"It wasn't that Isabelle was always a mean drunk it's just her moods shifted. A lot. It only took one careless man to set her rage off. I only just got them separated..." Hector explained to Seamus as they went inside. He continued to blush even harder as though his cheeks wanted to outshine his bright hair. "I had to take her back to the castle. I did not see Isabelle the next morning but later she got mad enough at me for the headache she had. But that wasn't the worst part." It was Lindsey's turn to cringe. "As you can expect, it did not take long for his Grace to hear about this. He personally paid us a visit," he shuddered. "This was before we had been officially made knights so we thought we were going to be sent packing. But the Woo must have smiled down at us because he seemed to take it in good humour. Well enough to relegate our punishment to the trainee captain." Hector gave off an awkward laugh and rubbed the back of his neck. "I never want to be confined to the castle again, let me tell you." They arrived at a nice table with three seats, well within sight of the bar. Lindsey smirked at Hector as he pulled a chair back for him, into which Hector gratefully flopped. His eyes darted around as he took in the familiar surroundings, the memories coming back to him. "At least I know what kind of drunks you two are, so there won't be any unpleasant surprises," he grinned sheepishly at Seamus. Lindey gave off a small snort of laughter. "Nah, relax, we're not the Duchess, and you'll be drunk right alongside us so you won't notice anything," he grinned at Seamus. "A strong drink might be a good idea. We need the groom-to-be to get drunkest at his bachelor party. I'll be right back" He turned and headed over to the bar, chatting with the innkeeper briefly. With a nod of his head, Lindsey gestured at Hector, prompting a hearty laugh from the man behind the bar. After a short while, he had poured three drinks, including one darker one, which the knight took over to the table. He pushed the darker mug to Hector, which he caught and examined. "I'm afraid it's nothing a fancy as what we had at the Silver Crown, but the innkeeper said it's a pretty decent stout, and strong too," he passed one of the other mugs to Seamus. "Ale for us, not as strong but enough to get us nicely buzzed, if we aren't already," he picked up his own drink and held it aloft. "Best part is, I told the innkeeper your story and why we're here. He gave us this first round on the house." Lindsey gave of a laugh and held up the mug of ale to the centre of the table. "So here's to Hector and the Duchess's ecapades and the fact that thanks to them, I can preserve some of my money!" The boys reveal more of the story and the aftermath before Lindsey goes over and grabs their drinks, which thanks to the story are free. He makes a toast to this fact.

Seamus raised his glass for the toast, taking a generous gulp of his ale. Once he set down the glass he chortled. "I can only imagine how that was for ye both. I would nae want tae be the one having tae explain to his grace why Isabelle was hung over." The nobleman shuddered. "Between ye both 'n me, Grand Duke Alain scares the whey out of me. Did I ever tell ye about when I was first applying for the job of bookkeeper? The quatermaster and stewards were the ones interviewing me; his grace was there, right enough, but he didnae say anything. Instead he just stood off tae the side of the room and watched. Nae talking, nae a hint of what he was thinking on his face. I'd almost swear he never once blinked. Just watched. Unnerving it was." The man shook his head and took another drink of his ale. As he set the mug down, sly smile quirked at his mouth. "So Hector, he's tae be yer father-in-law in the next few days. Have fun with that." Seamus comisserates with the knights, because Alain is scary.

Hector winced, taking a big gulp of his stout. "It was...probably not the most terrifying thing I've ever done but close," he looked down at the table, studying the grain in it. "The worst part was not telling his Grace everything. Including about the drunken fight that almost happened and having to carry her back to the castle. But it felt like he just knew anyway." "It's the stare, and the smile," Lindsey gave off a snort and a louder than usual laugh. "Seamus, good luck finding anybody in the castle who is not even a little bit afraid of the Grand Duke. We didn't have your experience when we were being knighted, he did it himself, thank Woo, but we both still got that...especially the judging stare," he lifted up his mug to his lips. "Though it might have been my imagination but Hector got the brunt of it, since he was friends with his daughter." "I think it was just your imagination, Lindsey," Hector grinned at him. "You got stared at just as hard." "Really, I must have not noticed. Forgive me, I was too focused on finally being knighted," Lindsey's face matched Seamus's. "But you're going to get plenty of judging stares now that you're his son-in-law. After all, his Grace will want to make sure you're treating his daughter and heir well. So you better not slip up, or off with your head it shall be." Hector's eyes widened. "He's not going to do that, Lindsey!" he cried suddenly, making several people around them look up at him. The ginger knight glanced around sheepishly. "I mean, I don't think Isabelle will like it if he does." "Going to hide behind the Duchess's skirts?" Lindsey smirked. "Brave, Hector, very brave." "She's the toughest though. I don't mind hiding behind her skirts," the other knight smiled and sighed. "She's so strong and brave and-" "And there he goes," Lindsey turned to Seamus, laughing. "Sorry, I seem to have set him off. The curse of the smitten man, alas We need to find another topic," he took another sip of beer. "How are you finding the ale, by the way? Not fancy, by any means, but not bad for free drinks." The two knights sympathise because Alain scares them too. Lindsey joins in the joking about Hector having him as his father-in-law, prompting Hector to talk about Isabelle. Lindsey turns back to Seamus, knowing this will be a while.

Seamus chuckled rather harder than one might have expected at Hector's dreamy expression, shaking his head. Lindsey's question prompted the bookkeeper to lift his mug with a broad grin and down another big gulp. "I'm nae so spoiled I'll turn my nose up at common stuff, so long as it's good," he replied cheerfully. "And free's always better than nae free." Deeming it prudent to take Lindsey's request for a change of topic, he said, "So what's knight training like? Ah know Ah've heard it starts pretty young, and involves squiring under a full knight..." He gave a rather loud bark of a laugh, "Ye twa must have been over the moon, havin' it finally done with." His speech was getting noticeably rougher as he went along, the careful enunciation that had been trained into him as a young noble slipping away. His hometown of Jennet was fairly isolated up in the mountains of Bern, and as with most mountain villages in the highlands it had it's own dialect of Kythian that was often considered nigh indecipherable by anyone not familiar with it. Generally Seamus' speech was perfectly understandable, if with a bit of an odd affectation on certain words or sounds. But the slipping away of his articulation was usually the first sign he was starting to feel the alcohol in his system. "If she'd nae be cross with me gawping, maybe ye could let me see the Dunchess when shes aboot the trainin' yard with the knights," he added. "Ah keep hearin' how she's the toughest lass in Destrier, but ah've never seen for myself. Come tae think, Ah've never seen ye twa spar either. Next time there's a tourney ye should be sure tae let me know." Seamus goes along with Lindsey's attempts to change the subject, asking them what their training as knights was like. As he does so, his brogue starts thickening, indicating that he's catching up to Lindsey and starting to feel a buzz.

"You never know. You're not from Stallion or Bay but you're still a noble, Seamus, you've probably had access to finer stuff than us simple knights. Even if free beer is the sweetest one of all," Lindsey told him with a gentle mocking expression and gave off another chuckle before taking another gulp from his mug. Once he had done that, he leaned forward at Seamus's question about their training, cupping the beer in his hands. "That's the long and the short of it. A full knight, most often from the local garrison, takes on a page boy to train up. Then, during the last year, they are sent to serve directly under the lord of the region, his Grace for us, since we were Konikers. Though in our case, Hector was originally going to be the knight. Except the man who picked him was..." Lindsey's eyes flickered away for a second. Hector, however, had by now recovered from his glassy-eyed, dreamy stare and straightened up, gesturing with his mug at his fellow knight. "It was Lindsey's father who trained us both up. He decided to take me on first before figuring he might as well train Lindsey as well. That was... thirteen years ago!" he grinned widely, not even noticing that he was shouting. "We were both overjoyed when it was finally over and we were knighted. Well, I was at least. It had been my dream since I was a kid. There was just something so... heroic about it." "Hector, indoor voice," Lindsey laughed at his friend's increasingly loud, drunken voice. The alcohol was catching up to them just as it was to Seamus. He gave a giggle at the growing brogue of the bookkeeper. "And you're beginning to talk funny." "But that's great! Wasn't it the whole point?" Hector grinned and swigged some more of his stout. He held his mug out to Seamus, swinging it back and forth slightly. "Ah, Isabelle won't mind, she's used to it and she's really, really tough. Much tougher than me," his wistful smile and glassy look returned but he shook his head and grinned at his two drinking buddies. "Come on over, we'll show you. As for Lindsey...Hey, Lindsey! When are we having a tournament next?!" "What?" Lindsey tilted his head. Despite Hector's loud voice, he had somehow gotten completely distracted. "Tournament?! When next? Will we have it before the Weapons Showing?" Hector called out to him. "Maybe, but just to be safe," Lindsey glanced at Seamus. "We'll be your performing monkeys at the Weapons Showing here next year, Seamus. If you want to see us fight so badly," he gave off a snort. "Why do you want us to fight? Is it so you can get Hector all by yourself? Duchess already has a claim to him." Hector frowned, unsure if Lindsey was making a joke or if he was moving beyond the slight buzz causing his laughter and into further drunken territory. Lindsey tells about the process of knight training, revealing some information about their backgrounds and how they met. Hector chimes in, picking up the story where Lindsey trails off and gets excited talking about his dreams. But the two knights are also beginning to feel the buzz. Nevertheless, Hector says that Seamus is welcome to come watch the sparring, which Lindsey sardonically confirms.
And Celes needs to write a Factbook-headcanon about Weapon Shows in Bern but all you need to know is that it happens once every two years, is an obligation by each local lord to show that they can levy men for war and involves a lot of tournaments, martial competitions and contests.

The bookkeeper listened with interest to Lindsey and Hetor's explanation of their training, but at Seamus' observation about his brogue he laughed and retorted. "Where Ah come from, it's ye twa who're talkin' funny!" When Lindsey joked about the bookkeeper being interested in Hector, Seamus blushed a little, not really drunk enough yet to laugh off Lindsey's comment. Despite his embarrassment he gamely retorted. "Hector is an attractive enough laddie, tae be sure, but Ah'd nae be takin' a pass at the Duchess' man. What makes ye so sure it's nae ye Ah'd be wantin' all tae myself? Yer cute enough, when ye smile a bit." The bookkeeper smirked at this remark, taking another swig of his ale. "Besides the appeal o' seein' twa muscular lads goin' at it, there's also curiosity. Ah like seein' 'n knowin' things. Or, to put it more plainly, Ah'm just a nosey idgit!" Seamus is a bit embarrassed by Lindsey's remark, but not so embarrassed he doesn't tease right back by flirting with Lindsey instead of Hector. = D

It was Lindsey's turn to blush at Seamus' comment but despite the redness spreading across his cheeks, he laughed and smacked the bookkeeper's shoulder gently. "Smart move. Aside from the fact that the Duchess would probably rip your beard off, Hector's not interested in men," he have off a giggle and held up his mug. "But me, I'm going to make you work for my smile. Though you're not too bad yourself, Seamus, in the cute, stuffed toy way." Hector's eyes lit up at the sight of the two and he reached over, ruffling both of their heads. "You would be so sweet together!!" he yelled, causing Lindsey to clumsily elbow him. "You don't have to announce it to the whole world, Hector. We're not even fully sober," Lindsey remarked, drowning the rest of his his drink. "But if you're so keen, I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to catch up when you're busy with the Duchess, won't we, Seamus?" "Maybe I should leave you now?" Hector pushed himself up but the other knight grabbed him. "As I said, plenty of time. Unless you're buying another round, you're staying right here with us," he turned to Seamus and laughed. "And now look, you've given him ideas." It was Hector's turn to laugh and he patted Lindsey on the back before giving Seamus a friendly smile. "You'd be welcome to come see us spar, however, always. The more, the MERRIER! Me and Lindsey will make arrangements!" "Though, unless the Duchess is also around, Hector will wear a shirt," Lindsey giggled. "Me, you'll have to butter me up first, Seamus, if you really want that." "I don't mind not wearing one either but it depends on the weather!" the other knight exclaimed, obliviously and drank the rest of his stout down before a sudden thought occured to him. "Actually, it probably isn't safe to not wear one during a spar." "There you go, words from an expert. Sorry, Seamus, but you'll have to be a nosy...whatever you called yourself in other ways," Lindsey glanced between the bookkeeper and Hector, noticing their mugs were getting low. He smirked, glancing down at the two. "I best buy another round, otherwise we'll sober up soon. Any preferences? Otherwise I've got some ideas." Lindsey flirts a little bit back with Seamus, causing Hector to suddenly 'ship it, rather loudly. They then joke about shirtless sparring, though how much Lindsey means it as a joke is unclear. Hector points out it's a safey hazard anyway. The other knight then notices they are getting low on drink and offers to buy another round.

Seamus laughed at Lindsey's none to sober return flirting, though at the description of himself as a "cute stuffed toy" he rolled his eyes and asked, "Lindsey Burns, what exactly are ye tryin' tae say?" But at Hector's rather loud proclamation that his friends would be "cute together" the bookkeeper went crimson and swiped a hand playfully over the big knight's head. "Nae so loud, ya idgit! Woo, Ah dinnea think they quite heard ye in Websteros but it was nae for lack of tryin'!" He drank more of his ale as Lindsey and Hector bantered back and forth. When they reached their verdict that there would be no shirtless sparring, the nobleman sighed. "Oh well, was worth a shot, eh? Least Ah can say Ah tried." He grinned at Lindsey and added, "'N Ah called myself an idgit. An id-ee-ot." He started to take another drink, but not very much came into his mouth- he'd reached the bottom of his mug. Seamus glowered at the empty vessel, and Lindsey offered to buy another round. Seamus waved a hand and grinned. "Go on 'n have yer fun, Ah know ye want tae. Ah fed ye 'n Hector that breakfast beer, ye should get a turn for shenanigans." He gave Hector a sidelong glance and grinned. "Maybe while yer doin' that I can get Sir Ladykiller here tae tell me the secrets tae makin' ye smile. He's known ye long enough I bet he has ways." Leaning towards Hector conspiratorially, but speaking in a perfectly audible- rather loud actually- voice, Seamus went on, "Tis magic, aye? Ye got some sort of spell on him. Dinnae worry, I will nae tell his grace." More brogue, more clumsy flirting of uncertain sincerity, and then Seamus jokingly asks Hector if he uses magic to get Lindsey to smile and like him. (And assures the Stallion knight that his treasonous magic use won't be reported to Alain.)

Hector whimpered and drew his head into his shoulders, avoiding the swipe that Seamus directed at him. However, his goofy grin remained. "Sorry! But you would be!" he cried. "I want my friends to be happy and if they are happy together, I would be happiest!" "Yes, yes, you big doofus, but that's up to us to decide," Lindsey smirked before turning back to the bookkeeper, "I meant exactly what I said, Seamus. Even if you are an...id-git, or whatever you called yourself, you should understand that. Since when I am not blunt with my words?" helaughed as he pulled himself up from his chair. He wobbled a little in the process but otherwise the dark-haired knight remained perfectly steady. "I'll get us drinks then. You two stay put," Lindsey rolled his eyes at Hector as Seamus leaned in closer to him. "And try not to spill all my secrets, I still want to remain a man of mystery," he giggled. "I won't, promise. My lips are sealed!" Hector put his finger over his mouth in order to emphasise the gesture but immediately after opened them to drain the last of his drink. "You go get us more." "Sure, sure," the other knight laughed. "I'll get you something good, you'll love this. Old Konik favourite," he winked and strode over to the bar. Hector's eyes glittered at the sound of that and he nodded eagerly as Lindsey walked away before looking back at Seamus with wide eyes. "Magic? I can't do magic. Grandpa could, maybe, I don't know, but I can't. So don't go spreading rumours around to his Grace!" He glanced around, looking terrified for a second as though searching for the Grand Duke in the crowd. However, after a short while, the red-haired knight relaxed and leaned back in his chair. "Ah, Lindsey's simple, really; you be nice to him, you treat him with respect, get him to trust you, he'll smile," he paused and pondered something, "Also strawberries. He really likes strawberries! Oh and cloudberries and lingonberries! Feed him berries you and he'll love you!!" "Oh, thanks for making me sound like an animal you feed and gain the loyalty of," Lindsey came back, rolling his eyes and snorting with laughter. Her was carrying a tray with several mugs, smaller than the beer mugs they had drank and giving off a sweet scent. "S'true though. Remember when you tried my mum's berry jam?" Hector grinned at him. Lindsey sighed and took one of the mugs from the tray, practically pushing it into Hector's hands. He put another one in front of Seamus and the last one on the table in front of his chair before sitting down himself. "I probably should not have gotten us this stuff then," the knight stroked the handle his cup and smirked at Hector. "It's mead. I found out since our incident here all those years back the innkeeper began to stock it straight from Konik. So this is the proper stuff. And for a little extra, I got him to throw some raspberries into the bottom of your cup," Lindsey then turned to Seamus. "And I did not know what you liked so I risked it and went for raspberries too." Hector's smile became mischievous. "And what did you get, Lindsey?!" "Don't deafen me!" Lindsey replied and sighed. "...cloudberries." Lindsey goes off to get drinks after some more teasing, leaving Hector to spill all of his secrets even though Hector says he won't. The ginger knight insists that he is not a mage, even if he has mage blood which I'm sure will never be significant, before revealing that Lindsey is a simple man with a love of berries. As if on cue, Lindsey comes back with mead which has berries in it and endures teasing from Hector for it.

Seamus tilted his head at the revelation that Hector’s grandfather had magic, but before he could ask about it the topic was switched to Lindsey and the shorter knight’s love of berries. He chuckled when Lindsey handed him the mug with the raspberries in it, giving the man a wink. “Ah like raspberries just fine, dinnae worry aboot it. For future reference, s’far as berries go, I like blackberries the best. Sumacs are good in drink too, if ye grind ‘em up intae a powder and sprinkle ‘em in.” He drank some of the mead and grinned. “‘S good, thank ye Lindsey. So, berries is it?” The bookkeeper smirked. “Ah shall have tae keep that in mind for the next time yer cross aboot somethin’. Does Konik have many berry farms then? I’d nae heard much aboot it except that it was a military outpost.” He sniggered suddenly, “Ah remember this one time, back home in Jennet, there were some berry bushes that had gone off a bit. A flock o’ birds was goin’ through the town, ‘n they stopped tae eat the berries. Ended up staggerin’ around the courtyard of Dun Manor, nae able tae get intae the air on account of bein’ drunk off the berries. M’ brother Theo ‘n I watched ‘em for a while, chasin’ off opportunistic cats. Was hilarious.” He took another sip of the mead, and added, “But if I try tae get Lindsey tae like me by feedin’ him berries all the time, he’ll nae be in shape tae be a knight anymore. I reckon yer Captain would be sore at me if that happened. Ah well, the old fashioned way it is.” He waggled his eyebrows. “Get me a few more o’ these and maybe I’ll serenade ye.” Random drunken tangents about berries, and more drunken flirting, though Seamus is not quite drunk enough yet for singing.

Lindsey grinned as he flopped down on his chair, his mug of mead sloshing over a bit in the process. His eyes widened and he carefully sucked the drops up from his hand where his fingers had caught the alcohol. Once he had done that though, he laughed and his grin became even broader. "So I wasn't completely on the mark. I'll get you blackberries next time. Sumacs though...I got no idea what those are." "They sound strange. Sumac...sumac...SUMAC!" Hector rolled the word around his mouth before shouting it out and smiling widely, giving off a laugh. "That sounds so weird. Like you're trying to swill a rock around your mouth!" "Yeah, it does. But it is much more productive, Hector, if you swill mead around," Lindsey took a sip of it and smiled. "It's good stuff. Definitely real," he glanced at Seamus and smirked. "Don't take advantage of the knowledge, you can't sweeten me up with berries." Hector, meanwhile, shook his head in response to the bookkeeper's question. "Konik is in the mountains. We only get mountain berries around there and they are not farmed, they have to be gathered. Then in winter they must be preserved," he picked up his mug and made a gesture akin to a toast. "Hence this. The mead does a good job of preserving the berries," glancing up at the drink, he smiled widely and then brought it forward. "So here's to Konik mead preserving the berry goodness!!!" "Yes, here's to it," Lindsey clinked his mug against Hector's with mock half-heartedness. The two knights then settled to listen to Seamus's story, and it did not take long for the dark-haired knight to burst out laughing, though it was accompanied by him pounding his fist on the table. Hector, however, stared with horror at the mention of cats. A small sob escaped from him. "Those poor birdies..." he whimpered. "Ah, they were fine. Seamus chased all the cats away, remember," Lindsey wiped a tear from his eye and patted Hector's shoulder. "No need to take everything so personally." "But...the birds..." Hector lowered his head and then took a sip of his drink, chugging down a raspberry with it. That, more than anything brought a smile back to his face. "Good on you for protecting the birds, Seamus." "Yes, that was truly the most heroic thing you could have possibly done," Lindsey remarked and then snorted when Seamus resumed to flirting. "I don't know, I would risk Captain Fyfe's wrath just to have you feed me berries while lying on your lap. But if there's a way to avoid that, I'll take it," he gestured at their glasses of mead. "You get a few more of those in you, Seamus, the night is still young. We might get a song out of you yet. Or you'll get one from us," he laughed and smirked slyly at Hector. "Say, you've not graced Seamus with your drunken singing..." "No, I haven't!" Hector took another swig of his mead and opened his mouth. O the summer time has come And the trees are sweetly bloomin' And wild mountain thyme-"We get the gist. Save some for later," Lindsey smirked, patting Hector on the shoulder. "Have another raspberry." The boys are amused by this strange 'sumac' Seamus speaks of before explaining about the mead preserving berries and having...differing reactions to the bird story. Then Lindsey awkwardly flirts with Seamus some more and Hector belts out the verse of a song. I think we'll be seeing the full thing by the end.

Seamus chortled. "Aye, I should add that tae my resume. Champion of migratin' birds. That'll impress prospective employers and prospective dates, aye?" He laughed again, taking a swig of his drink. "Always been more of a dog person myself- don't so much care for cats. Ye twa should come tae Dun Manor sometime, it's absolutely swarmin' with dogs, I'm serious they're everywhere. The old huntin' dogs that've retired get tae live in the lap of luxury with the family. I love dogs; some of 'em we've got are so big the little 'uns can actually ride 'em, but they're sweet as ever ye could wish." He tilted his head, his eyes sparkling suddenly. "Say, have either of ye ever been on a hunt? With hounds 'n falcons 'n horses, the whole bit? It's pretty major in House Dun's history and the regional export is furs so I grew up huntin', but I know it's nae so prominent here. Hector, ye'll probably get invited on some of Stallion's hunts, now that yer gonna be a member of the family- it's right fun, it is. Get away from everything 'n just enjoy the forest." He grinned broadly. "'N ye'd nae have tae get me sloshed if ye wanted singin', since we've all manner of traditional hunt songs I could share with ye." Seamus gets distracted talking about his favorite hobby besides math- hunting! <3 Which is very important culturally to the region he was born in.

Lindsey gave off a snort and smirked as he took another sip of his drink. "Big and sweet as anything, huh? That sounds familiar." "What do you mean?" Hector blinked, tilting his head at the other knight and giving him a curious, slightly confused look. "I bet if you went to Dun Manor, all the dogs would take to you immediately as one of their own, Hector," Lindsey aimed a feeble punch at his arm but missed, instead hitting the air a few inches behind the ginger knight. If he was aware of this, Lindsey did not really remark on it as he withdrew his hand and drank more of the mead. "Funny, I'm more of a cat man and yet here I am with you." "I'm not a dog," Hector frowned at this but then turned back to the bookkeeper, a huge smile forming on his face. "I do love dogs, and I would love to see where you live, Seamus! Dogs are great!" Hector shouted, completely oblivious to the implication of Lindsey's comments. "I've never been to Jennet either, but it has to be different from Konik, being by the sea and all. And I bet you don't have the thick walls or the fortress that Konik does either!" At Seamus's question about the hunt, however, Lindsey went quiet, leaning more heavily against the table and staring into his drink. "No. Hunting is for nobles, not city-dwellers like me," he laughed and grinned at the other knight, however. "But Sir Marrying-Into-The-Stallions here will fit right in. I can't believe the Duchess has never invited you on a hunt before, given how long you've known each other," another laugh came from his mouth. Hector sighed, taking a gulp of the mead. "She did...when we had that assignment to escort the merchants to the Langean border a month ago. So I couldn't go." "Ah, there will be other times," Lindsey reached over to pat his shoulder, this time succeeding in making a connection. "You say she likes falconry, right?" Hector nodded vigorously. "Yes, she does. She has a favourite gyrfalcon, and a horse called Stark, don't know about dogs," he frowned. "I don't really know much about hunting in general. At all. But if I'm going to be invited..." he smiled and raised his eyes eagerly up to Seamus, quietly begging him like a puppy would for a treat. Lindsey makes a comparison to Hector and dogs, which the ginger knight does not get at all. However, he is enthusiastic about going to see Dun Manor. However, the two knights have never been on hunts, and with Hector becoming part of a noble family soon, he is going to need lessons...

Seamus shook his head, and when he opened his mouth his accent was getting noticably thicker. “We’ve nae got walls aroond the town, nae. Tis tae small ‘n remote tae bother. But we do have a sea wall, aroond th’ port. ‘Twas build after a pirate raid in 1303, when Jennet was ransacked ‘n mah father murdered. Ye know, in the leadup tae that mess with Tobiano and the Barb Rebellion in 1305.” Finishing off his drink- and letting the berries roll over his tongue before plunking the mug down- he added, “But Ah’d be happy tae have ye both up at th’ manor sometime. Ah think you’d like mah brother, Theodore. He’s very easygoing, ‘n loves tae have a good time. Bit more aware of his noble status than me, but he does nae flaunt it tae much. ‘N ye could meet the hounds, ye’d love them!” He was quiet a bit, enjoying the fluffy cushion of euphoria that the alcohol had propped under his thoughts as Lindsey and Hector spoke. When Hector gave him a begging look, the nobleman chortled. “Well we cannae hae ye embarrassing yerself in front of th' duchess now can we? Lucky fur ye, th' Duns are master hunters, tis in th' blood. Ah will teach ye th' ways of th' mountains, 'n' ye kin impress everybody wi' whit ye know!” Seamus finishes his drink, and his brogue is getting worse. He talks a bit about Jennet, inviting both of the knights to come see it some time, and then he offers to teach Hector to hunt.

The two knights frowned and tried to listen closer to Seamus as he spoke, though in between his brogue, the fluff of alcohol on their brains and Lindsey giggling at the sounds that were coming out of the bookkeeper's mouth, it was growing more and more difficult. Hector glanced at him to try and see if he was having as much difficulty too and the other knight just gave him a grin and a shrug, followed by another burst of laughter. Nevertheless, the ginger knight did not miss Seamus's enthusiatic offer to teach him about hunting. He smiled widely and without even thinking, reached across the table to throw his arms around the bookkkeeper, wrapping him up in a bear hug. "Thank you, Seamus, thank you so much!! I would love that and I will tell Issie that you taught me to hunt if she asks because I would be really, really grateful!!" he shouted loudly, making several patrons cover their ears and glare at him. "Watch it, Hector!" Lindsey yelled, clutching the mug of mead he barely saved from being knocked over by the other knights body. "You could have spilled it over me, or worse, on the floor, you doofus!" "Sorry, Lindsey!" came the equally loud reply but the knight did not let go of Seamus. "I could come to your Manor and then maybe learn to hunt, it would be so much fun! I would love to meet your family and the hounds and everyone else!" "You're ridiculous!" Lindsey laughed and leaned over Hector, picking up the ginger knight's mug of mead while trapping him beneath so he could not move. "Drink up, you're the only one who isn't done." Hector smiled widely, taking the mead and drinking it in one gulp, swallowing up the raspberries along with it. Lindsey finished his too but he savoured the cloudberries at the bottom, closing his eyes and sighing as the alcohol soaked into them hit his brain. "Nothing like the Konik stuff," he smiled and then turned to the bookkeeper. "So where to next? I believe you had the pick of the place. Just...don't make it too far," he gestured lazily with his head at Hector still lolling about on the table, sipping up the last of his mead. "I don't know if he will be able to move far." "I can walk!" Hector shouted, slamming his mug down. "It's you who gets wobbly, Lin!" The two knight-bros have trouble with the brogue but Hector is overjoyed at being taught to hunt and hugs Seamus over the table, with the mead only being saved by Lindsey. They finish up and then ask Seamus where they are going next. The drunken shenanigans won't stop.
