"You made it. Thanks, mate” Zenith said when they saw him come in. “you'd think I'd know to say smarter things after so long on the show, and it's already all over the web because I couldn't think any better or faster, and-" Zen. Tim thought, letting a chuckle curl up his lips. You don’t know how good you are at this superhero thing.
"- and I really shouldn't have called you this morning, I'm sorry. I'm just glad you could make it tonight." “No, no!” Tim protested. “I am – I was...I was relieved that you called. Honestly. My morning started out...“ Bloody.“...badly. So thanks for rescuing me from that.” And indeed Zen had rescued him, he recalled. They could fly and fight and shoot energy beams from their hands – but the power Tim admired most in their friend was their ability to bring him back to his senses. "It's good to see you here again.” They said, their voice taking a softer turn. “You've come so far since you first joined the show, you know that? I'm sure it can only get better if you keep going." “It means a lot to hear you say that. Being here-“ he opened his arms to the make-up room, “-gives me purpose. And yeah, that purpose is sometimes...unnerving. But if it weren’t for this, I have no idea where I’d be right now.” He gave out a long and profound sigh. “Probably still in a coma.” He admitted. The thought of his accident brought along the memories of the dizzying nightmare he woke up from this morning. “Listen – there’s something that I need to talk to you about. I mean, I don’t want to worry you....darn it, too late for that but...something is wro-” He halted his confession as soon as he heard a delicate knock on the door. "Do come in, Miss Kingsley," Zenith called, sitting back on their chair. Timothy tried following their lead and pulled a seat for himself, turning his eyes away from the door as he heard Tabitha walk in. He needed a moment to catch his breath and let his heartbeat slow down. "Dears, is everything alright here?" she said with her melodic voice "Is it about what happened today with Nyx? As far as I heard, you both did an absolutely superb job.” Tabitha’s presence brought Timothy a strange comfort. She had that motherly nature to her that came without effort, and it was hard not to listen when she spoke. My mother could’ve used some lessons from Tabitha."Yes, maybe Nyx got away but that only means you can fight her another day, perhaps even during the show.” Tabitha continued. “You saved the hostages and you did it without hurting yourself badly...at least not as far as I can see. Do correct me if I am wrong." "Thank you, Miss Kingsley, I am unhurt. I only wish that these people had not been in danger at all. Nyx only wanted to get back at me. I shouldn't let anyone else get caught in her schemes." Zenith replied. After their answer, the room seemed to have turned to Timothy for an answer of his own. “I’m...” He looked at them both. What could he say? I’m bleeding my brains out and I don’t know why. I think my girlfriend is avoiding me. I'm losing track of time. Again. “It’s just been...a challenging day.” He said dryly. His friends were about to get on stage, why would he want to ruin their moment? It was their big night. Tabitha approached the two and laid her hands on each of their shoulders. "But now, my dears, we have a show to get to. Even if things are difficult, we owe the crowds a performance. Even if you can barely muster the energy to move, sometimes you have to convince yourself to do it.” She assured them with her wise words, “And when you convince yourself, you'll be able to convince others. You're strong enough, both of you, and sometimes, it is all part of being in the performing arts.” Tim left her soft and reassuring words make their way to his heavy heart. He felt the weight on his consciousness be slightly lifted. “Right now though, come on. Mr. Weisle is probably about to announce us all and you are the stars.” Tabitha said, “You cannot tarry. After all, what will your darling fans think?" She’s right. People are relying on us, he mused. People are expecting us. Life is expecting us, and the show must go on. I must go on or else I’ll just go back to...to April 26th. 3:45 PM. "You can both come have a nice chat with me about whatever is bothering you after the show, you know,” She reassured them and patted their shoulders. “For now though, come on. No need to be nervous. Take it from me, the stage is the perfect medium to put whatever problems you have out of your mind, at least for a bit. And who knows, perhaps when you go out, all those worries will seem very insignificant indeed." "Of course, Miss Kingsley. You are a true performer." Zenith nodded, “Ah, Karo's on, aren't they. Oh, was I supposed to go soon after them?" Zenith quickly sprouted from their chair and grabbed their jacket. Tim sometimes envied their energy. And their height, of course. “I don't even... is there... is there even an order... well I do have to go out there at some point..." As Zenith made their way to the door, they whispered something to Tabitha and then said: "See you out there, Timmy. Try not to upstage me too much." “I accept your challenge.” He said, covering his sorrow with a sharp grin. "Good luck out there, Zenith, darling. Go out there and don't worry about Nyx, just shine like the sun!" Tabitha cheered, "We shall talk a touch later, I hope!" They watched Zen make their way out of the room and now – without anywhere to hide – Timothy let his eyes fall to the ground. He felt Tabitha approach him. "You too, young Master Hikes.” She started, picking out dust from his shoulders. “You'll be due on stage any minute now and we cannot keep our fans waiting...And my offer stands for you too: if there is anything you want, anything at all, come to me, darling. I will do all in my power to aid you.” He finally looked up and met her sympathetic smile. "Not all things in life can be solved with superpowers." Tabitha remarked. “Oh, Miss Kinglsey...” he smiled back. “I honestly think they cause more trouble than the other way around, but I am grateful for what you said...I won’t forget I have a friend in you. Thank you, sincerely.” She gave out a gentle laughter and said, "You're going to be just fine. This will be a good season." "I should run now, however.” She gave him one last pat on the back and rushed to the door, “I am afraid my presence shall be required on stage soon and I need to get ready." “Good luck.” He sighed and sank on his seat, throwing his head backwards. He tried to focus on Tabitha’s reassuring words – it was supposed to be a good night. An exciting night. It was a celebration, a sign that life goes on despite whatever awful thoughts might be pestering one’s mind. Swallowing his anxiety, Tim jumped to his feet and tucked his helmet over his head. “You know how to do this.” He reassured himself, tightening the straps around his jaw. “Remember college? Of course you do. Just be college Tim. Care-free, dim-witted college Tim. ” When he stepped out of the make-up room, Tim looked around the hallway. He realized then he couldn’t remember which way the stage was - to his dumb luck, Timothy spotted a maintenance man enjoying a candy bar by the end of the hallway. “Excuse me, sir!” He rushed towards him “Can you tell me please which way is the stage, I ha-“ He paused when the man turned to face him. “You...what are...What are you doing here?” Tim mumbled. ----- It was hard standing out with heroes like that on stage. Glitch couldn’t really fly. He wasn’t super-strong. His powers were hard for the human eye to catch glimpse of. He didn’t even have much of a flashy outfit either – some rumours around the internet even dared say he wasn’t actually a human, but just a faceless robot. Maybe I should’ve worn a mask that showed some of my face. Just to express emotion. So people could relate. But never mind that, he didn’t join the Hero Games for popularity. Still, he did not like disappointing, so walking on stage required some last minute improvisation. From the backstage, he could hear Weisle Wulfric’s announcements. Tim found himself warming up just like a football player before a match, jumping up and down in pointless anticipation. “And give another round of applause for Heraclia’s most beloved dame, Lady Tabitha Kingsley!” the host screamed, the crowd igniting into cheers. “Now,” Wulfric paused, taking a moment to check his lines typed out in paper cards. “on to our next competitor! I want you all to give a warm welcome back to-“ The screens on the stage froze. The lights stopped blinking. The music ceased. “What is...what is going on?!” Wulfric babbled. The crowd quieted down and turned their attention to Wulfric, the only still functioning thing on stage. “Erm...ha-hah!” Wulfric said awkwardly. “There appears to be a...a bit of an error on our...hm. Display system.” He looked around the stage for a sign of the maintenance crew, but what he found instead was Glitch giving him some thumbs up from the backstage. Weisle Wulfric then gave out a small chuckle of relief and turned back to the public. He’s got it, Tim thought, he knows what to do.“It’s indeed an error.” Wulfric continued, “But fear not, citizens of Heraclia – it is merely a Glitch, and how glad we are to have him here!” As soon as he stepped into the public’s view, Glitch spread his arms wide open and let the lights flash to his will. He sped them up, slowed them down and made them dance to his will. The same happened to the sound system. To Tim’s relief, the crowd exploded in cheers. “It appears someone is giving a shot at remixing now, aren’t they?” Wulfric remarked, letting the public have their laugh. “New hobby, Mr. Glitch?” “Too much free time, I guess.” He shrugged humbly. More laughter. Wulfric gave a brief moment for the public to calm down and said: “Word on the streets has it you and Zenith are already up to trouble around Heraclia’s train tracks. You confirm that?” Tim chuckled and glared at Zenith. They were standing in line with all the other heroes, right next to Tabitha. “I fear we’re always up to trouble. It’s our thing, really.” “And how we love it!” Wulfric shouted to the spectators, “Ladies and Gentleman, we have here our most punctual participant tonight – Glitch!” They clapped, and so he clapped as well and made his way in line next to Tabitha. He was surprised to find a charming little girl hiding behind Ms. Kingsley’s umbrella. “And what do we have here?” He chanted cheerily to Mizshu and Tabitha, “looks like you’ve found yourself an excellent hiding spot.” He bent his knees and reached out his hands for a greeting. “Don’t worry.” He assured her, “Nights like these make me want to hide, too.” After a short conversation with Celestial and Liou in the make-up room, Timothy finally makes his way to the stage. On his way he encounters a mysterious candy-bar loving maintenance man ( Gelquie). On stage, he grows sympathies for little Miszhu ( Mostly Harmless (flufflepuff)) and tries to comfort her.

DUDE BRO™ could barely make out the people on the stage anymore, as he was carried further and further away by the crowd - not that he minded, of course. But he could just about see a line of heroes standing towards the back of the stage, and that meant that a fair few of them had been introduced behind him. “Okay everyone, let’s get me back to the stage now! You know i’m open for a little groping any time, but I gotta at least high-five my competition!” He pointed dramatically towards the spotlights now in the distance and heard somebody shout, “DUDE BRO™ needs more spotlight, move him back!” It took a surprisingly short time for DUDE BRO™ to reach the stage again, once word had spread that it was far more beneficial to get him screen-time than to feel up his posterior. Upon climbing back onto the stage once more, DUDE BRO™ gave a quick wave to his beloved fans and adjusted his uniform. Due to his little trip, he was looking a little disheveled after being prodded by so many members of the audience; his hair was no longer the image of perfection, but instead slightly ruffled and his golden speedos had even been pulled off by one particularly lucky fan. That was no matter though, as he always wore multiple pairs in case of such an occurrence. DUDE BRO™ gave a quick thumbs up to Weisle, and ruffled the hosts own hair as he made his way to his fellow heroes, stopping at the end of the line just in time to hear, “Don’t worry, nights like these make me want to hide too.” The superhero scoffed at this comment. “Nah bro, this is the night of a lifetime. You hear those cheers? They’re all for me! But if you listen real carefully, you might even make out somebody calling your name too. Soak it aaaaaaall up!” DUDE BRO™ glanced at the speaker for the first time and gave a little grunt of surprise. “Yo, malfunction dude!” he exclaimed and gave the slight boy a friendly thump on the back. “I totally forgot that you were gonna be here! Does this mean that you’ll agree to the idea I pitched to ol’ Billy boy?” DUDE BRO™ jumped up and down with excitement. “To be honest, when I told Mister Billy-Goat that a one hour special featuring the daring adventures of DUDE BRO™ and his trusty Malfunction Dude was a totally killer idea, he didn’t really respond. But he must have loved it if you’re here now!” He flexed his biceps approvingly. “So, which villain do you wanna beat to a pulp?” Glancing back out at the crowd, DUDE BRO™ jerked a hand towards them. “One of the fans out there told me that Screaming Scimitar was posting some crazy angsty blog posts about my Eyescream Bro leaving the hero business, so what do you say we give him something to really complain about!” For the first time since he’d begun talking to Malfunction Bro, DUDE BRO™ noticed just what it was that they’d been doing before he’d arrived. Some girl who he’d briefly seen backstage was hiding behind that high-class hero who always scared him. DUDE BRO™ crouched down next to Malfunction Bro took a good look at the girl. Was she even a hero? He had his doubts whether she was cut out for this gig. But nonetheless, the cameras were watching, and nothing could quite beat the stoic manly type being nice to kids. “Yo, you know all those fangirls and guys are here just for us, right?” He nodded factually. “Ain’t no use hiding from the cameras, you wouldn’t be here right now if they didn’t think that you deserved it, so stand proud and give them something to cheer about.” DUDE BRO™ turned his head briefly and gave a trademark wink in the direction of the cameras. In truth, all he could really think about was how unfair it was that she was allowed so close to a woman’s dress, but for him that was totally unacceptable. He cursed the double standard in his head, before glancing up at that high-class woman. “Err… good-day ma’am,” he whispered, crouching down a little further to shrink away from her gaze. “N-N-Nice weather we’re having, right?” On second thought, maybe the kid had the right idea - now he wanted to hide too. I was totally having the time of my life out there like, HANDSEVERYWHERE! But the show was still going, so I made my way back to the stage like, MARCHINGORDERS!Then I totally ended up finding Dju , and we planned a killer teamup like, DOUBRO! He was chatting to Mostly Harmless (flufflepuff) , who seemed way out of her comfort zone like, WHIMPER! So I said some of the nicest freakin' words ever like, FATHERLY! But then I realized that she was hiding behind Celestial , and she totally scares me. BROCAUTIOUS!

As Fireflyman landed on the stage to take his place between Tabitha Kingsley and Zenith, he heard a cute little voice squeak: "You were so sparkly and pretty!" The speaker was a child who stood next to Kizuna, and just after she'd blurted it out, before Fireflyman could say a single word, she muttered and hid herself in Tabitha's extravagant attire. He smiled at the child and waved. He had paid some attention to her grand entrance, and she didn't quite look naturally meek so much as afraid. She had some sort of agent whose name he didn't quite know, and seeing as how she was merely a child, it wasn't hard to imagine him putting too much pressure, if not taking advantage of his leverage over her as her guardian. That assumption might have been unfair, but Fireflyman knew all too well what it was like being under the heel of someone who had only shown "kindness" and "generosity" to him when he had little to turn to. "Hey, Mizshu," he said quietly. "I'm glad you liked it; your compliment means a lot to me." The girl was in good hands--err, umbrella?--with Tabitha Kingsley, and he trusted that the overdressed lady would be nothing but kind to her. Fireflyman looked to his left and gave Tabitha a knowing nod, then past her to take a look at "Glitch," who seemed to be a bit absorbed in his own little world. Not unusual--Fireflyman usually didn't envy Timothy Hikes, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was especially off about him today. "Nights like these make me want to hide too," he'd said to Mizshu. To his right was the hero that had the most wondrous act, in his honest opinion--and his opinion was not at all influenced by the the fact that Zenith could both fly and glow, not at all by the fact that they had incredible wit and a good heart, and not at all by the fact that they were possibly the strongest and most charming person he'd ever met. Fireflyman rubbed the back of his neck and used it as an excuse to turn away. So maybe he did have just a small crush--usually not an issue, but it was an issue when his costume didn't quite block out his bio-luminescence. And if he blushed, his body would follow up with a much more obvious (and embarrassing) display of light. Get over yourself. Just focus on the audience and calm down. They have more important things to do than notice your awkwardness.Fireflyman replies to Mizshu ( Mostly Harmless (flufflepuff)), saying that he appreciates her compliment and speculates wildly over her agent and raison d'etre. He sizes up Tabitha ( Celestial) and and Glitch ( Dju) and tries not to embarrass himself over his crush on Zentih ( Liou).

Wheatley loved nighttime. At night, the Humans came home. He got to eat Dinner. The Humans would watch the Magic Picture Box, and if he was a Good Boy and didn't gnaw on the tassels of their throw blanket they would let him sit on the couch beside them (not the Good Couch, but still, a couch was a couch!), and stroke his ears, and rub his belly. Sometimes they would eat Snacks, like Popcorn or Chips or Ice Cream, and if he put on his very bestest Sad Dog Face, they would let him have a lick or a nibble. Then they would laugh at how hard his tail was thumping. Oh, he loved to hear their laughs! Finally-- eventually-- as their Magic Picture Box droned on and on, the colourful pictures dancing about the screen, Wheatley would begin to doze off snuggled against the Humans' warm bodies. Content as a lamb. Snoring like a tractor. (Sometimes, when he was groggy, he'd hear the humans laughing about his Snores; he was very glad he could entertain them, even in his slumber.) Wheatley didn't understand how Gatsby could ever lament these people. They were such Good Humans. And he was their Good Boy. Wheatley snoozes on the couch with his humans as they presumably watch the premiere on the TV. He ponders how "Gatsby" ( Tiger) could ever dislike the humans.

Zenith's heart was still pounding from the rush of their flight. They were already thinking of the video they would review later. Had they accidentally folded their leg in that weird angle while spinning? Had they spent enough time above their own fan club? Had their mouth been awkwardly open in concentration while they swooped down for high-fives? They tapped their foot anxiously while trying to remember. The wait on stage was so much worse than the actual performance. They sighed in relief when Miss Kingsley's entrance was announced, only too glad to focus on something more pleasant. She (unlike them) had every detail under control, and a voice to match her visual performance - oh, and that rose thrown in the audience was such a delightful touch. Zenith kept watching when Tabitha came to join the other heroes. She was coming so close that they could see her very well now, all smiling and fresh-faced and just a little flushed. She even seemed to be coming towards their part of the line - she was right next to them - right there - this was no time to freeze up. Was she talking? She was talking to them. It couldn't be to anyone else, because she had mentioned their name, and Miss Kingsley never forgot people's names, so she was definitely complimenting Zenith on their show - she had been watching their show and seen every detail of it with her keen eyes and her performer's expertise. Now it was time for Zenith to reply, because manners involved responding to compliments, and manners were of the utmost importance to Miss Kingsley. Zenith took a deep breath, leaned a little closer to Tabitha, opened their mouth and said, "Wshcksmtrknd-" They immediately lowered their head, cheeks furiously warm under their goggles. "I meant - my pololo - apologies - just - you're too kind - I mean thankyouverymuch." Breathing fast, they kept talking with the tone of an eager fan determined to prove that their appreciation was more serious than the rest. "Especially as - as your own show was so perfect as usual, and I really want to say - I've been meaning to for a while - I do admire what you do a lot, I mean, how every single little gesture just blends into your performance that charms everyone and you make it seem so effortless..." A bright-winged figure descended back to the stage, a small girl gave a squeak and darted behind Tabitha, and Zenith suddenly fell silent. The lights and sound glitching out distracted them from sinking any lower in their worship of Tabitha. It was Timmy's turn. Zenith hopped up and down on their tiptoes, even though their height allowed them to see above most people's heads anyway. They didn't want to miss an instant of their boy's performance, darnit. Their chest swelled proudly when he made the crowd cheer for him - just as planned. Then the host had to mention the unfortunate train tracks episode. Zenith folded their knees slightly to shrink lower, giving Tim an apologetic grin. They got ready to gush all over Tim when he came to stand with them. Weisle hadn't given him quite as much attention as he deserved, Zenith noticed, and that was not fair to Timmy. Should they grab Weisle's mic and add a few words? No, that would just be ridiculous for them both. Swallowing back paragraphs of proud praise, Zenith merely gave him a playful clap on the shoulder when he arrived. Timmy immediately started to be nice to the little girl - Timmy was so great. They'd have to remember to tell him later. They would have to sit him down with a drink and make him stop moving for long enough to tell him all the nice things. They glanced sideways at Tabitha, tried to resist, and failed. "I forgot to mention, Miss Kingsley," they added breathlessly, "that my performance was in good part thanks to you - you did help me improve my posture and stage presence tremendously back when I joined, after all." Just as some people seemed to exert a force of attraction on Zenith, others did exactly the opposite. A certain someone, for instance, who barged in between Timmy and Mizshu, emitted such a powerful aura of utter repulsiveness that Zenith found their body moving very naturally in the opposite direction, towards Tabitha's other side. Their mind filtered out all awareness of the certain someone. It was just a blind spot in their vision. Tabitha clearly did not approve of him, so, so, there. While averting their gaze, they noticed that Fireflyman had joined the lineup. "Oh, hey," they said, suddenly much cooler than they had been with Tabitha. "Good show, man." They gave him a casual thumbs-up. Well, they had been quite distracted by the adrenalin rush from their own flight during Fireflyman's performance; but the all-natural light show had been quite memorable. Unfortunately, the rude blond blind spot was quite loud. And quite visible, too. "Timmy," Zenith mouthed frantically at their friend. "Timmy will you just freeze him for us? Nobody will notice the difference." No matter how much they tried to avoid thinking of the loud bespeedo'd creature, a surreptitious little thought still crept into Zenith's head: " I'm pretty sure that I'm shapelier than him in that area, anyway." Zenith is standing awkwardly on stage and reacting to a lot of people because so many of you are around, seriously! They're mainly busy idolising Celestial , trying to keep up a conversation with her while watching Dju all proudly, noticing Moni , definitely not noticing Jayeee ew ew no, and encouraging Tim to freeze him because no one would have any objections now, would they. Also this post ends on a classy note because I feed on my character's shame, yay.

The tech hero (“ Tabitha Kingsley,” Natasha noted under her breath) took her leave to the back line of fellow heroes, opening the stage yet again for the next player. “Now onto our next competitor! I want you all to give a warm welcome back to-” The stage screens and lights began to malfunction, freezing on one frame and ceasing to blink as though suddenly suspended in time. Natasha lifted an eyebrow as the host visibly broke into a sweat. “There appears to be a...a bit of an error on our...hm. Display system.” Not a second later, though, some signal backstage gave him the alright to continue, and with newfound confidence he announced, “It’s indeed an error. But fear not, citizens of Heraclia – it is merely a Glitch, and how glad we are to have him here!” “There he is!” Natasha said aloud, smiling at the screen as Glitch-- Tim-- came onstage in full costume, arms wide open to welcome the crowd. “Glad to see you’re well enough to join us.” Glitch further tampered with the lights for a grand encore, and he and Wulfric began an exchange in banter. While watching him, though, Natasha’s amused smile slowly vanished, replaced instead with a contemplative look. Her brow furrowed, and she put a hand to her mouth as she entered deep thought. Everything should be in place, last night went as planned… But I haven’t seen him since then, so maybe I should…She quickly glanced up at the screen. Would it be worth going…
--- The next time Natasha looked in the mirror-- hardly a minute later-- it didn’t cause her nearly as much pain. Not a moment’s thought went into looking back at those eyes because, unlike before, they were now a deep brown, set in a pale, narrow face framed by thick black hair that fell past the shoulders. Natasha Greiss no longer stood before the mirror; instead, there was Natasha, the sweet, timid girl adjusting to city life outside of her hometown in Korea. She was the same Natasha who had caught Tim’s eye, and the one who was about to give him a surprise visit at his big event. The hotel didn’t give a second glance at the young girl headed for its exits, and the nearest public transport took her down to where Hero City held its premiere. Once there, Natasha started to look around. A little investigating brought her to the backstage door, at which a security guard stood like a sentry, high on alert. Unfazed, Natasha approached him, one second empty handed, the next gripping a card with just the right information to get her inside. “Good evening,” she greeted softly, looking up with shy eyes and timidly extending her card to be seen. Despite the dimness of the evening, her access card still shimmered bright enough for the security guard to quickly check it and give her the okay. Backstage behind the action of the show, everything stood still in hushed whispers and soft darkness. A few stagehands swiftly moved about, checking for heroes and equipment alike, but any other human presence was sparse. Natasha pulled out her phone and quickly typed:
After seeing Tim ( Dju ) on TV, Natasha gets the idea to pay him a visit at the show's premiere. Quickly disguising herself and heading to the arena, Natasha grants herself backstage access and sends Tim a text to announce her presence.

Zenith spoke up, gushing lovingly about her, a fact that despite herself, made Tabitha blush just a little. Though they were not much younger than her, she had taken Zenith under her wing when they had just joined, seeing how nervous they were, and now, they were doing a fantastic job. But they clearly still regarded her as their mentor. "Zenith, darling, you are far too kind," she put one gloved hand up to her cheek, stroking her skin with her fingers. "It is all years of practice. I have been performing non-stop since I was quite young and with that comes experience. You'll learn it too, don't you worry. Especially with me aro-" Tabitha broke off as one of the heroes- a young girl who had gone second and had clearly been on stage for a while- jumped behind her, placing Tabitha between her and the rest of the world. Tabitha blinked, surprised, having not expected such a reaction, especially since it came after a relatively innocent comment from the girl. "Do pardon me, Zenith," she said. Carefully, so as to not startle her, Tabitha placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, getting a better look at her in the process. Mizshu, that was her name, was it not? One of the newcomers. Poor thing must have been a bundle of nerves; no wonder she snapped. Once again, it was time for Tabitha to teach a newbie how to perform. Before she could open her mouth, however, as the lights and the music began to...well, glitch. Tabitha smiled. Good boy, Timothy, come out and do what the crowd requires of you. She watched Timothy as he was introduced, and though the performance was a little lacking lustre, it was just par for the course for him: with a little pizzaz but not too much. She flashed the young man a smile as he approached and addressed the youngster hiding with her. "Indeed. I wager there is not a single person alive who has never felt like running and hiding. Why, during my school play, when playing the lead for the first time, I hid in the changing rooms and cried from nerves. And now look where I am!" she exclaimed, gesturing to the stage. She folded her umbrella and hung it on her wrist before stepping around the girl and putting her hands around her shoulders, wrapping her in a gentle hug. "You'll be okay, dear, I promise. You'll get used to it...Mizshu, was it?" Her eyes flicked upwards as the most obnoxious presence infected the atmosphere around them. Him. Tabitha had always despised the All-Star whose name she refused to say for his crassness and egocentricity and overall disrespect. Thankfully, there was enough matter in his thick skull to know better than to bother her. She had made sure he had learned his lesson very, very clearly. “N-N-Nice weather we’re having, right?”"Quite," Tabitha replied curtly with an edge to her normally calm voice. She would never dare lose her temper or discard her manners, not even when faced with this oaf, but she made sure to let him know she did not disapprove. "Now would you be so kind as to lower your voice a fraction? I am trying to have a conversation." She smiled back down at the young girl. "Nobody is going to hurt you. See? Everyone is being very kind," the woman glanced around at both Timothy and the gentleman who was also a Firefly (Fireflyman, as he called himself.) "You seem to have caused no offence to Mr. Fireflyman, don't you worry." As Zenith spoke again, she turned back to them, closing her eyes briefly and nodding her head in acknowledgement. "I am glad that all the time I spent teaching you have paid off. You are magnificent now, able to stand all on your own- though you can still afford to work on your stage fright a little," Tabitha smiled. "But you are sweet, Zenith, and thank you for all your most kind compliments. You have my help as long as you need it, in conquering that stage fright and in anything else." She stroked young Mizshu's head, looking down at her. "Hear that, young one? That goes for you too. You're much like Zenith was when they started: sweet and shy. For now though, you have to be brave," she grinned down at the girl. "You can be brave, right? You're a hero." Tabitha is amused and flattered as Zenith( Liou ) speaks to her and compliments her. She is broken off as Mizshu( Mostly Harmless (flufflepuff) ) hugs her and focuses away from Zenith in order to comfort the young girl, with the help of Timothy( Dju ). She is very icily polite to DUDE BRO TM( Jayeee ) and hopes that he gets the hint before comforting Mizshu some more and pointing out to her that Fireflyman( Moni ) is okay with what she said. Tabitha then returns to her conversation with Zenith, assuring them and Mizshu that she can help them both. Step aside, Woob-Dad, Woob-Mum is here.

((Collabpost with Dju!)) “You...what are...What are you doing here?” Tim mumbled.Gordan Page was now facing the boy, hoping to and successfully catching his eye. Gordan merely gave him a smile. “I’m here just in case they need my help, but I also wanted to see the performance,” he explained. “...And then I got hungry; I was looking for a vending machine. ...Enough about me, though,” Gordan went on. “How are you feeling, Mr. Hikes? Have you gone on yet?” “I’m…” Tim hesitated. He did not expect to see Page here, but part of him was relieved. “Not in my best shape, I’m afraid.” “Ah, that’s too bad. And just in time for your stage show too. I hope it won’t affect your performance too much.” Gordan paused. “...If I may ask, what’s wrong?” “...Where to start?” Tim sighed and looked around. “They’re waiting for me on stage, but they can wait as long as we want.” As soon as he said so, the world slowed down around them. “You’ve known me before...before the accident at the lab.” Tim started, “And, and - darn it - you know how I was afterwards, don’t you?” “Ah… yes, I do remember,” Gordan said aloud. “Obviously, it’s not as bad now as it was then, but… is it happening again?” “Yes. Non-stop. Since this morning. Nose-bleeds all the time.” Tim grumbled, “and the worst part come now: I was asleep. I haven’t fell asleep since..since…” “...Since before the accident,” Gordan finished. “I wonder if your symptoms are resurging, or… maybe your powers are changing. But I could be wrong… Mr. Hikes, do you remember how you fell asleep? What was happening when you did?” “You beat me there.” Tim held his neck in discomfort. “I have no idea whatsoever. I was...was on a date night. With Natasha, remember? You introduced us. We were at the movies and it all goes blank. I haven’t even seen her all day, I am worried sick.” “...I see…” Gordan turned away for a brief moment, a hand to his chin, but he soon turned back to Tim. “Maybe your body is starting to try to get back to its former timeline. Or maybe you just felt comfortable enough in a comfortable place with someone you cared for, and it was enough to make your body relax. I don’t know. ...Let me know if it happens again; I’ll keep thinking about it. But for now, I’d wait to see if it passes. Maybe it’s like what happened when this started, and your body just needs time to get used to something, like changes in power. As for Natasha… I trust that she’s alright, or I would’ve heard about it. You haven’t seen her, but have you contacted each other today?” “Sort of. She’s busy, but everything seems to be normal.” Timothy assured him, “So you think it’s just nature taking its course? ...Sounds too good to be true. But also reasonable. We both know the universe hates glitches, I don’t expect it would allow one to exist.” “...Yes, I think nature taking its course is a good way to put it. It may be difficult on you, given how the universe isn’t used to something being… in-between times. But you’re still here and alive, just as before.” Gordan put a hand on Tim’s shoulder, looking him in the eye. “Give yourself time to adapt, Mr. Hikes, and then everything will be cleared up again. And if it’s not, come to me or Natasha again. We’re your friends, and we’ll always help you as best as we’re able. ...And true, Natasha is busy; she has something big coming up. But I’m sure she’ll find time for you; you know how she cares for you. Have faith in her; she’ll come to you soon.” “I hope so. I am worried I might’ve scared her away. You know how...weird it can get with me.” “Perhaps a little weird,” Gordan admitted. “But weird isn’t always bad. And she’s stuck with you, hasn’t she? I do think she’s just wrapped up in her work right now. But I’m sure she’ll be there for you. Just give her time.” He gave a wry smile. “Not everyone can pause time to think like you can, after all.” That made Tim chuckle, for his own surprise. “It’s good to have friends like you. I am grateful. I mean it.” “I’m glad,” Gordan said with a smile. “And we’re glad to have you as our friend too. And I’m also happy that we got the opportunity to meet again, after all these years.” “True. I miss those days at the lab, you know? I’ve learned so much from you.” the memory kept the smile on his lips. “We should talk more sometime - there’s a lot we need to catch up to. I shouldn’t keep you going fast any longer, it’s not good for you.” Timothy let time resume once more. “I have to do my...Glitch thing now. But I hope we meet again soon.” He assured him. “I do too,” Gordan said with a smile. He was about to raise a hand to wave goodbye, but he paused. “Actually, there is something else I was hoping to talk to you about… But it can wait another hour or so. Let’s meet again after the ceremony, at the cafe across the street.” He waved, beginning to turn the other direction, towards the audience pit. “For now, go." He pointed towards the direction of the stage. "Impress your audience. I’ll be watching.” Tim nodded and let down his black face lid, covering his features. “See you later then.” He waved and headed to the stage. Gordan, meanwhile, began to walk back to the audience. With his friend about to go on stage, it was time to re-join the crowd. He’d had a long enough break anyway, and he couldn’t avoid the crowds forever. Besides, it would be worthwhile to see Glitch on-stage with the rest of the heroes. Tim and Gordan run into each other; it turns out that they know each other and are friends. They talk about Tim’s problems. Gordan gives him perspective and advice telling him to give himself some time… Or time in Tim’s perspective. Tim is grateful for the advice, and he departs to go on-stage. Meanwhile, Gordan goes back to the audience to watch the rest of the show.

After everyone had made their appearance on stage, a break seemed to happen for the heroes. Was it happening? Zenith was not sure - no one had really told them whether to take a break, or why, or how long, or what would happen in between, or afterwards, unless they had been told and simply forgotten? The fact was that some of the heroes had begun to move around, and to interact with various people in a way that seemed utterly disorganised, and yet they all seemed to know where they were going at all times. Zenith would much rather have battled a giant rampaging robot than mingled. With a giant rampaging robot, at least you knew where you stood. Zenith made a mental note to search for any guide books written on the mysterious science of Mingling that everyone but them seemed to understand. Timmy was a natural at it, but Timmy wasn't around to be used as a social anchor. For now, Zenith was thirsty, and they could spy a table with refreshments on it, and some heroes helping themselves to drinks without being glared at by Mr. Sinclair. Besides, Miss Kingsley was there, so surely it was all quite appropriate. And if someone disagreed, surely she would make them realise the error of their ways. They wove their way to the table, creeping almost sideways in a failed effort to be discreet, and helped themself to a cup of tea of doubtful quality. They returned Tabitha's smile. "You were right, Miss Kingsley. My worries did seem insignificant on stage," said the one who had been panicking and stumbling over their words the whole time. There was some truth in that statement, though - their bigger worries had seemed insignificant for a moment, drowned out by minor worries. "Now it's already bothering me again, can you imagine..." They stirred their tea nervously. It was a pity to keep bothering the lady, but she had offered them a chat, and they were worried that this would be the only opportunity in the singer's busy schedule. "I'm sorry to ask you for so much, but with your expertise in these matters, I don't think anyone would know better than you. I need to make a... a grand public apology." "It's all about Nyx, of course. There are so many things I failed to do. I could have stopped her so much sooner. I could have been better to her, or just noticed how she was changing." Their voice sounded lower and lower as they spoke, a bitter edge creeping into it. The corners of their mouth twisted into a more sardonic smile that they never showed in their hero costume. "And now the town's civilians are in more danger because of one person I angered. It's only a matter of time until they realise that I caused it all... They might even think that I'll follow in her footsteps next, after everything I've learned from her. But you know how the incident went last season - even with an apology, I just can't take responsibility for it all... and Nyx will still be out there plotting revenge. There's just no way to appease her before she does anything worse." They looked up abruptly. "Sorry for rambling. Um, have you ever had such problems with a partner, Miss Kingsley?" So um, I don't know about everyone else, but after the stage part of the event, Zenith has managed to find time to take a tea break, ok? And chat with Celestial because that is the most refreshing of refreshments.

It's about time I join in.There sat Salamandy and Scaletta, waiting for in the green room for Hero City. Things had been quiet for them with everyone focusing on everyone else. Salamandy wasn't a big fan of this. She wanted the attention. Then again, that would only lead to trouble, going in head on. Instead of doing something extravagant, she went with the simple route and went for getting an interview. What better way than showing the city the real them by actually telling them? Now she just had to wait for the reporter to come here... Salamandy tells Pixie that she plans the duo to be interviewed by Beatrice Bizelli ( June Scarlet ) in order to get viewers to get to know who they are.

“Nah bro, this is the night of a lifetime. You hear those cheers? They’re all for me! But if you listen real carefully, you might even make out somebody calling your name too. Soak it aaaaaaall up!” Timothy’s heart jumped when he heard DudeBro’s shout. “Yo, malfunction dude! I totally forgot that you were gonna be here!” The giant said, patting Tim’s back – the impact was such that he was put off his balance and nearly fell over Mizshu. “Does this mean that you’ll agree to the idea I pitched to ol’ Billy boy?” “Haha, DudeBro!” Tim exclaimed awkwardly, still crouching next to Mizshu. He thought he should probably stand to greet the All-Star, but then again he’d feel even shorter than he already did next to Zen. darn my 5 ft 5’’. I’ll just stay down here and avoid comparison.“I-idea? To Sinclair?” he mumbled. “What…idea?” “To be honest, when I told Mister Billy-Goat that a one hour special featuring the daring adventures of DUDE BRO™ and his trusty Malfunction Dude was a totally killer idea, he didn’t really respond. But he must have loved it if you’re here now!” The giant continued, and finally Tim grasped what he was talking about. “Ah! That idea! Yeah...I appreciate you’d consider me to uhm...join you. As your Malfunction Dude.” He said, “but I..uhm...time, you know? Can’t seem to find the. Uh. Time.” It was hard not to be jollied along by DudeBRO’s trademarked charisma. Self-centered? Yes. Vain? Yes. Sexist? Let’s just not get into that. But Tim couldn’t dislike him – he admired DudeBRO’s unshakable confidence and good mood. “So, which villain do you wanna beat to a pulp?” One of the fans out there told me that Screaming Scimitar was posting some crazy angsty blog posts about my Eyescream Bro leaving the hero business, so what do you say we give him something to really complain about!” “Well.” Tim shrugged and clapped his hands together. “Whatever comes on our way, I guess. I’ll hold them still for you. You can do your…punching thing. It’ll be grand.” But DudeBRO didn’t seem to listen – his attention had already shifted to the shy Mizshu. “Yo, you know all those fangirls and guys are here just for us, right?” Ain’t no use hiding from the cameras, you wouldn’t be here right now if they didn’t think that you deserved it, so stand proud and give them something to cheer about.” “He has a strange way of putting it – I know – but there’s good intention to it.” Tim said and finally stood up. He couldn't help but feel a slight touch of regret after noticing how even shorter he looked next to DudeBRO. “But if I were you, I’d rely on Miss Kingsley here. She knows what she says better than all of us combined.” “Timmy,” he then heard Zenith call from her place in the line. "Timmy will you just freeze him for us? Nobody will notice the difference." Timothy chuckled and whispered: “Your wish is my command.” He then turned his head slightly to DudeBRO and watched the All-Star slow down for a bit. “Now his fans get to admire him in slow-motion. How’s that for a treat.” Timothy turned back to face Zen and found Fireflyman calmly standing behind her. “Zen.” He gasped and began mouthing as well “Fireflyman. The Fireflyman. Next to you. Right now.” He had seen the luminescent hero on several occasions, but his inner fanboy got the best of him on every single one of them, including now. “Ask for an autograph!” He whispered to her, half-gasping in laughter. “Introduce me! I beg you! I’ll...I’ll make you waffles, whatever! Whatever you want! Just start a conversation!” He let out a genuine laugh and turned his face back to the audience. Good. Good, you’re loosening up again. Things are getting back to normal. No nose-bleeds, no nightmares, just the Hero Games now and nothing else. It's not April 26. It's not 3:45 PM. All is as it should be.His thoughts were interrupted by a buzz on his wrist. He checked the screen on it and, to his utmost delight, realized what it meant: No way. No way. He thought. Yes way."Zen." He turned to his friend again, suddenly even more euphoric "When we're backstage, there's someone that I want to introduce you to. And you too, Miss Kingsley. I've been looking forward to this for a while now!" Excellent. Page was right. You're freaking out over nothing, Timothy. Just relax and let nature take its course.Timothy Hikes tweaks a bit with Jayeee 's timing on Liou 's request. After geeking over the amazing Moni , he receives a text from Twillie and is taken by a sudden euphoria. He can't wait to get her introduced.

Fireflyman grabbed a cup and posted himself at the punch bowl, where his sweet tooth was happily indulging in its favorite hobby: making the poor insectoid crime-fighter consume enormous about of sugar. Currently, Fireflyman was depleting HCN's supply of punch at breakneck pace. He grabbed himself a cup of the stuff, shuffled all the punch into his mouth through a straw, and repeated the process until all the punch was gone. Then, a disgruntled attendant would go replace the punch bowl, which would attract newcomers who wanted to at least drink something before Fireflyman could take it all. "Sir," the attendant finally said, her brows furrowed judgmentally. "Would you like your own supply faucet for our punch?" Fireflyman stopped sucking his cup dry. The straw was relieved of the vacuum it had been in for the past 30 minutes and unfolded into its original tubular shape. His human irises moved to focus on the 30-something woman dressed in a blue-and-red suit. "Do you really have that?" "I wish we did." He shrugged and continued to drink the 1%-real-juice, artificially-flavored, sugar-laden beverage that glowed suspiciously like a red neon light. He'd barred himself from ever buying flavored beverages on his own, so this sort of thing was a once-in-a-year opportunity. And best of all, it was free.At some point, he grew sick of the beverage (though not as quickly normal humans should have grown sick of it) and slowly inched away from the punch bowl, asking his taste buds if they were really sure about not wanting anymore punch. It was ice cold, and Fireflyman was beginning to feel a little stuffy inside here. A few journalists and reporters were in the area--and only a few, those who had managed to procure access passes backstage to this very exclusive chance to ask the heroes what they thought and felt! As normal, very few people bothered Fireflyman--mostly because he'd been acting like a gigantic insect who had finally showed those pesky humans what-for when it came to the punch bowl. Zenith was currently speaking with Tabitha at the other side of the room about... something. When they'd complimented him on his performance on stage earlier with a cool, "Good show, man," he'd fumbled and replied something along the lines of "thank you," though he was worried he'd come off as overly cold for not looking Zenith in the eye as he said it. Logically, he knew they didn't notice much; they seemed very nervous talking to Tabitha anyway, and they were likely more focused on her than anything else at the time. Not that he necessarily thought it was unreasonable to be nervous in front of the redoubtable Ms. Kingsley, especially considering the bond she and Zenith shared. Fireflyman, for his part, didn't get to speak much with Tabitha Kingsley; he'd always thought she would have rejected him for his myriad of habits that didn't quite fit in with polite society. At least Glitch seemed happy; as a matter of fact, he seemed to be mouthing something to Zenith as they stood in the hero lineup (he swore he could have seen the words "Fireflyman" spelled out in his lips.) He wasn't quite sure what it was, but he planned to ask Timothy about it all once he saw him. He saw a young woman dressed in a one-piece camouflage suit that resembled the skin of a salamander--Salamandy, he remembered, she was called. Currently she was preoccupied with her sidekick and a very familiar Beatrice Bizelli. He didn't want to insert himself in that interview. A few minutes later, he'd found Mizshu and, not wanting to be much of a bother, greeted her quite simply. "Hello, Mizshu. I just thought to check up on you. Listen, don't worry too much about what others want you to do." It was a vague enough statement to not directly ruffle the feathers of anyone who might of been in earshot; Fireflyman could have been referring to the Hero City audience, he could have been referring to her peer group, or parents, or whomever the listener desired that he refer to. "It's quite alright to just be yourself. The performance itself isn't too big of a deal and doing well at it doesn't mean anything. I mean, DUDE BRO's famous and good at the game, but"--he lowered his voice--"he's a giant nincompoop." Fireflyman hogs the punch bowl for a good while. Oh, and also, he spots Liou and Celestial speaking in the distance and remembers how he reacted to Zenith's comments. He remembers noticing Dju mouthing something to him about Zenith when they were onstage and plans to ask him if he wanted anything from him. He also spots Rabbit ♠ and June Scarlet. He starts an interaction with Mizshu ( Mostly Harmless (flufflepuff)), telling her not to worry so much about what other people think of her and takes an opportunity to insult DUDE BRO in the process.

(collab with Dju ) When Tim walked backstage, his heart skipped a beat when he saw her. “Natasha!” He said, a bright smile taking over his face. “I can’t believe you’re here, how did you-” It didn’t matter, she was there and he could not care for anything else. He removed his helmet and kissed her lips. “I was so worried about…” He remembered his bloodied bedsheet. "How did...it go yesterday? I...I uh...We went to the movies, right?" With their kiss, Natasha had wrapped her arms around Tim, keeping a tight hold as he reciprocated the embrace. Her head rested upon his shoulder, but at his last inquiry, she raised up and stared at him with confused, slightly concerned eyes. "Yes... Yes, we did. I had a very good time, and afterwards you wished me a goodnight before going home... Why? Do you not remember?” "Oh. Oh what a relief. I mean I...I don't want to scare you, it's just…” He catched his breath and kissed her forehead. “Sometimes, because of my powers, I tend to...mix things up. Sorry about that." "Aw, baby…” Natasha put a hand to his face, softly kissing his cheek and whispering, “You haven't been having trouble with that, have you? Are you feeling alright?" "Don't worry,” he said dismissively. The last thing Timothy wanted to do now was scare her away. “I'm working it out. I had a talk a while back with our friend, Page. Met him backstage, can you believe it?" “Gordan?” Natasha took on a curious expression, flitting her gaze to either side, searching. “What were you two--” "But nevermind that.” Tim sighed. He pulled her in a little closer in hopes of distracting from the worrying subject. “Did you watch the show?" "Yeah, I was able to see you on TV before I got here! I don't even know how you did half of that with the lights and everything!” Natasha’s eye brightened, and a smile stretched across her face as she leaned closer towards him. She blushed as she added, “You were my favorite hero up there." Tim ( Dju ) meets up with his girlfriend, Natasha, backstage, and the two catch up from last night. Tim mentions his encounter with Gordan ( Gelquie ), but doesn't want to go into too much detail for fear of scaring Natasha. Instead, he diverts the subject to the show's opening. As the heroes are on break, they are welcome to happen upon this happy couple

Beatrice Bizelli’s Journalist-Sense tingled. Someone out there was wanting an interview. No wait, that was her smartdevice setting off a reminder that Salamandy and Scaletta had arranged an interview with her. Beatrice looked around from her bad vantage point backstage for the pair, but like the rest of the heroes, they were nowhere in sight of the gaggle of reporters. It was hopeless, no one was going to find her here. However, she did have a scheduled interview with two of the show’s heroes, surely that was a good enough reason to be allowed further backstage. They were new, they would be willing to vouch for her, surely. She just needed a way to past the others – and Dmitri. Beatrice pointed dramatically at a shadowy corner. “Wait! Over there! Is that Nyx Nightshadow?!” The results were instantaneous. All the reporters turned to get a peek at the mysterious hero-turned-villain. Dimitri called for backup from the guards around him. Beatrice broke away from the crowd and dashed out of sight. She tucked her poofy hair into a hat, and turned her jacket inside out, vaguely appearing like a different person if you weren’t really paying attention. Not a great disguise, but hopefully she wouldn’t need better. She briefly wondered if she’d gone too far. The answer was probably yes, actually, but she didn’t have time for that. She needed this article, she needed this headline, she needed to keep her job. Beatrice briskly strolled through the backstage, not looking anyone in the eye, trying to appear as if she belonged here, looking for the two girls who were her excuse for being here before she was caught. And as luck would finally have it, there they were. Beatrice rushed up to them and said all in one breath, “Hello I’m Beatrice Bizelli Journalist of Hero City how do you guys feel about being a part of this show now?” Beatrice Bizelli answers the call to journalism at any cost, making up a lie about Thorn being backstage as a distraction. She then hones in on the interviewees, Rabbit ♠ and pixie . You know, Beatrice, these questionable methods work better for you when you're a hero than a journalist.

Dynamic was quite enjoying themselves. The crowd was roaring with excitement, with each new face on the stage bringing a fresh wave of cheers. Dynamic waved with the rest as each of their fellow heroes emerged, and allowed themselves to be shifted about as everyone tried to get closer to the stage. They even instigated the shifting on their own a few times; the fan who had stolen DUDE BRO's Speedo was waving it around to show their friends, and Dynamic didn't want anybody's used undergarments flying around them, no matter who that person was. They scanned the crowd around them, green eyes searching for a familiar face in this sea of excitement. There were many fans of Hero City, but Dynamic rarely met them. They only knew a scant few fans by name, all of them children who would likely be in bed already. Except- They stood a little taller on their toes, trying to see better. There was a pair of young people- probably related, from the looks of their faces- who Dynamic thought they recognized, though they couldn't remember from where. Still, it might be nice to have someone to talk to. Shuffling through the crowd to get a bit closer, Dynamic finally managed to take a spot near the closest of the pair, a small girl, and looked up at the stage. "Good turnout tonight, hm?" Dynamic wanders through the crowd looking for someone familiar (and dodging used Speedos) until they spot Natalie and Ossie in the crowd and decide to say hi. ( Avery)
