Got it. He stumbled around some more in the darkness, occasionally bumping into Chiller. She stood next to him, their shoulders touching. While they waited she engaged him in a whispered conversation. Even in the darkness, you could tell he was flustered with his responses.

She grinned and nudged him a little. Above them, Ollie concentrated on the Beta she could sense. She knew the base mind of Betas could be controlled if you were a person authorized to do so. It was the loophole that had allowed an addition to be made to the Betas to give them personality and free will. She 'told' the Beta to freeze, uncomfortable with doing than that to them. Below her, Chiller stopped talking, and stood very still. Most of her basic body functions were controlled by the small part of a human brain she did have, so while she didn't die it was clear something was wrong. Next, Grind told the nearby mechanical arm to punch the Beta.

His arm suddenly felt more foreign and removed than usual, and seemingly without forethought he launched out into a punch at her head. It was dark, but the dulled pressure sensation and jerk of his shoulder was enough indication that he had somehow done that.

He tensed and his feathers agitated as he shot up, arm refusing to budge at any command.

Seeing that it couldn't be done, he shifted to trying to support her better with his wings and other hand.
Managing some combination of this, Artemis looked and stumbled around the darkness.

Mail, Prooobably Not JeffelyChiller was alive, but unresponsive. Blood dripped from where she'd been punched. Grind waited for Luke to finish and join her on the airboard. Elsewhere, an inquiry was made to Ampitch-Anne about Luke and a recent sample that had been collected.

I know he lives on earth and he seems to be aiding the people there in the search for Ira. Records say he isn't very imposing. This sample is of the Glyphos B parasite, the apex predator from the moon Glyphos. If this is from who you suspect to be luke, then he is a parasite.

With his free hand he grabbed at the boards and try to wrench them off to let more light in.
He could finally see the blood across Chiller's face. With a ragged gasp, his arm suddenly gave out and she fell to the floor.
