves and gloves that I've been meaning to wash (I didn't even want to stick my hand in those gloves anymore) but persistently going "ehh, I'll do it later" because I don't actually need them in the summer, making it... dirty clutter that was kind of an eyesore. xD I didn't want to do it mainly because I need to wash them by hand and I hate washing things by hand. But I got tired of them being there, so I grabbed them, took them to the sink, and washed them. Now they're nice and clean, and the scarves are hanging up, and the gloves are... still hang-drying. xD (Hey, they're heavy-duty/hard to dry.) I think one pair is actually close to being dry if not dry already. The other I may take to the boot dryer for a few minutes just so it's done.
Yesterday, I was still annoyed at how much stuff I had, and for the sake of moving, I did a tally of how many boxes and bags I actually have, and then asked myself how much I could actually fit in my car when it's time to move. The answers are, respectively: too many and not enough.
So yesterday, I did a consolidation/throw out run. Tried to find some of the stuff scattered around and not in boxes and tried to put them in boxes where they fit. Reorganized one of the bags so that the space issue there is more efficient. And then I went through some of the boxes of my old schoolwork and went "okay, how much do I actually want to keep and how much should I just let go?". I still want to keep my old school stuff for reference, but there were a lot of redundant papers, like ones where I had to re-do the work or the easy homework assignments that I either already know or can look up in a book. I only went through a few classes, still not enough, but I have more empty folders now. I can re-use them for more classes.
I kind of want to keep doing that because most of the amount of stuff that I have is old schoolwork and books. Problem is, I've already gone through my run of "books I actually want to keep vs books to sell or give away," and I still have too many books from old classes. (...Actually, maybe that's not true. I should try to sell that one book because I bought it to get an idea for a field I was considering that I'm not actually going to be doing, and it's too advanced for me to get anything out of. It's a pretty sizable book too... Maybe I need to re-evaluate the books I have.) But yeah, that's the majority of what I have in my boxes. I've been avoiding it because there's a lot to go through, but at some point, you have to stop picking up the little stuff and dive into the root of the problem in order to really fix anything.
(EDIT regarding the book I intended to sell: Well, turns out a new edition of the book was released since I bought it, so only two places will buy this huge, very informative book for that field, and they'll pay... 50 cents. May as well donate it to a library or something at that point if they'll take it. >> Or keep it around my parents' house if people find it useful enough.)
...I did pick up one thing from the floor, resulting in more floorspace. I keep staring at it in awe.
...That was all I did this week, and I'll probably keep doing that this week. Onward to progress!
(Someone tell me to read that book I borrowed. I need to return it in a month and I'm mega procrastinating even though the content is actually interesting to me. ;_; )

What is this? Thorn remembered to make an update? Sorcery! =O
...anyway, I have started two more stories, and made a little more progress on my Sun story. The Sea is Dark is just waiting to be submitted now, and the microfic competition I was waiting for has a new prompt.
Oh wait and I forgot something, which I will go back and add now: I'm working on an article thing, but I'm not fully committed so we'll see how that goes. I'm away this weekend anyway so unless I can cram my laptop into my travel bag, probably won't be doing very much writing (I will bring my notepad, but it's slower and my handwriting sucks.)

So, another week passed. I didn't do nearly as much as I thought I would, but I did more munging of my room. Mostly just reconsolidated stuff and tried to find more places for things laying around.
...I also made negative process and bought a few things I'll need when I move. Generally things I couldn't easily get at a store anyway; mainly bedding stuff. Still need to get more of that.
...Actually, I think I'll just make Moving a task. It's pretty much what I'm focusing on when I do the first task, and there are miscellaneous things that aren't covered by the first task that are covered by a Moving task, but when I do Moving, I have Summer Cleaning in mind in spirit.
Which means I can talk about other things I did! I didn't actually need to, but I already booked my hotel. xD I'm just excited to go, and I already had everything else planned out anyway. Also got my mail system ready, so now as per my mom's suggestion, I can send stuff up if I can't fit it in my car. Probably not super far ahead of time, and I want to take things in my car if I can, but it's an option I can consider. Especially since my car can't actually hold very much and I don't have many other ways to get my stuff up without getting people to come with me, which I don't really want to do because I kind of just want to handle everything at my own pace and bringing people along will just complicate things. I don't need absolutely everything right away to live comfortably up there. But figuring out how to get everything up there is a problem. I even munged out the stuff I don't need, but one of the biggest things I need to somehow fit in my car, I actually do need. Why does living require so much stuff?
And of course, on the day I finally do move in, there'll be so much stuff to do then to do all at once when meanwhile I'm doing all this over the course of weeks. But it'll be good. I'll have one heavy-working day, and then after that I'll be settled in. I just wanna be ready before it's time to drive out so that I have to do as little as possible beforehand.
Meant to do reading, but I just couldn't get my brain in gear this week. Towards the end of the week, my ability to actually get to things... plummeted. I think I'm doing a bit better now, though, so maybe I can redeem myself this week. I'm supposed to find more things to mung out today, and I'll do it, but I think I've got most of it already. It's mostly reconsolidation at this point.

Progress on my art doll is coming along. I've finished the wireframe, sculpted the clay parts and attached them to said wireframe.
Now I'm in for a bit of a pause in progress - I have to find some cheapo faux fur to make the body. I'm thinking the easiest route is to buy a furry stuffed animal dog toy and use that as a base. Pet toys are cheap, sturdy (machine sewn) and I won't have to fuss with my own pattern. The challenge is to find something that'll fit the size of my wireframe. XD I can always Frankenstein a few together if needed.
Once I come up with some material for the body I can go on and paint the clay pieces the correct colours. When it's painted, then I can slap the soft body on and it'll be done!

So this week I went to an amazing SFF conference in Sweden. While that constituted a fair part of my week, it also gave me lots of inspiration for my various writing projects.
I started drafting some ideas for that microfic prompt, solidified my article pitch (though I'm hesitant to actually send it, it's quite different from what they normally do...); and...actually made actual solid progress on my novel! I've set myself a modest 1000 word daily target (which I will definitely not meet when I'm on holiday in Scotland, but oh well!) It's coming along well so far, but feels like something's missing. Then again, as I tell myself, it's only the first draft. Once I have that down, I can look at it as a whole and decide what needs changing.

lol still been the worst at these updates 8D
Writing's been going fine - added another 2kish to Markus Fic (still in the same part, but there's a scene I'm probably cutting because of that), and __ to my novel [I'll fill this in later, gonna make this post anyway to force myself to actually add it >O]. I kind of fell of the wagon with my daily wordcount at the end of July - kinda fell off the wagon with everything, but I was helping with a move-in, so XD
...I really do need to find some way to fit more art in, though. I mean, I've been working on an art project, but...not any of the ones on my list, which...explains why they're all still on the list, really.
