For a graphic design class, our final project is creating a professional portfolio. Of the required items, we need to design a logo for ourselves, so I decided to use my Internet name to make this: We also get to make two items of our choosing, so for my first piece, I created a book cover for a years-old story idea of mine. I had originally colored it in full, but while playing with layers, I masked the base colors and ended up with this. I decided I liked this better, so I made it the final product

Question: Is my computer just acting up, or are all of my pictures not showing up due to "incorrect linking"? Does anyone still see the actual pictures, or is Photobucket having issues? X)

I have the same problem Twillie, on both your images, and my own. I earlier checked on the Neoboards, and others have had the same problem. I can only hope it's Photobucket's problem, and will be fixed.

Photobucket's pictures have been fixed! I was worried too, because they were all buggy last night, but it seems like all links are working properly again! ^.^

Today, I decided to take up an art request on a usermade art agency, so I drew understanding_free's transparent Aisha, Tryha:

Sort of similar to Ginz ❤ , I've been experimenting with lineless art using my best model, Zathandria :3 This is probably the most I've done with this style of art, and I'm really proud with how it turned out for my first time. I plan on putting a background in later, but for now I'm going to leave it like this as there are other projects to get to.

I'm glad you tagged me, because I got to see this right away. XD
She looks awesome! =D I think your experiment was a huge success! I like how the lineless style gives it a softer look, it looks very smooth. She seems like a very cool character (I love her hair!)

Thanks Yeah, this method definitely encouraged plenty of shading (another thing I need to practice more of), so there's a lot more color blending and smooth lines Haha, thanks, her hair is so fun to draw (but I just love making hair in general) Makes one wonder how she ties it all up in the bun she usually sports XP

So, this is inspired by Zoey's picture of Jonathon. It's a quick sketch comic that I made for an idea that popped into my head today, and I couldn't not do it X)

Q.Q Thank you so much, Twillie, I SO LOVE IT and Jonathan is absolutely ADORABLE as always! I also especially love how he looks almost exactly like the portrait in some of the panels. XD JONATHAN BLUSHING IS LIFE.

I plan on putting a background in later, but for now I'm going to leave it like this as there are other projects to get to. I added a background! Now, here is where I may benefit from a little critique. I'm wondering if the background works well, or if it's too empty. I considered adding a palm tree, and I may if it turns out the picture looks barren, but I also sort of like the isolated feeling. For me, the beach is best when I'm alone and it's quiet, and this picture seems to emulate that. But then I also wonder about the contrast and if I need some more dark colors or not. If that's the case, then the emptiness may be hurting the picture, but I just don't know. If you have any opinions on that or something else, I'd appreciate any tips or thoughts :3 EDIT: Updated the picture with (hopefully) better sand, and I also added some grass

Hm, as I was scrolling down, I thought the sky was a perfect background. But then the beach didn't seem to match. So I think maybe a little more texture on the beach might be what you're looking for. Like maybe the divots you see in sand, you know how they make like little waves, and the waves have shadows, or how the sand is darker when a wave has just washed over it, or maybe some seashells even. I don't think you want to go overboard, just enough to match the tophalf of the piece.

June Scarlet Ah, I see what you mean! That's actually supposed to be a sandy hill that overlooks the ocean rather than the beach leading into it, so I think I may also minimize the white space between sand and water. Yeah, the sand grains all seem to be going in one direction, so I'll look into more texture/shading an highlights. Thank you!
