I'm not spamming. I'm just finishing up a lot of old stuff when I really should be working on visual art. ._., "Morning Chill"A little bit of soft sad stuff. A little bit of Final-Fantasy-I-intro-esque harp. Arpeggios are awesome. Let's skip forward to just after the Duskwell stuff happens. They get back from their second-last excursion (the one where the Wraiths come out and Izyl's leg is horribly maimed in a G-rated sense). Looks like the town has been ransacked or something, so they have a funeral for everyone. Then, Ganelo has an epiphany and starts running for home. One brief chat later, we get Final Flight.

A friend had casually mentioned copyright and such the other week in regards to his own music, and I got paranoid. ._., Glad to hear you like it, though.

"Fragment One"Yeah, we're getting towards the end now, complete with key change. But nope, Fragment Zero will be coming and it'll be some sort of electro/jazz/swing thing, methinks. Which will be kind of weird, but fun to compose. As for this one, though: my dad raised me on some classic rock, and I wanted a way to bring some of that into the mix. Unfortunately, it's rather difficult to make soundfont guitars sound good, so this lacks a shredding solo, but I think it's a half-decent classic-rock-inspired new-wave-electronic synth composition. Talkie, believe it or not, was once a somewhat more agreeable Blue Xweetok from the Pound, in charge of much of the tech (working closely alongside Coaster), navigation, and the like (kind of like Tails with less optimism). Although he tended to be the victim of most of the jokes and was a bit abject about it all, he generally worked well with the team. This incident accounted for much (but not all) of the complete flip in his personality, which was eventually mirrored by his lab-induced transformation into a Halloween Yurble. (but let's not completely give up hope yet) As I have it written in my brain at the moment (subject to change), Loange is in a bit of a bind, since all of Garoo's forces are out looking for Gorix and Scout (well, Cylara) and she doesn't exactly want to risk a meeting. When she finds a safe spot to hide, she makes a risky attempt to contact Kougo (the Robot Kougra) and Talkie, who are still on the ship in the hangar. Talkie recommends looking at the system to see if they can throw the guards off Coaster, Loange, and their target by setting off more alarms, interrupting the guards' radios, or else calling off the mission if it becomes unsalvageable. When it proves the danger is too urgent for tech support to help out, Kougo (with a reckless streak and all the clearance he'd need to get there) takes matters into his own hands and takes off. Coaster gets back in one piece, and he and Talkie have a bit of a disagreement. Meanwhile, Kougo and Loange get into other trouble (understandable when you try to act as live bait and complete the mission at the same time) and Talkie ends up ramming the ship through the wall. What happened then? What happens next? Why couldn't they just team up with the Resistance? These and other details, coming soon at Fragment Zero. (by the way, if anyone who views these posts happens to be musically inclined in any way, please feel free to critique or give specific feedback on any particular piece or certain sections)

Sap overload: just add water. "Rainwalk"I'm not sure when in the story it'd play, but it has lyrics and most of the songs that do will be referenced obliquely with them if and when I ever get around to actually writing the series (or publishing music videos or whatever). Perhaps due to the nature of the story and characters, it gets really sappy towards the later half (after the waltziness). Remember the tidbits about the Gelert Assassin's family dying and causing his heart to go cold? No? Well, more generally and accessibly, how about Kanrik's village falling victim to a mysterious plague? What do you mean he was lying? That's not headcanon. >_>; (it's also a good way to bring Ta-Kutep in with Abisma, because of course, neither's history is defined very well... ) Really, the symptoms and general physical appearance are pretty similar to what Wraith exposure does. How does this relate? Well, turns out that a lot of places in the area have the same problem, it's getting worse, and at some point along the line Ganelo and Loange end up orphaned. Of course, this song happens a little bit down the line, so it starts off pretty happy despite the foul weather (necessary for emotionality). Then she has the poor timing to ask what's happened to everyone. The waltzy part is basically him lying through his teeth trying to console her, while the next part is him failing miserably at it and breaking down as well.

Well, the Creative Endeavors board has certainly been quiet. 0_o; "Westmount Pass"Piecing some puzzling pieces together and consulting Evremoor's resident shady priest, the remainder of the group goes on their mission to save Meridell from total cataclysm. This happens to involve traveling to the place that is basically the antithesis to the place they unleashed said cataclysmic evil from, the theme of which you've already heard. Unfortunately, this will ultimately lead to an action that (seemingly) permanently separates them while only delaying the inevitable carnage. (...wow, even the storyline is starting to sound familiar. -_- At first, it's just a struggle with the perpetual cold, which they pretty much forget about when they near the summit, but it gives way to the burden of separation as they head down into the last valley before their destination; even if they make it back alive, they get the sense that it'll be their last mission as a team. Even that pales in comparison to the sight of their destination. (You can probably guess from the last few bars where that is.) It also happens to be the same mountain that everyone goes back to Altador through in an earlier comic. Hence West... mount... pass*cough*

Sooo, I was almost done about six more tracks and had many more half-formed ideas in progress by the time November hit, at which point I lost it all in a tragic act of thievery and I hadn't backed any up or uploaded any of them. >_> So here's the first one in the recovery! "Spectral Fen"There's a point in every Treasure Keeper's life where they find a place that's a little more evil, a little more subtly dangerous, a little harder to escape, etc. than they bargained for. This particular group has such an experience searching for the site of the ritual that ravaged Portal City hundreds of years ago, rumoured to be half-sunken in the boggiest regions of Neopia, far beyond the Werelupe Woods (back before the tourism industry took off), where only ghosts and ghouls remain, still feeding off the fear of anyone foolish enough to enter. However, more pressing for Izyl than the typical dread is the knowledge that, somehow, he's traversed this wretched place before... So, yeah, first one re-done, and I think it's a little bit better. Most of the first part is the same, but once the pizzicato strings come in, it's basically completely different from what it was before. >_> It's also supposed to transition into another track that I have not started yet since losing it the first time. Note: it is supposed to sound muddy. That's the pun. xD

Some of you may remember this post of mine from a week or so ago. Is trying to write a fugue. oh dear Lord what have I gotten myself intoThis is how it's turned out so far, though it's likely to go through some edits later. "Errant" Fughetta in G Minor (First Draft)I'm pretty sure it's missing at least one of the many strict elements that make something a true fugue (for example, the start has the floor pedals going as well as the main point, which is a no-no because the main melody is supposed to be just introduced by itself and other stuff gradually built in and modulated and whatnot). A fughetta is the next best thing according to Wikipedia. Story-wise, this part hasn't been thought through too well yet; theoretically, this is one of the several character exposition points where Ganelo demonstrates his musical talent. Not sure if he's the one who helps write it, too, or if he's just playing it, but in any case, that's pretty impressive for a Shoyru with two fingers per hand. (And two wings. Either that or a partner would be required given the number of notes at once some of these bars. >_>) In any case, he's probably being his usual self and halfway playing it while halfway just jamming on the organ. And probably making plenty of changes to the draft Evril provided, anyways. And, I just realized, probably going a few beats per minute too fast for most of it. If you listen really closely in the very last bar, you might hear where Izyl quietly comes up and plods a couple notes in the high register. It's part of one of the complete tunes that I didn't upload before losing it in November, sooo... that one might be next. >_> In other news, I'm re-enabling downloads for all the tracks I've put up so far, if you're so inclined. Just don't sell them or anything, because rights are still reserved because I Scrooge. ._. (like, non-profit-only and attribution-required kinda thing)

Some of you in the Skype chat might have heard me babbling about getting a new program. I decided to try out Mixcraft and record a tune that's been in my head for the past month or so. "Among The Deep"I may post lyrics later when I come up with a full set. Yes, another minor and slow and somewhat haunting one. Story-wise, I imagine this happens after Seeker's Folly, where the group is basically starting to get haunted. Real-life-wise, I imagine that I could start a career in film scoring. 8D And then I remember that musical careers are unstable or not what I'm going to school for or something. I'm probably going to be re-composing and re-uploading a bunch of older tracks as well to bring them up to this glorious new standard that is Mixcraft's instrument library.

Kind of a long story for this one, so I'll just post the link that should explain everything. >_> ntwriters.proboards.com/post/2584304Turns out it's the first tune I've done completely from scratch in Mixcraft (without writing up the MIDI in MuseScore first) and I think it sounds pretty nifty, even if it's a bit different from my usual style.

Ah, geez, I haven't updated this in a while. Well, uh, firstly I joined another ProBoard (gasp!) that's all about music from the Pokémon games so I did a couple remix/medleys so far for that. Medley: Pokémon TCG "Club Master" / Pokémon R/S/E "Regi Battle"Medley: Pokémon C/XD Relic Forest / Pokémon Mystery Dungeon "Personality Test"And I also did a track inspired by the Medieval RP we did last year. Medieval Medley (Draft)It's supposed to flow as one track (with very seamful looping, ouch, but at least it does loop) but the secions are inspired by each faction:
Intro (straightforward) Peasants (got the folksy melody and stuff) Shadows (more tensions, chromatics, sneakiness--since they were known as peasants for most of the game this section is also slightly shorter) Stallions (intended to sound kinda like a workshop but with a hint at the magicness of Ambrose's visions and such) Jades (organ, choir, more cliché-classical-music style and progression) Climax/outro (I guess Ascensions, I don't really know)
