*gets out the pompoms and cheers Surfersquid on* Whoo, thanks! :3 I'm at 538 words now. Trying to figure out how I want to move forward with this plot since I don't have an outline of what's going to directly happen next, just some scattered and general notes from character designs. But hey, winging it hasn't failed me yet!... maybe.

I need to write, I'm falling behind on NaNo. But, I think I'm sick, and all I want to do is sleep. XP

I need to write, I'm falling behind on NaNo. But, I think I'm sick, and all I want to do is sleep. XP You should probably get some rest, then. It's more important to take care of yourself. And you can always make up for the days you missed on days when you're feeling more productive.

I might do that. I tried to do a synopsis of what needs to happen still, and despite being at it for the better part of an hour, I've only 133 words. Mostly because I keep staring off into space and forgetting what I'm doing.

Kristykimmy - Yeah, that's usually a sign you need a break. Doubly so if you're not feeling well.

Okay, I'm gonna write a story about Hunter and Miraja that's all about them being "friends" and having a nice day out in the marketplace. I gotta try to be subtle about the pairing, so...

Well, I've had a hard time meeting my quota the last few days, but that's mostly because I've been ill and the quota is not supposed to be a hard-and-fast goal, just a number for me to work toward on days when I feel like getting some writing done. I've also gotten a grand total of three agent rejection letters! Hooray! As a "good job for trying" incentive, I'm going to buy myself a Neopets TCG booster for every rejection letter I get. I seem to work well when there's bribery involved. On the writing scene, I've been hard at work crafting a pivotal scene involving mostly my characters in the RP for The Bidelek Trail, so that's been fun. I also wrote a bit more in Ad Infinitum, although before I go any further on that I want to finish my submission for the Prompt-of-the-Week Club thread that I just started on this board. If any of you are interested in that, check it out! I'm hoping it'll be a lot of fun for people.

Done, done, done, done, done! Just finished this month's 50k of CampNaNo. Now all I have to do is continue writing so that I can eventually say that I'm also done with the story. XD

Chao - Congrats on finishing CampNaNo! That must have been a lot of work. I spent most of my day doing some intennnssseee RPing with my co-author for The Bidelek Trail. @_@ But we got a lot of crucial plot stuff covered so I'm happy about that. I'm also hoping we'll switch back to the other group of characters soon because I'm starting to get burnt out on/running out of ideas for the group I'm currently mostly in charge of writing. <.< Safe to say I definitely fulfilled my quota for the day. I also finished my Prompt-of-the-Week submission, so I'm very pleased about that. It's suitably creepy and bizarre. Unless you think spiders are adorable, which I do.

I'm going to finish this story tonight, so help me. You heard it all right here, this story will be done before I go to bed even if it takes me all night!

Whoo, you can do it!
I've done a bunch of writing since I last checked in here. I did two more submissions for Prompt-of-the-Week, both of which are considerably longer than my first (one is 1800 words, one is 3500 and I wrote it all in one day and was exhausted but it was so worth it because I love these characters argh). My co-author and I haven't done much RPing for The Bidelek Trail because she just went on vacation, but we finally switched away from a setting I'm mostly in charge of so I'm more than ready to kick back and let her take the plot wheel for a bit. xD
I can't remember if I got anything done on Ad Infinitum since I last checked in... I've finally gotten to a part I want to write about but can't quite get myself to be motivated about it. I reviewed and made some minor edits to stuff I've written recently for it but haven't had the energy to move forward in the plot any. Also, school starts in a week and a half so that will probably cut down on my writing stamina a fair bit.

Well, I finished it and in the appointed time. It is far from perfect but hey, it's out there and I could always edit it. ^^ Now I'm torn between what to write next. I have two ideas and all are ones which I would like to write down and know vaguely what will happen. I just suck at making a decision.
First one is a short, sweet piece of two of my characters' first dance since they got together. It won't take too long, which is nice since I just got out of writing a pretty big story, and it is a nice highlight of character development. On the other hand, it could get sappy and nobody except me really wants to read it.
Second one is a heartbreaking story which I know my friend would really like. However it would take longer and would be more difficult for me emotionally, plus I've not worked out all the kinks out of the plot just yet.
So, in short, fluff or angst? What should I write first and what should be put on the back burner?

I say go for the first one. Yes, it's sappy, and yes, it would most likely be embarrassing to show other people, but it sounds like you need a break from writing heavier stuff, and that would do the trick nicely. Besides, I think it's generally a good idea to vary the moods in what you're writing so you don't suffer some sort of emotional burnout. I'm sure your friend won't mind the wait.
I wrote about 1300 words for Ad Infinitum last night, what a rush. I'm writing from the point of view of one of the antagonists now and it's a lot of fun, especially because he's not a "rawr evil" big-baddie, just a troubled teenager who's confused about life, himself, and his superpowers and egotistical sapient giant robot... wow, my plot is weird. At any rate, I stopped right at the point where he's about to meet the main protagonist off the battlefield for the first time and I'm still trying to piece together in my head how that's going to go. I'm worried that I'm skewing this plot more toward character interaction and less toward giant robots beating each other up, and it's hard to strike a nice balance for that, because I'm personally more interested in the effects of these characters' interactions with each other and exchange of ideals, but I'd feel guilty writing a novel with a premise revolving around giant robot fights that fails to deliver on that front.
