Hi, I don't know if any of you remember me, but I have continued to lurk after all these years until tonight, when I went to log onto neopets, my account was frozen. Don't know why. I'm super bummed, and not likely to spend a ton of time trying to get it back if an email to support@neopets doesn't get a reply. Anyway, you guys were the only players I ever really chatted with, and thought I'd see if you had any suggestions. I know I'm too old for this nonsense, but I had a lot of time invested in the site and the NT at one time, and it's hard to let it go. Peace all, - ICKessler

Peace all, - ICKessler Try logging in to see the reason why you were frozen. If your password doesn't work, someone probably got in and changed it, which means your account was likely frozen for protection. If you can log in, and the reason for freezing seems strange, note that down. Like if you don't chat much but you were frozen for bad language, or if you don't play Flash games but were frozen for cheating. Rather than emailing them, it would be quicker to send in a ticket (you'll need another account which you can just deactivate or use as a side if you get your main account back). Also, I'd recommend posting your ticket number on the Ticket Waiting board on the Help Chat since staff members do lurk there and give priority to people posting there. They don't answer emails as often as they do tickets. Unfortunately, due to how many people are getting compromised and frozen these days, there's really no quick and easy way to get your account back. Not trying to put you off it, just letting you know that if you want your account back, you're going to need to work with the staffer who gets assigned your ticket (basically answering any questions and providing as much info as you can remember)

Thanks for the reply. The password works, the message is only "suspicious activity" but I logged onto a very old side account and submitted a ticket. I think I will put in some effort to get it back. Thank you again. It's so weird that it would be frozen, I literally do nothing but buy and sell stocks on the NEODAQ and have been selling off the contents of my SDB (there are tens of thousands of items in there).

It's possible they thought you were compromised since you were selling off a lot of items at once. I would explain that to your support staff member and see if they can shed any light on the issue. I hope it gets resolved soon! ^_^

I got a replay from "Alice W." and was able to supply (almost) all my neocash transactions, so keeping fingers crossed...

Iced, iced, baby.
My side.
Suspicious activity and frozen for my protection.
It's been a while since I logged in last. *sent ticket*

I just came back after a long hiatus to find that two of my sides were frozen for suspicous activity. Alice W. has been handling my ticket as well and she's been much faster at taking care of it than I ever thought support staff would be. I have one of my sides back and I'm still trying to remember what e-mail address I originally used to make the other one.
ETA: Both accounts have been restored and all of my pets are safe. Huzzah!

I attempted logging into my old main after not having played for... I'm not even sure how long, at least a couple of years I'd guess? Anyway, it's been a while and it has been frozen. I can't log-in at all, so I'm guessing suspicious activity. All of my sides are fine, however I can't get the ticket system to work on any browser so I'm not sure what to do. I'm going to try emailing support@neopets.com directly and cross my fingers, I'd hate to lose everything I had on there :/

Although you should look into trying the ticket page again at some point. I just tried to access it and I was unable to, even though I normally have no issues. Perhaps this is an issue on their end or parature's (the ticket system) end. It's not totally unheard of. Regardless, best of luck getting your account back!

While patiently waiting to hear back, I decided to find out ways I can check on the contents of my account from the outside. I discovered that you can view the galleries of frozen accounts, and mine now only contains a single item (the only one that had a quantity of more than 1 iirc). It was formally my pride and joy - a near-complete collection (at the time I stopped playing) of Skeith-themed items that once won the Gallery Spotlight in 2011 (week 454) and worth millions of NP. So I'm guessing at some point in my absence, the account was definitely hacked and that's why it's ended up frozen All of my pets are showing as belonging to a frozen account, so I think they're ok at least... I've also since found that one of my former sides is also inaccessible with my saved password and the userlookup has been cleared. It seems like this is going to be an uphill battle if I want to get everything back to how it was. (Also, unrelated to this topic but I just wanted to mention that your avatar is so nostalgic to me - my very first published NT piece was an 'interview' with Cog that used her shop image as the thumbnail)

I hope all of your pets are okay. Like I said in the OP, TNT does want to return accounts to their original owners, but yeah it'll be a hassle to go through since they want to make absolutely sure you are the original owner. I wish you a speedy answer to your email! Aww that's awesome! I'll check it out sometime! I just really love Moltara & Cog has a super cute design~

The Good: Support has unfrozen my account, and all of my pets seem to be ok from the outside! The Not-so-Good: As a child, I signed up using a fake birthday and I don't remember it. So now I need to wait for (hopefully) just one more response in order to get back in.
Support has been really good in trying to help me with this so far - I saw people on the Neopets facebook page and on other parts of the web saying they'd been waiting for ticket responses for months to years so I was worried it was going to be ages! All of my email responses have been roughly 2 days apart.
EDIT: Ugh, of all things one of my pets' petpets has been zapped. That seems like a weird thing for a hacker to do.
EDIT 2: Got my birthday and got into my account! I've been through most everything, and other than my random petpet zap I'm also missing a bunch of items from my gallery (but not all of them, quite a few had just been moved to my SDB for some reason), all of my NP (I had something like 20+ mil, ugh) and some other random things had been changed (a bunch of preferences, and my PIN had been removed). Overall, it could have been a lot worse.

My main is frozen now because of inappropriate language. Why does this keep happening? I have strong passwords. Now that the ticket system is via e-mail I'm afraid I'll never get my account back. ETA2: Alice W. e-mailed me back but she said they won't restore my account because there were horrible inappropriate things said on the Neoboards. But I didn't say them! This is so terrible. I don't understand why my accounts keep getting hacked.

Oh, nuts. I tried to view my main account with my side and it's apparently frozen. Looks like sending an email to support might've been the right course of action after all.
Maybe it really wasn't a case of me simply forgetting my email address, but I can only hope I remember the right one.
