Encouraged by the recent revival of Neohome Spotlight, I decided to submit mine. Then I realized I probably don't stand a chance because the homes that usually win are veritable palaces. xd So I thought I would share it here! :3 This home is inspired by a lot of things, but the main concepts are peace and simplicity. A Good Place for ThinkingFrom the dock, bid goodbye to the ship with the golden sail, and turn inland. When the calls of gulls have faded away and the air is summery-sweet, you will come to a gate framed by topiaries. Walk along the winding path and turn in among the stones till you find the tree at the heart of the maze. Turn out again and cross the bridge to the gazebo. Listen to the running water. Inside, wipe your feet on the bamboo mat, and feel the cool of the peach-tiled floor. In the hall you will find a wall of cubes filled with books and treasures. Eat, drink, and rest awhile. This is a place where your soul can be at peace.

I like it a lot! Sometimes I think the people who win make really cluttered, distracting house. But this one is really nice and simple and clear.
There is that rather open space in the middle of the red room that looks like it would benefit from something else--maybe a rug or some type of ornamentation? But otherwise I really like it, especially that shelving feature and the spiral path on the outside.
I always wished TNT cared a little more about Neohomes 2.0. There are so many items they released up to 4 years ago that were never activated *sigh* But I am glad that the spotlight is still going strong!

O___O I shouldn't have spoken so soon! Message from theneopetsteam Dear Stephanie, Your entry for Neohome of the Week has been held over by the judges. While this does not mean that you have won, it does mean that you have made a good first impression and they have saved your entry for closer consideration. That is a good sign. We just want to make sure you are aware of this in case you had it in mind to change your entry. It would probably be best not to at this point. So congratulations! If the status of your entry changes after further perusal, you will be notified. Sincerely, Happy Neopets Neohome Judging Team! Aaaahhhh this is so exciting! I feel really encouraged that they would even consider it, because I have so little stuff compared with most entrants, and all of it is NP stuff to boot. I like it a lot! Sometimes I think the people who win make really cluttered, distracting house. But this one is really nice and simple and clear. And Coaster Yeah I think that after the spotlight (unless the status of my entry changes), I will do some kind of floor pattern in the middle. The one downside of Neohomes 2.0 is that you can't make crazy amazing tiling patterns. But maybe even just with squares I can figure out some kind of mosaic. And ikr! So many items don't work. It's sad that the shenkuu cushion has a green rectangle around it too. The visual glitch bugs me a little but there just isn't anything else that looks like a seating cushion that matches the table. Hopefully TNT will fix it someday

I've seen you at least a couple of times now on the Notable Neohome. Congrats.

You know what's freaking awesome? making your own floor overviews where you attach all your rooms together, like so: You can totally see all your rooms in your classic neohome as a whole.
