Holy sweet jimmies – I’ve finally caught up reading all the posts I’ve missed! Guys guys guys. This is so amazing, seriously! Draco – what a power! Super creative and exciting and flexible, too – to see it in action will be amazing. Celestial – oh my goodness, Tabithaaaa @_@ I can’t imagine one single person here who isn’t already in love with her! She reminds me a bit of Kate Moss’ Miss Meadows – the lovely, sweet crime fighter! Moni – can I declare myself Fireflyman’s number one fan? *u* He’s just so lovable and wacky…I adore it so much. Jayeee – your post had me laughing out loud so badly. XD That hero is like…the ultimate All-Star! It’s superb, really. Can’t wait to read more!! XD Alrighty alrighty. I’d like you guys to meet scary face Timothy Hikes! I am mostly developing him alongside his masters Friends, but considering he was once part of the good guys, I want to develop his relationship with your characters as well! Timothy is… Mentally unstable, for sure. Prompt to delusions. Absolutely dependent on his new best Friends. Loses track of time frequently. But then again, time was never too easy with Tim. Ever since he had a mysterious (yet to be developed) accident during his graduation year, he’s been able to bend time to his will. He can speed things up, or slow them down…or even pause them for good! The smaller the object, the better for Tim. If it’s too big, well…it will take effort. He can speed and slow himself when it suits him – which makes him a good match for a race. He can’t pause himse,lf thought. Because if you think too much, that’s a paradox. .__. (how is he pausing himself while being paused?) In physical matters, you can expect a performance of a regular 20-ish year old man – he can lift a few heavy boxes, sure. But if he gets hit by a car, well…ouch. But ever since gaining powers, Tim has realized his life has been a perpetual pause. He can’t sleep, he can’t eat, he can’t age – he’s like a programming error in the fabric of time. He’s a Glitch. And so, taking up that name, he decided to re-purpose his existence and do some good for Heraclia. In his recent years taking part of the show, Glitch became a well known member of the cast, well like by the public and familiar to his colleagues. But during these last months, it seems like Glitch hasn’t quite been…himself. He’s grown paler, twitchier and has suddenly developed a taste for solitude, raising eyebrows amongst his hero friends. He says he’s fine, and his dark humor seems as sharp as ever, but still he seems to be…glitching. So this is what I got so far! It feels very flat – but I promise I’ll give it more depth. I really want to connect more with other heroes so Tim can actually have a life before being hypnotized, I find that to be very important. XD Like, establish some good relationships with the good guys, because he’s like…one of you. Deep inside. XD

A round zero sounds spiffy! Like you said, it'll be nice to have a warm-up to test out our characters and the setting before the game proper.
Dju, did you draw that picture? It's awesome! Captures Mr. Scaryface perfectly!

You know, I think that'd be cool, because at least with my character, so much of her personality comes from the context of the people she interacts with. So it might be nice to have a practice round with no stakes involved, just to get a feel for what it's all like.
I was thinking a bit about Beatrice Bizelli, and I don't think she'd work for Sinclair and his cable network, but rather an independent newspaper or news website or whatever. Just because then she's not obliged to keep the secrets of her employer.

Juuuust a quick thing we wanted to reinforce since we've noticed it coming up in a few places- Heraclia does not have any nuclear power plants. None. As we mentioned a few weeks ago in our worldbuilding post, it is powered by a hydroelectric dam, wind turbines, and to a lesser extent solar power. So any character development or plot ideas pertaining to a nuclear power plant should probably be revised before ya'll get too far down the rabbit hole. There’s a lot of room to worldbuild - and we’re excited to see what you come up with! But it would be a good idea to take another glance at the preliminary worldbuilding that was established prior to sign-ups so that we make sure we’re all coming to the table from the same plane and not contradicting one another. You can find links to the posts in question below. ^^ ntwriters.proboards.com/post/2682055ntwriters.proboards.com/post/2682817

She reminds me a bit of Kate Moss’ Miss Meadows – the lovely, sweet crime fighter! Visually, I've realised, she reminds me a little of the far less sweet Neopolitan from RWBY. With Neo, it was also love at first sight on my part soooo...that was really going to be a given with Tabitha, all things considered. xD

Looooove them! <3 "They're a little bit of a dork"- 'adorkable' is one of my favourite character types, so this made me smile. =)

A preliminary round sounds great, I'm all for it Also, just a small addition to my character information: though they're not set in stone yet, I'm tentatively naming the twins Layla and Adam Karimi *throws confetti* Also Shinko's post reminded me that I still haven't figured out where they got their powers from yet, haha whoops XD (it'll probably be genetic somehow, considering some of my plans. Hmm) Yesss all you guys' characters sound fabulous, this is so exciting

It occurred to me that I don't think I actually mentioned in this thread that Nyx used to participate in Hero City, before she was kicked off the last season for a combination of falling ratings and one particular 'final straw' stupid, dramatic incident that has yet to be defined.
I mean I've mentioned that in PMs but forgot to bring it up here. So. Here I am, bringing it up!
Sporty- there don't seem to be too many heroes with genetic powers right now (Dude Bro and maybe Draco's character, off the top of my head), so that could be really kewl!

I never came up with how my character gained abilities XD His origin right now is pretty lazy, one day he had it, the end XD So you can toss it up to a genetic mutation or something right now XD

*Fireflyman now works in nuclear biology research and the effect of radiation on fishes due to Heraclia's scientific community strong emphasis on being climate-friendly! (it was a better idea anyway, since he wanted to be a marine biologist)
Ahem, Thorn, Fireflyman also has his powers from genetic mutation! I mean, it's true, the genes mostly gave him the ability to use opposable thumbs and not any superpowers or anything, BUT THAT STILL COUNTS. In his heart.

But I forgot about his mundane human powers, only recalled that his firefly ones were natural and only considered powers because he's no longer a firefly. xP

Dju Awww, poor Timothy. D: He sounds like an interesting enough take on a trope I'm lukewarm toward. Also, on a totally lighter note that only tangentially has to do with his character, he totally reminds me of this: I AM NOT A GLITCH, I AM THE QUEEN OF CANDY KING OF THIS WORLD. BOW DOWN TO ME. and sure, you can be part of the fan club. xPP the very deserted fanclub. - ThornSee, being human is his superpower! (And I think I might have unintentionally stumbled on a theme for him there in a very metaphorical sense xPP) - The best thing about Fireflyman is the fact that because he's so silly (+started out a joke), I don't actually feel pressured about him at all. I can be as crap as I am without feeling too bad about it.

I do think having 'being human' as his superpower is pretty great, actually. xD
You seem to have a lot of neat ideas, you don't need to worry about being 'crap'! But all the same, I'm glad you've found a character you're comfortable playing- it's always stressful when you have trouble creating a character which totally clicks with you!
