Hey so I have been looking into the sims 4 (been a big sims kid since... well I was a kid playing sims 1) so below are a bunch of questions that I seem unable to find the answers to.
1.) Is it only for PC or can I get it for Mac also?
2.) Is this a download content only game or is there a physical disk with the game?
2.5) if this is download only, do they have a plan for people who get new computers or do you have to repurchase the game? I am fairly certain Minecraft is a download computer game but you have a user name and password so I think you purchase it through your user and then have as many downloads as you want.
3) In the sims 3 I know it was open world play, but could you create this world from scratch like in sims 2 (so have a world called Los Angeles and another world/town called New York City?) or do you get only the world that they provide you. I owned sims 3 but haven't played since entering college three years ago because I was a strict little freshmen who said no games, study only, and totally regretting that decision now.
Probably more questions to come as I watch really cool youtube videos. I am thinking of asking for this game for christmas...

Last I checked, Sims 4 is only available for PC. I dunno if they ever plan to change that. Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen physical copies of the game at the store? But I'm not 100% sure if they were CDs or download cards in fancy packaging. XD;

UUUgh nooo! Why do they forget about MAC!!!
I know it isn't an open world gameplay anymore but do other houses still age while you play other houses? For example, if I had John Doe and was playing John Doe would Jane Doe in another household still age?
I"m also looking into repurchasing Sims 3 (I lost my disk when my family moved). That I know is a disk and that I know is for Mac, now I can't find it on the sims store now...

UUUgh nooo! Why do they forget about MAC!!! I feel your pain, I've been using Mac for years and only recently started using Windows :'B (Boot Camp to be specific, lol) I don't know much about Sims 4 gameplay since I don't have it, but if it's anything like Sims 2, aging will only apply to the household you're currently playing. But don't quote me on that because again, I dunno XD;

But again, at the end of the day there isn't a Sims 4 for Mac and I don't have the funds to buy a new computer right now. I've debated about buying a gaming windows in my future but that is within 1-2 years when/if I have that sort of spending cash. I found a Sims 3 disk that seemed reasonable at Best Buy. Its for Mac/Windows and it included Sims 3 and Sims 3 University Life Expansion Pack for $20. It seems to good to be true but I think tomorrow I will go down to the store and look into it. $20 is an expensive impulse buy for a college student but I worked a lot over the summer so I have the money.

Thank you that just confirmed my decision. I am not buying sims 4 (even if it had been for mac) until they address some of this missing content. No toddlers? that makes no sense! That is a major digression in the game. I understand cutting open world and stuff seeing as a lot of people (except for me) do not like it but still toddlers!!! Also you can only generate flat structures? That is another digression. What did they trade all this content for? Better graphics? the graphics were already pretty good. Perhaps they traded it for the new "walking styles" and "Create a sim" but nothing was wrong with what they had in the first place in Sims 3. This blows my mind. Sorry for ranting.

According to this developer interview, The game's engine isn't built to support things like digging into ground or Sims easily moving up and down within it. Why they would get a new engine that's inferior to the old ones is baffling, but then again, this is EA we're talking about. They let drunken monkeys program their games. :P Here's their answer: www.thesims.com/news/whats-out-and-whats-in

Just add you favorite room, but that takes a lot of the creativity out of the game.

That's 'cause it's not really an upgrade, but of course EA is going to talk it up like it's made of pixie dust and diamonds, they want you to buy it. XD

I haven't got around playing it myself, but I watched this video and it seems to sum the ups and downs quite nicely. I'm very fond of Lazy Game Reviews - he's rather snarky at times but that's his style, I guess. And it's good that he's very sincere.

Dju ya i watched that one. I ended up buying sims 3 again. I forgot out glitchy the game was but it runs on my laptop fine with exception to my fans greatly disliking it. That is fixed however by keeping it in a cold environment. They do need to fix a lot of these things those with sims 4. I'm still upset that you can't have pools, toddlers, or terrain tools.
