Reaper turned her face away from the newcomers, otherwise holding perfectly still. She chuckled a little after Starla's speech, whispering back her response.
"You still don't understand that I'm not Kasi. If you feel your execution of the soul known as Kasi was just, why do you hide that you did it? Are not conquests over evil to be celebrated, hero? If no fault can be found in your decision, I will consider justice to have been upheld, and I will leave you alone until it is your time."
She turned again, partially facing the newcomers and speaking loud enough that they might hear.
"I can't trust the law enforcement in this city, but I'm sure you'll be fine."
She vanished, along with the chains and the trap encasing Starla.

Starla watched as Kasi vanished, and in response to the trap being freed, she swung her sword where Kasi was out of reflex. She blinked in surprise at the disappearance, pondering her words.
Starla: ...Until my time?
She grimaces.
Starla: Get back here, Kasi!
But inwardly, she knew that it was futile. She stood staring at the space until the police officer addressed her, telling her charges. Starla turned her head sharply, her sword still in front of her in defense.
Starla: No... No, I-I didn't... I didn't do anything wrong!

Starla takes a step back, lowering her sword but not putting it away.
Starla: I'm not going to attack you, I just... I can't go! She's going to be out there and I need to be around to stop her and I... I... Please. I can't go...

Starla hesitates, still taking steps back, but she puts her sword in her sheath. However, she still doesn't look to be giving in, and is looking terrified and tense.
Starla: I... I told you, I didn't do anything wrong. Please...

Starla shook her head, staring wide-eyed at the cuffs placed on her.
Starla: No... You don't understand. I can't go while there could be danger, I can't!

Starla: The other figure is Kasi; a form of her. She said she was here to take the city if...
She shook her head again, Kasi's words echoing in her head again.
Starla: ...I still have to stop her. I can help...

Starla: She told me so herself. But why put the town at more risk? If you take me, and something happens while I'm gone or someone dies... Then this is the real obstruction. Don't you see that?

Starla: ...You don't see, then. You don't see that lives are at stake. And no, I can walk, but please, you're making a mistake.

Starla begrudgingly walked.
Starla: I really mean it... (If I can't convince them... What then?)

An invisible presence followed them.

Starla doesn't say much as they draw near the precinct. But she does look over her shoulder on occasion, as it expecting something--or rather, someone. She remains worried, but she doesn't see anything out of the ordinary.
She didn't know that someone in the distance, taking residence in one of the alleyways, had spotted her, and had begun to follow them, sticking to hiding spots and the shadows as they did.

Starla was alone, pacing the length of her cell. Although it was night, and although she was sure that nothing would change until tomorrow, she couldn't sleep. With what she thought Kasi would do and the fact that she was placed in here in the first place despite the good she had done...
She grumbled as she looked at the mirror one one side of the wall of the prison, gazing at her reflection, and the reflection of the walls enclosing her. She was trapped... Again. She remembered all too well the way it pressed on her, how it always surrounded her, giving her nothing to see, nothing to do but pace the same parts of the room over and over again, waiting and waiting forever for a word that didn't come until much later. She didn't remember how much time passed then; it was all a blur to her.
But she wasn't entirely sure if that was due to being in the cell or other reasons. At least then, they had a good reason for imprisoning her; it was to keep her safe and unable to cause any harm to the outside world until her illness could be cured. Though she hated it, she could at least understand that.
This was entirely different.
Starla: (They're treating me like a criminal for trying to save lives. Even though the circumstances...) *She shook her head.* (No. It was still the right thing to do, even with all of that.)
Starla walked to the wall opposite of the mirror and sat down, staring into it with a grimace on her face.
Starla: (Meanwhile, she's still out there... Putting the whole town at risk, and just for me, trying to make it my fault... I have to stop this. However I can. And the others... They need to understand.)

Soft laughter echoed around Starla.
"You seem stressed, Starla. Maybe you'd like to take a trip down to the beach. I know a lovely, isolated one... too many rocks and weeds for most people, too steep of an incline into deep, deep water... who knew you and Kasi both liked whale watching?"

Starla looked around wildly, her hand reaching for her sword before she remembered that it wasn't there. She gritted her teeth as the voice went on.
Starla: "How are you... Get out of my head, Kasi!" (Not again...)

The voice giggled.
"I keep telling you I'm not Kasi, but you don't listen very well. Perhaps you'll listen to this: I'm not in your head. I'm in your room. Comfy, isn't it?
