There was once a cruel demigoddess who ruled over the Lost Desert even before Razul. Under her rule, Sakhmet and Qasala would be denied water if they committed any offense against her name. Now, the rivers of the Desert have dried once again. She has returned, and it's up to a ragtag bunch of thieves and warriors to stop her...
The Rules: You are only allowed one character, period.
Reserved characters: Sirocco (Fang of the Dead): A Zafara thief who has control over the Sands of Time, Sirocco's taken it upon himself to find out what happened to the Great River. Bast (Dju): An evil Xweetok demigoddess, this winged Desert Xwee has a cruel sense of humor. It's rumored she's part of the same demigod pantheon the Bringer of Night came from.

((Just a question: if my character is Saeryennan, can she interact with Xandra and her parents in the introductory post? They'll never be mentioned again.))

((Thanks!))
In the Palace of Altador, a young Cybunny of fourteen was running.
It was night, and the stars were out, yet the atmosphere inside the palace was anything but the reflection of the quiet sky.
"Saeryennan! Wait!" a woman's voice called. The Cybunny princess did not answer. She instead kept running away from the sound of her mother.
"Kalara! I'll handle this!" another woman cried out. Upon hearing the new voice, Saeryennan ran as fast she could, her elegant green dress and shoulder-length light brown hair flowing behind her.
Saeryennan's blue eyes fixed upon the window at the end of the hall. It was closed, but she could open it.
"Saeryennan!" the second voice screamed. "You must come back! I won't let you run away!"
A bolt of magical energy whizzed past the golden crown on the Royal Cybunny's head. She recognized it. Icy blue; it was a spell to stop someone in their tracks. Well, Saeryennan wasn't going to let herself get hit by her aunt's magic.
"Saeryennan!" both voices cried out.
She began to twirl the lever that opened the window. It was done. She had to go - now.
As quickly as she could, the Princess of Altador, the only child of King Altador and Queen Kalara, pulled herself to the window ledge and leapt down. It was a short leap as she had luckily made it to the first floor before her guardian Faerie had discovered she was missing and alerted Kalara and Xandra, the Queen's younger sister.
As she ran quickly to the mountains that bordered Altador and the Lost Desert, she remembered her vivid dream. In it, a winged Desert Xweetok had been attacking the desert. The princess had the gift of prophecy and knew she was meant to be there, but her guardian Faerie, Nyvenne, had told her not to go. She had apparently foreseen something happen as well.
Saeryennan wasn't having any of that. As she screamed in the joy of her freedom, she didn't notice the sad, shocked faces of a Green Wocky and Speckled Xweetok standing at the window.
She was free...

((Whohoooo! <3))
A lonely temple sat on top of the Great River. Unlike most pyramid-like buildings in the Lost Desert, this one looked more like a palace. Long abandoned and forgotten, the sand and wind went about it's work and made sure that its features and inscriptions were erased, but one in particular remained right above the entrance; "Thirst for power", it said.
The locals called it the "Two Headed Temple" because of the gigantic mauket heads placed on it. The water would go into one feline mouth at one side of the palace and exit through another, allowing weeds and roots to make way into the abandoned shrine. But today, a single drop of water escaped its course inside that mannor. It slided down the collumns and the walls, dodging all obstacles in its way until it fell right on top of a statue. It went down the figure's face like a tear and suddenly, dropped into its mouth. With a greedy and long gasp, the statue came to life.
The first mauket head remained with its mouth wide open, letting in all the river. But the second one closed shut tight, not a single drop would escape from its sharp teeth.

Sirocco, ever the opportunist, was attempting to plunder the Two-Headed Temple. After checking to make sure no rival thieves (or other factions) were following him, he climbed into a hole in the temple's wall. "All right, Sirocco. You have to be careful in here. You never know what kind of traps-" Right as Sirocco said this, a spike pit opened up beneath him. Before he fell, he scattered the Sands of Time from a pouch on his belt, allowing him to slow down time and make his way to the other side. "Well, that was a close one." He smirked, and continued on in the temple.

"It's...beautiful..."
The little princess stared in awe at the magnificent Lost Desert. She, for one, had to wonder why it was still called the "Lost" Desert when it had so clearly been found.
She held on to her knapsack full of food and drink purchased from the Exquisite Ambrosia shop and headed towards Sahkmet. She didn't know where the winged Xweetok was, but she was determined to find the creature before it could attack.
Then she it. Wow, it was beautiful.
The temple had two Mauket heads on it. One seemed to be swallowing water, and the other was...closed.
That was strange.
It was eating all the water. It was eating...
"No!" the princess cried and ran straight into the temple. In her haste, she bumped, quite by accident, into a Zafara, knocking both of them over.
"Oh!" she said. "I'm sorry..."

"Could you watch where you're going, kid?" Sirocco didn't recognize the princess - he'd never met anyone from the Altadorian royal family aside from King Altador and Xandra.

Hekhmet fell on her knees - all those years imprisoned in stone had left her exhausted. Her fingers were long and bony, her entire figure looked feeble and fragile and her korbat-like wings seemed uglier and heavier than usual. She kept staring at the floor and breathing heavily until a faint dripping noise caught her attention.
Water. Hekhmet observed as it slowly filled her abandoned palace. The water captured from the river followed diverse and organised paths, filling columns, cutting through the dust, creating small cascades and restoring a bit of the temple's former glory. The ill looking xweetok crawled to a pool near by and drank from it. Her long hair shone a little brighter, her fur seemed glossier and the wings recovered their strenght. After a long sigh, she allowed herself to smile.

"Could you watch where you're going, kid?" the Zafara said.
She didn't recognize him.
Still, how dare he talk that way to a princess!
"Excuse me?!" she snapped. "I happen to have been summoned here by fate! I'm sorry for bumping into you and all, but I'm not a 'kid'! I'm the Princess of Altador, Saeryennan!"

"Wait... Altador has a princess? The only thing I knew is that he had a sister-in-law who kinda, well..." Sirocco sighed. "Well, she was a friend of mine, but then she crashed Faerieland into the ground and we haven't seen each other that much. 'Cuz, yannow, her brother-in-law's trying to keep her safe from anyone who'd try and avenge Faerieland, and she needs some time to sort out her issues."

Hekhmet stretched over her throne like a cat. Two statues shaped like beastial maukets lay before her, watching the throne room as if unaware that their time has gone by. The throne room was filled with pools and vines, the crack in the ceiling allowed sunlight to bathe them - it felt like an abandoned oasis.
"They have forgotten me," Hekhmet concluded, her voice echoed throughout the room. She raised from her dusty throne and touched her stone beasts "after all those years of loyal and organised service- they have abandoned me."
With a long sigh, Hekhmet raised her arm and closed her eyes. The entire temple shook and from it's dark windows, thousands of selkets emerged. They flew fast like bees and buzzed twice as loud, there were so many of them that the sky turned dark outside, craving for attention and sunlight.
"Finally, that silence was killing me" Hekhmet sunk into her throne again with a content smile.

((Sorry for the delay, I was kind of waiting on Fang's road trip))
He knew Xandra??
"You know Xandra?" Saeryennan asked. "That's my aunt! So - you know what happened to her, and how she came to hate Faeries?"

"Well, yeah." He thought to himself - as the Thief of Time, he knew his Xandra was probably not this timeline's Xandra. "Did an evil Dark Faerie kill Xandra's family here, too?" As far as he knew, his timline's Xandra was unfortunately still unstable and kept in the custody of the Faerie Queen, even though Jennumara hadn't been brought to justice.
(oh god Sirocco's becoming Thief Who isn't he)
