420. It's close enough to the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. 420 is actually a drug reference. XD So let's not do that. 200, I think would be good. Based on reasoning stated already, that would give us a new bloid every 8 weeks or so... So about six new bloids a year. Not too many, but a bit more than the four from a 300/quarterly system. But gives it a bit more staying power than changing month. And honestly, if 200 gets to be a point that we're going through it more often... Excellent :3 I thought of that right when I was reviewing the new posts right now XD Totally forgot that XD; Well I guess if we cap it, 300-400 seems fine with me, or bi-monthly-tri-monthly

TL;DR summary:
Bloids need a way of not getting ridiculously long threads.
Proposed methods:
1) random, but page cap at 399 2) Page-based limit: 200, 300, 400 3) Time-based Limit: monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly
Considerations:
1) Consistency so everyone knows what to do (argument against random) 2) more frequency of new threads simply because it is desired more. No one has said what their desired frequency really is. 3) a typical month may only see ~100 pages (1500 posts) at the most. Often less than that. (page-based limits should consider this point when thinking of frequency of new threads and how often one will pop up)
If there's no more to discuss, seems options are pretty straightforward and a poll should be introduced?

Maybe we can do 2 polls to make it easier.
First Poll: Random VS Page Limit VS Time Limit Second Poll: Whatever wins, and the options behind it, since we have multiple options for them all except random.

I've seen a lot of discussion regarding this topic on the 'Bloids recently, especially considering that we're nearing page 200. Hope nobody minds that I'm reviving this topic so that we can actually settle it >>;
I'd personally be fine with any method that we can agree on. I definitely agree, should we choose random dice rolls, that there should be a slightly shorter cap so that we don't keep rolling 800-page threads; I also think that going with a monthly/bi-monthly/month-and-a-halfly system would be a nice change from what we've been using as well, although it has the potential to result in longer/shorter threads based on varying activity levels (see the IC Chat threads as an example).
I was never around for the 'Bloids with a consistently level cap (150 pages, I think) so I don't really have an opinion on that. Although judging by the looks of it we're probably going to pass over the 200 page mark on this current 'Bloid soon, so that's probably not an option >.>;

Yeah, we should probably conclude this soon. xD
For the time being, I think we should cap the current bloids at around 300, just so that we've decided on a number.
As for future bloids, I'm not sure if we should do a monthly/bi-monthly/whatever type bloids given the variation in activity levels mentioned, and I know the Bloids has those variations in activity as well. But in honestly, I'd be fine with whatever method chosen, as long a Bloid doesn't just get something like 50 pages.
I advocate for a dice roll that caps at 399 or something like that. But I'd be fine if we just stuck with 400 page bloids from now on.

I prefer having page limits rather than monthly 'bloids, personally. I'd be okay with a capped dice roll, too. If we have a page limit, 300 sounds good to me.

Ugh. No dice, please. No dice at all.
Dice don't work on mobile app at all (being a separate hack), and I'd like knowing when the bloids will end each time instead of having to look it up somehow.

Well, as a compromise for the dice, we could roll the dice and immediately show the resulting page number under it so that people who can't see the dice can still find out when the bloids end.
I wouldn't mind having a consistent cap either, though.

Or just get off the mobile device *brick'd*
Yeah, I agree with GLQ.
I haven't been totally active lately, but having a dice cap would work. And it would help keep the Bloids a bit random like they've been known to be in the past...

I think people are going to forget to put the dice roll under the number after a while, and then mobile users would get annoyed. >.> I'd prefer to see a regular page limit, means you don't have to look back at the front page all the time to see when the 'bloid started or how many pages it's supposed to have. x3 400 is probably pretty long, it's taken over two months to get to nearly 200. 150 used to work just fine, 200 would probably be okay, personally I'd prefer not to see more than that though.
