So I was bored the other day and made up a list of all my major villain characters in order of how powerful I figured they were. In doing this, I ended up picturing them battling each other based on their placement on the chart, like some sort of weird villain tournament. It didn't take long for me to want to write some short scenes based on this concept.
I can't post all of the scenarios because some of them involve spoilers for stories I haven't finished, but I figured I might as well post the ones I can for you all to enjoy. This is pretty much going to be a mishmash of every story I've ever written, so don't be surprised if some weird crossovers ensue.
Kindleflare vs. Princess Rose
Context: Kindleflare is from an old NTWF story of mine (here), though is better known these days as my snarkface character over at the Taco. Princess Rose is from my old NT series (here and here) that I'll hopefully be continuing in the relatively near future. Anyway, this scene references all the things I linked, so spoilers if you have any desire to read back that far. XD;

The first contestant was a woman in her mid-twenties with dark green hair, plus the wings and antennae of a flying ant. In her hand was a leather whip, and on her face was a cocky, confident smirk. She was confident in her ability to win this match. Her name was Kindleflare.
Her opponent was a four-eared, bipedal feline, standing at about four feet tall. She wore an elegant, regal gown, and had a cold, commandeering scowl on her face—she was a princess. Perhaps most notably, however, was the dagger in her hand, adorned with brilliant red rubies, and giving off a sinister aura of its own. This woman's name was Princess Rose Daggerking.
"So you're the infamous Princess Rose, huh?" Kindleflare taunted, holding her whip at the ready.
"That is correct," Princess Rose responded. "And whoever are you supposed to be?"
"The name's Kindleflare. Most call me Kindle," was the response. "PFA thinks I'm the weaker villain, but I say she's dead wrong."
Princess Rose snorted at the assertion. "No mere peasant can stand against the Daggerking royal family."
"Peasant? I'm no peasant," Kindleflare told her. "And I'll prove it. Bring it on."
"Suit yourself," Princess Rose replied, brushing some of her long red hair out of her face. "But you're only going to lose."
With that, Princess Rose held up her dagger, pointing it toward Kindleflare. The dagger radiated a magical aura, before firing off a beam of Dark magic. Kindleflare pivoted out of the way, lashing at the princess with her whip. Princess Rose hastily sidestepped, then charged at her opponent, dagger at the ready.
"You're not as strong as you think you are, are you?" Kindleflare sneered, leaping out of the way of the princess' attack. "You just have a bunch of guards to hide behind. A magic dagger that gives you magic powers. But you? You're powerless. Weak."
"Silence!" Princess Rose hissed, trying to stab at Kindleflare. "You don't know what you're talking about!"
"Oh, but I do. I know more about you than you think," Kindleflare told her, continuing to dodge the oncoming attacks. "We're actually similar in a lot of ways. Both of us rule with an iron fist. Both do whatever it takes to keep order, even if it involves death, right? But you see, I killed a phoenix once. You can't even kill a tiny little baby."
Princess Rose was taken aback by this. "Wha— how do you know about that?!"
"Like I said, I know more about you than you think." Kindleflare smirked, taking advantage of the distraction to step back and lash at the princess with her whip again.
"Agh!" The whip snapped right across Princess Rose's wrist, causing the dagger to fly out of her hand. Before she could retrieve it, Kindleflare kicked her over, knocking her to the ground. "Oof! How dare you—!"
"You don't know what it's like to earn your place, Princess," Kindleflare told her, placing her boot on Princess Rose's chest to prevent her from getting up. "You were born to be a queen, but me? I had to earn it. I fought my way into authority. And they fought back, but so what? I'll earn my place again. Because I can adapt. Because I'm strong."
"You— ngh!" Princess Rose grunted, struggling to get out from under Kindleflare. "You cannot be that strong if they defeated you. I may not have defeated the Indera yet, but the Daggerking royal family lives on!"
"And what happens if you lose? If all your power, wealth, and authority goes away?" Kindleflare asked.
"I will not lose!" Princess Rose protested. "The Indera will die!"
"That's the thing, though. For you, losing is the end," Kindleflare pointed out. "Once you lose, you lose everything. Because without all your guards and magic daggers, you're powerless. Weak."
"That's not true!" Princess Rose snarled, swiping furiously at Kindleflare's leg. "Get off of me!"
"Are you sure? Because here you are all by your little lonesome, and you can't do anything. You're trapped." Kindeflare sneered down at the princess. "I gained the upper hand because I know how to take down everything that matters. I know how to fight my way to the top. And that..." She picked up her foot, kicking Princess Rose away. "...Is why I'm the better villain."
"Oof! Rngh..." Princess Rose fumed, dusting herself off and climbing to her feet. "You insolent fool! How dare you treat a princess that way!"
Kindleflare ignored her, simply turning and walking out of the arena with a dismissive hand wave. "And don't forget it."
"HEY! Where do you think you're going?!" Princess Rose shouted after her. "I'm not done with you! Get back here!"
But the cries went unheeded. Within moments, Kindleflare was gone from sight, leaving Princess Rose to stew in her own rage.
