FIREFLYMAN'S HERO CITY CAREER Fireflyman doesn't really care much for the celebrity of Hero City (though the money is nice)--ultimately, he just likes to see people smile, which is why it never really bothers him that he's viewed as a joke character. He is most popular with small children and women over 40 years old. The most common internet memes about him are ones pointing out that fireflies aren't really flies, but beetles. Fireflyman has a gun licence. He enjoys hunting deer and eating venison gyros. Against the villainous, Fireflyman is possibly the least exciting hero, because he'll just use a conventional tranquilizer or firearm if he can. If it works, it works--no reason to get super fancy all the time. In a hand-to-hand fight, it is possible option to revert back to his hunting ways back when he was a firefly--as in, disabling things with pincers and inserting a digestive enzyme to liquify his prey from the inside, but Fireflyman has indeed taken a few ethics courses as part of his assimilation in human society, and has long decided that such methods of taking people and animals down were inhumane and that he should not generally do this. Fireflyman doesn't really compete with other heroes because he fails to see the grand point. Instead, he just kind of does his own thing most of the time. Sometimes he forgoes conflict and instead tries to solve things diplomatically, often with humorous results.

Jay, I have never grinned so much while simultaneously hating a character so much, as when I read your post. xD He sounds hilarious, and a truly awful person, and I'm excited to see how his interactions with other characters go down-particularly Tabitha.
On that note, Celestial, I have such a weakness for olde timey clothes and such. <3 For my twenty first, my mother gave me a tailcoat; and for my eighteenth a pocket watch. So I am totally biased, but I lovelovelove Tabitha's design. Those frills, that coat- she's awesome!
Moni, Fireflyman is both the hero Heraclia deserves, and the one it needs right now. He's wonderful. <3

I usually don't like to give my character away before the beginning, but since everyone is doing it! XDD Plus, I guess it helps to set up any pre-existing relationships and whatnot. So, I'd better tell you about the hero whose name you'll hear chanted across the city 8D: The utopic planet of Mancandia is facing dire peril. In a world where the female gender was non-existent for years, a chance exploration mission led to the discovery. OF THE FEMALE SPECIES OUT THERE IN THE UNIVERSE!
So naturally they decided to kidnap said species on an annual basis and force them to live in Mancandia for all eternity. Because who wouldn’t love that, right?
However, social unrest had started to flourish; who the heck gave these women permission to rebel anyway?! The men didn’t, that’s for darn sure. And now the women of Mancandia have disappeared. Some of them built a rocket in secret - while the men were drinking beer and punching things - and escaped the planet. But most of them simply fled to a remote island and created a forcefield around it. Rumour has it that at night they like to jam radio signals with the sounds of them partying to the men’s favourite music: Dubstep.
Enter DUDE BRO™ (Real Name: TBC). With super-powered individuals so common in Mancandia, having Super Speed was nothing particularly special. But it did have it’s uses. So when it was decided that instead of diplomatically discussing terms with the women already on the planet (because ain’t nobody got time for that) they should just go and get some more, DUDE BRO™ seemed like the most annoying suitable candidate.
Despite having a run-of-the-mill power back home, in Heraclia he was a star. When asked in interviews, DUDE BRO™ would state that his real power was super-human good looks (swoon), and the fangirls leapt at him. So maybe staying here for an extended period of time was a good thing. And besides, there was always trouble brewing in Heraclia, and he was made for the camera. He could still grab a bunch of women for back home in the end, that mission was never forgotten, but for now the call of fame and fortune was a strong one.
It was a pretty comfy gig. When he wasn’t making women weak at the knees from his daring heroics, DUDE BRO™ fancied himself a performer. Impromptu appearances at birthday parties, weddings, even the odd hen night, that were never pre-planned, but money was required nonetheless.
Hero City couldn’t ask for a better role model. And people were worried about what I would do? XD This is going to be one heck of a reality tv show XD

It would not be a reality show if they didn't intentionally recruit unstable drama llamas and sociopaths just to get into cat fights for the ratings.

Tagging everyone so this doesn't get missed =P We've been discussing rounds and quests and the delay time between now and the start of the game, and are considering adding a prologue round - this would be in addition to the nine rounds currently promised. This "Round 0" would start on the 11th and continue until the 16th, and would give everyone a chance to set up their heroes, the setting, and some basic relationships with others, and for everyone to become familiar with the quest mechanics before the game begins and those quests gain extra importance. Would this adversely affect anyone, or would people be willing to do this extra round?

I'm all for having a Round 0, I think it's a great idea to have an introduction time! However, I have a bit of an issue because I'm going away on a trip from the 15th to the 18th, and that falls at the very start of the ACTUAL game... will this affect me negatively? I'd hate starting at a disadvantage and having to play catch up the rest of the game! XD;;

A Round 0 honestly sounds reassuring to me, like I can make all my mistakes before the game actually starts XD And getting hands on with characters could probably help greatly in developing them, as ideas can be different in practice than when they're just in your head.
Also, I won't be anymore busy around that time than I will when the actual game starts, so I personally have no issue with it :3
