Aaaaaand now I'm worried. I had to reset my computer due to a malware incident, and now I no longer have Microsoft Word on it and can't redownload it since my college has the referral program down since it's summer. I now have no way to open my in-progress story. D: You can open .doc or .docx files without microsoft office. OpenOffice (a free, reputable word document software) can open your file, and from there you can save it to another format or continue working on it. You can also upload the file through Google Drive and edit it through Google Docs. I use OpenOffice (because I have old computers ) but I understand LibreOffice is slightly more modern and more reliable - just haven't got around to using it. LibreOffice does the exact same thing, free download, well regarded, opens all types of files. And of course, Google Docs works too, but I don't think it lets you edit? You can at least copy/paste though.

Also, my piece for this is mostly done.
I'm just editing and will submit sometime later in the week.

Comic is done! Tentative title is just Sunny Side Up. I'm not sure if I want to add an extra subtitle yet, but we'll see. Ciebatta has an interesting but potentially lucrative dream! Waiting for a later submission day and/or deadline, if you guys are figuring that out.

As the unofficial NT collab advertiser, I am spreading the news. I'm hyping my buddies in the ArC. Now I am the unofficial NT collab hype girl.

So... *checks initial post* June 24th, huh? I'm pretty sure this is NOT going to happen for me this time. Granted, this is post-Disney trip "I'm barely feeling human" me posting right now, so if you give me a few days, I may feel up to it again, but my gut is that it's a no for me this time. Extremely tentative right now.

Allison- It's no worries! If you can do it, great! If not, there's next time. Also, June 10th is more of a soft deadline to ensure CQ has ample time to see everything. If you're willing to submit closer to the deadline, the 20th is likely the true deadline... but that also gives CQ less chance to reading it in time (unless you send her a neomail alerting her).

I have to admit, I'm getting very nervous about the submission date... The good news is my story is coming together nicely so far, finally had some free time to work on it some more this week. I know I have until the week of the 24th to submit it, but I'm very anxious to try and get it released as early as possible so I don't end up missing the collab. Ah well, wish me luck...

You can at least copy/paste though. On the surface, they are the same. Deep down, the difference between LibreOffice and OpenOffice is a philosophical argument on how the software should be licensed but the foundations of both derive from the same codebase. However, LibreOffice appears to be updated more frequently so it may have better compatibility with Word documents. Google Docs lets you edit after a quick conversion process. That just saves another copy of the document. After being tired of all these file formats, I write in a special type of plaintext called markdown (.md) using editing software that does grammar and spelling checking. I can then export this file to hmm...pdf, docx, odt, HTML, txt, etc...literally anything for anybody.

Okay, I've submitted my comic, Dinner with the Scarlets: Cream Dream Scream. I'm really sorry Carolyn, I really sort of drifted off on this collab, I know. I was supposed to help you more than I did.

June Scarlet, it's fine. You had other things to worry about! Rabbit ♠ has been helping me as well, so I've been managing alright.
