Okay, only one picture can sum up this movie: It. Was. AWESOME. Two thumbs (and one droid thumb) up! BB-8 is adorable.

That is the indisputable truth =D The only downside to BB-8's adorableness is that it might inspire feelings of jealousy in R2-D2. R2-D2: Beep! Beep! Beep! (Dastardly BB-8, you have stolen my fan base!) Don't worry, R2-D2! You still have your fan base! It... probably only just shrank a bit. A teeny little bit. R2-D2: Beep! (Die, BB-8!) I foresee the "BB-8 or R2-D2" debate eventually taking over the "Rey Skywalker or Rey Solo" debate.

And I can think of the perfect pic to sum up the fandom reaction to the film, too! (...but I totally can't find the pic online! D= I'm talking about the moment on the Falcon where Finn and Rey are HAPPY and EXCITED before it all goes downhill from there but yes, my main point being the film left fans HAPPY and EXCITED). And for me TFA was only the second time I'd seen a Star Wars film in theatres. The last time being Revenge of the Sith when I was younger and...it upset me a lot, so it was extra nice to get to see a Star Wars film in theatres and actually enjoy it this time! (yeah the film was AWESOME, I went twice and it was even better the second time. <3 I'm on Team Rey Skywalker btw. Just because I think it's most likely true, not because I prefer that theory- in my heart I just want her to be related to Obi-Wan). (and BB8 vs. Artoo is too close to call, Artoo existed all through my childhood and so there's an extra nostalgic spot in my soul for eeet).

I think BB-8, R2 and 3PO should totally appear together as a trio in the next one, BB-8's different enough from R2 that the three of them could have some hilarious interactions. BB-8 was hilarious and scene-stealing enough by himself, though.

I'm on Team Rey Skywalker btw. Just because I think it's most likely true I also think Rey Skywalker is the most likely outcome, but what I would really like is if it turned out that Rey was not related to the Skywalkers or Kenobi or Palpatine — if she was just one of the padawans whom Luke was training before everything went downhill. Not only would it be less cliched, but it would make the current explosion of Kylo Ren/Rey fanfiction less disturbing compared to the more popular theories. One of the most far-fetched theories I've heard is that Rey is actually a reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker and, like Anakin, has no father. Although it would have been interesting to see how that kind of scenario would play out, especially in how it would have influenced Kylo Ren's interactions with Rey.

Rey is clearly a Fett.

Oh NOOOOOO, is PALPATINE a theory? xD That guy is the worst. And I mean it would be neat if she was just one of those padawans, but I seriously doubt it, considering how important family connections have been throughout the series. Ooh I heard that theory! Not sure how I feel about it, it could be really awesome but is reincarnation established as a thing in the continuity at all? Without foreshadowing it could come off feeling a little odd. (if it has been established, I can't remember so sorry for le ignorance!).
Maybe, I dunno. Actual scriptwriters tend to be better at writing than me, so I'm sure they could still pull it off awesomely. xD @fangofthedead No shesa a Binks.Overdone yes, but I have no regrets.

considering how important family connections have been throughout the series. Thirty years ago...DARTH VADER: Luke... I'm your father. LUKE: NOOOOOOOOO! Thirty years later...LUKE: Rey... I'm your father. REY: And you left me alone on a @#$%! desert planet and never once bothered to check up on me?! Hell NO you ain't! Notice how Jedi descended from the Skywalker line seem to be cursed with arbitrary amputation of limbs as a direct result of being on the losing end of a lightsaber duel? It almost makes me pray that Rey is NOT a Skywalker, because I don't want the same fate to befall her No, I don't think reincarnation was so much as mentioned throughout the series at all. I can see it working this way, however:
If I remember correctly, the story behind Anakin's miraculous birth was that he was "born of the Force", i.e. rather than saying he has no father, his father is the Force. If Rey was conceived in the same immaculate fashion, then that would make her Anakin's half-sister, Luke's aunt, and Kylo Ren's great-aunt. Wait whut how does my mind come up with these crazy ideas

Though I do have a massive soft spot for roboticy things, I would probably actually not be too upset if it happened, depending on how she dealt with it I suppose. =P I can see how that makes sense, provided it's done well. I was never quite sold on the 'child of the force' thing with Anakin.
My personal hopes for the series are much less dramatic, haha. Mainly I just want her to build a double-bladed lightsaber if she ends up making her own, because the series can ALWAYS do with more of those! =P (but blue or green? That is the real big question!)

Double-bladed lightsabers are the definition of awesome but impractical. See, if you make one wrong move, you're gonna cut yourself in half. Kylo's crossguard Lightsaber, while unintentional on his part since the crossguards are exhaust fumes, is practical since it not only blocks other lightsabers from reaching your hand, it can be used as a dagger.
Of course, I might just be saying this because I think Darth Maul is a bit overrated. He's still cool, but Kylo is a more interesting villain with more depth.

I find Maul visually interesting, but no, I also prefer both Kylo and Vader to him. They are impractical, but c'mon, so is Phasma's cape. They put the "cool" in impractical! (Which only works as an aural joke but ehhhhh). I would still love it, and her fighting style with the staff seems to hint at such things. (On a side note, TFA is playing for the last time in theatres next week for just five N.Z dollars! I think I might just have to go back).

Ah, I totally want a lightsaber! (Even though I would definitely hurt myself.) xD I love science fiction so I enjoyed the movie a lot--though I am more of a Star Trek fan. (I've watched both TOS and NextGen.)
Aren't impractical weapons a hallmark of science fiction? xP Speaking of which (and pardon my clueless-ness), but what decides the color of the saber? My brother tried to explain it... something about the Jedi finding special stones/gems/whatever to power their saber? Could they make multi-colored sabers?

My brother tried to explain it... something about the Jedi finding special stones/gems/whatever to power their saber? Could they make multi-colored sabers? I don't know a lot about saber construction, but I know there are a kind of organic crystals called 'kyber crystals', and when a Jedi constructs their saber the colour of the crystal they choose determines the color of the blade. The red crystals that the Sith/other dark side peeps use are artificially constructed, and I don't know if they means they can ONLY be red, or maybe that's unrelated. (I've not read a lot on this, so other peeps should feel free to chime in!) (Also should one of us just make a board in clubs, seeing as this is all drifting dangerously away from review-like talk? xD).

I went to check the Clubhouse, and it turns out that there already is a Star Wars fanclub — that was last updated in 2010 So the question becomes: perform necromancy, or create a new board?
