You know how they like to have events when they update maps from flash to html5? I wonder what sort of world-wide event would happen when they update the planet of Neopia.

(While posting on the Neoboards remembers his NeoSignature has "#ForTNT" as a part of it) Hmm, it's been a while since I checked out Snarkie's site, wonder if she posted anything interesting about Neopets. Let's see... NeoTalesThis looked like it was a promising start to a fun series of articles. Snarkie was being asked to tell more about her experience on Neopets and, after releasing a survey on what topics she should write about, got to work on an article about the process of creating a plot. She also told us how she had a lot of jobs at Neopets, both officially and unofficially (and may have planned on writing an article about that if enough people asked). WELL, that was made in April 30th of last year and, though she has made another article and answered a few questions, looks like this may have fallen to the wayside. Oh well, at least we got an image of the back of a shirtless Sloth: (This looks like something that'll be in a Sloth romance novel, Fifty Shades of Green) Neopets On-The-GoThis... this makes me cry... THIS LOOKS SO GOOD!AND IT WAS 97% COMPLETE WHEN THEY CANCELLED IT!(And apparently JS cancelled it to instead release Ghoul Catchers... you're just full of disappointments, aren't you JS?) And what they had planned for the mascot, B.L.I.P, was adorable! (#JusticeForB.L.I.P.) That said, Snarkie mentions if they were to do it now they would do things completely differently, this was just meant to tie us over for a Mobile Friendly version of the site. BTW, remember to check each image as Snarkie added additional captions to them, mostly detailing what the image was about but she does add some humor to it. Also read the comments as Snarkie answered a question there concerning how many TNT members were there! It's both surprising... and gets sad when we get into the JS sale. *heavy sigh* AMAJust some quick questions Snarkie answered and some are interesting like: - Princess Sallix from Treasure Keepers would have been revealed to be an Alien Aisha as part of a story.
- Petpet Park originally was part of Neopia and was sort of a Toy Story situation: no one would know Petpets were actual conscious beings except a few Neopets who were shopkeeper NPCs. However things got difficult when trying to write quests (and how come only a handful of Neopians know? And why did no one say anything and how would this change Neopia?) so they decided to make it a separate dimension (replacing the Neopet NPCs with Petpets), specifically re-using Petaria which was in the Wand of Wishing game. This made things much easier as it meant what happens on Neopets didn't effect Petpet Park and vice versa (plus they didn't need to get approval to do something from two teams). To promote it on the site they made the PPL have a secret agent branch who knew about and protected the existence of Petpet Park and any Petpet crossing over from it. At one point it was completely unrelated to Neopets but at that early point Snarkie insisted on making a deeper lore for it which I guess then go it connected to Neopets. Also unofficial lore said that the Petpet's intelligence was affected when crossing the dimension portal, they would get smarter going to Petpet Park but revert to being more animalistic going to Neopia.
- The Rubbish Dump Avatar may require you to discard a certain number of items which Est. Value is under 100 NP. Mr. Insane is pretty sure he implemented the Avatar.
- Gives some tips about how one could use fanwork as part of their portfolio.
- She likes mac & cheese.

Someone mention Sallix to Herdy. Pretty sure she's still listed as Unknown Species, and this is probably as close to Word of God that we're gonna get.

The more I hear about the mobile app that old TNT were developing, the sadder I become. I only knew from the reddit AMA that it was nearly completed before JS had it canned, but I hadn't known how GOOD it was until I read this article. *WHY* exactly did JS cancel this project??? I mean, it couldn't have been shelved for later if they didn't want to release it yet? It's not like Ghoul Catchers was a replacement for this - they're both unrelated, aside from both being apps. Considering JS likes to use old assets, I wonder if their upcoming mobile app (or mobile-friendly site? I keep hearing both or whatever, so I'm not sure anymore, haha) will use some of the work from this... Anyway, I hope Snarkie writes more (as I love learning more about the behind-the-scenes workings of Neopets, as well as her brand of humor), but I'm sure writing these can be a rather large undertaking, and she's probably not *quite* as invested in Neopets as before. Still, she's teased on her Twitter that she'd been working on that plot article, and I've been waiting a long time for that, since her tweet had revealed it to be about The Faeries' Ruin. Edit: Well, okay, the tweet in question is even earlier than this article, but I doubt she'll forget about all that work already finished, especially since she still remembered the requests for it two years later.

Normally, this would just be a silly random event, but considering my area is being affected by the polar vortex... |D

It's nice to know, but Snarkie's not staff any longer so nothing she says is official. I don't see how that applies to this situation. She worked on the game, a game that's now defunct, so not only is she a reliable source for the original plan for the character but it's not like JS has different plans for the character's story in that game. Even if you don't want to officially classify her as an Alien Aisha, you can still mention her Trivia section the original plan for her and she hid her extra ears in her hair.

Because she's a character still technically owned and usable by the current TNT. They have all the assets from Treasure Keepers and have full rights to use those characters again if the mood takes them. They may decide to take Sallix in a completely different direction at some point in the future. I've always operated the Book of Ages with clear red lines I won't cross, and they've become particularly important since JS have started relying on it. We saw a few years ago the way I worded an entry was enough for them to think two completely different characters were members of the same family. Adding in her species, even as an apocryphal note, would effectively be deciding canon at this stage.

I'm actually really glad to hear this! :3 This week's Editorial was an improvement, so I hope this collaboration can continue more often, especially if it means the NT can come out on time. Also, DJ Skellington's answer felt so very much like old TNT, I'm kind of tearing up a little. T-T It was such a welcome addition, and I enjoyed it very much (especially once I got to the Gandalf part, lol). I don't know, I keep feeling almost disbelieving when I see that a few members of the old team are still here, but the trademark sense of humor has finally convinced me that it's true. :') Regarding the Pretty Fish Bowl: Wait, what? No! I wanted one too! *checks JN's Item Database* Ugh...r95...

From the News today:
... I don't quite get it. Are they asking us if we prefer our Aishas standing or not? Are they asking us if we want to bring unconverteds back? I'm not sure what they're asking for here, so I'm not sure how to vote. Anyone have any ideas?

The Book of Ages follows the JumpStart fork in Neopets canon. As a devout follower of TNT, I can say with extreme bias that Snarkie's word is the true canon.
As for the poll, super interested in what this means. Fyora willing it will be something that unconverts 'pets to finally put that issue to bed. The wording makes me think they are asking if we prefer anthro to non-anthro 'pets, though. Why they want to know that, I have no idea. Does it mean our 'pets, or site characters, etc? Changing the way they stand for customization would lessen the workload for drawing wearables in the future, but the backlog of work to change all the old clothing would take forever to redraw.
It feels like they kept this question intentionally vague...

No idea myself what this poll could be leading to, and honestly I'm kinda hesitant to vote one way or another with the ambiguity x3 No idea what I'm voting on or what my vote would be going towards, and I'd rather not take a shot in the dark when it relates to, supposedly, pet appearances.
