Aaron: question about imagination.
"Is it bad for when I use my imagination... that I black out? It happened way before we came here, but does that mean something, about the bad things that'll happen if imagination and reality collide?"

You get a bit of an ego boost at being called THE HERO, but decide not to mention it, and instead ask him this.
"the wise be@st is @ne @f the c@ntinuum gu@rds? wh@ @re the @thers? @nd wh@ is the dre@m m@ker?"

"Oh~" Your shoulders droop, bringing on a drained feeling. This sensation is quickly replaced by a resolve to fight. You'll go to great lengths to regain the ability to DREAM, not to mention sleep. No wonder this guy was so crabby. "So once we defeat this ~horrible evil~ or repair the Pillars or whatever, we'll be to be able to dream again, right~?"
> Cadrax: Elaborate.
"|youur eyes|" you reply irritably. How could he not know this? You were sure he was the reason for it. It had seemed to be a cowardly attempt to hide his IDENTITY. "|Im not able to meet them and its incredibly vexing|"

"That's... probably a bad thing, yes. I would refrain from Imagining too much, in that case. It most likely is some sort of side effect of the weakening barriers, but nothing to worry about too much at the moment."
=======>
"You do not need to know right now. If it should ever become vital information, you will meet them. Most ancient purities prefer to keep as far away from civilization as possible, while still protecting it. It's rather odd; ancient evils tend to be just the opposite.
The Dream Maker, as I've just said, is an ancient purity, a very powerful being who guards the Otherworld and allows people to dream. He doesn't create the Dreamworlds, exactly, but he allows them to be created, if that makes sense. He also helps uphold the barrier between Imagination and Reality, but we've heard nothing from him for far too long. He is doing nothing to help the barrier; the only reason it still exists anymore is because of us, and it becomes more and more difficult to save with each passing moment.
=======>
"Well, once the Pillars are restored to their full power, the barrier will be back to normal, and the Dream Maker will no longer have a reason to deny access to the Dreamworld, so, probably. No guarantees, though. I don't even know where the Dream Maker is."
=======>
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Nothing's wrong with my eyes. Look at them."
And although all of your instincts scream against it, you force yourself to stare into the empty darkness of his eyes, and are greeted with the most draining sense of depression and hopelessness you've ever experienced. All your fears, all your sadness, all your weaknesses, all your secrets, swirl around you in a black cloud of despair and tragedy. You can hardly breathe; you feel like you're drowning, or falling. Or perhaps both.
You look away as soon as possible; the thoughts leave, but you still feel more than a bit unsettled.
You don't think you'll try that again.

You were about to respond, but OH MY GOG WHAT THE HELL HIS EYEZZZ happened, and now you don't know what you were going to say. Instead, you spew out something else.
"...s@, uh, wh@t h@ppened t@ the hum@n b@y?" you say, as if saying his name will wake him up.

"I'm not entirely sure," he says, looking at Sean with mild interest. "I did see what happened, though. The star on his shirt seems to be connected with the Academy somehow. The Academy has a spell cast on it that prevents anyone from entering without an escort; that's why you couldn't get in. But somehow... and I don't think he did it on purpose... he used some sort of power to bring all of you here. Must have taken all of his energy, the poor thing. And his star seems to slowly be regaining its former shimmery glow; I expect he'll wake up soon, and then you can all ask him what happens instead of dreams."

That would have been a much more TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE if you'd looked any longer. You try to hide just how shaken up you are, but it doesn't work very well. Unsurprisingly, this doesn't make you trust the ASTRONAUT any more than you did before. But whatever he did to make you avoid his direct gaze was a good idea. You don't care to ask about it.
> Ikirid: Be impatient.
It feels as if you've been asking questions for long enough. Whatever the CHANCES are of being able to dream again, you want to try. Now you're OBSESSIVELY CURIOUS as to what Sean will say when he wakes up. Maybe not-dreaming isn't as horrible as it sounds, and he's doing something better right now. If there's anything better than DREAMING, that is. The suspense is crippling.
You impatiently POKE Sean's shoulder, rocking back and forth to contain your anxiousness.

> Buck: Listen to the astronaut guy.
You do your best, but the symbology he's using is so abstract that he may as well be speaking in another language. You struggle to keep up with him as he stacks words like REALITY and GUARDIAN and DREAMWORLD one on top of the other as if they were cookies on a plate and he was doing you a great favour by handing them to you. This somehow reminds you of all that DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS fantasy stuff some of your friends are into but that you've never really understood or cared for.
You become confused and completely unresponsive.
After a while of tuning him out, though, you begin to notice the periodic glares the astronaut is shooting at your chum Aaron. Why would he be angry at Aaron? You rack your brain for an explanation, anything that would set him apart from you and the others, and your mind strays back to that moment just a few minutes ago, when Aaron had been stumbling around. Hadn't he just drunk SOMETHING? You feel a bit anxious as you wonder what, exactly, that SOMETHING was.
You are jolted out of your speculation when the astronaut — Stardust Warrior #-585 or whatever it was he said you should call him — asks for questions. Some of your chums the aliens start peppering him with queries, requesting clarification on the details or additional information to fill in the gaps. You try to piece together the parts of the conversation you missed through the answers he gives. You are not entirely successful, and are further shaken by the experience finally meeting his eyes proves to be.
You are trembling slightly, deeply unsettled, but you bite the inside of your cheek to hold yourself together and concentrate on breathing steadily. Then, almost instinctively, you find the words to ask the most important question you can think of.
"Why us" you ask. "I'm all for saving the universe. I mean everything. It's a pretty great place to live. But I think this beast might have made some kind of mistake bringing us here. We're not warriors. We're kids" You pause. "Kids and alien offspring of some description. But I don't think we're really qualified to fight ancient evils. I mean I don't think you could have chosen a more dysfunctional group of fourteen people from anywhere else in the universe"

"The Wise Beast did not bring you here," he said gravely, as if this were a very horrible fact indeed. "I do not know who did, or why. All I know is that the Wise Beast predicted your arrival, and arrive you finally have.
Whether you are properly qualified or not," he says, raising his voice slightly--he is heading to the back of the room and taking something out of one especially soggy-looking cardboard boxes--"is not up to me to decide. However, it is up to me to give these to you, and see you on your way, and it is your job to try your best to... keep things... not... screwed up. Okay? We're done with questions for now; I'm running short on time. If you're confused, just ask the silent one." He points to Kiorid. "She probably knows more than I do."

Aaron: ask more questions.
you feel like you have to mention this fact.
"Since we're going on a Big mission To save The World, What Will we Need In order to Accomplish Stuff?
And While I have the Time, Will We Have Access to this Place Again, once we're on The Mission?"

You watch as 585 starts opening the VERY DAMP BOXES, and wait eagerly to see what he brings out. You like getting stuff, and this stuff is bound to be VERY COOL STUFF.

The astronaut guy is clearly out of his mind.
You have a great deal of respect for your friends' skills and abilities, of course. But you are not entirely convinced they are any more up to the task of SAVING EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE EVER than you are.
Briefly, you wonder if you may have been summoned from the wrong universe. If whoever brought you here had all the universes to choose from — all of them — then maybe that was where they made their mistake. Maybe in some alternate universe you are all SUPERHUMAN WARRIORS. You consider mentioning this, but the astronaut doesn't seem to be taking any more questions.
Instead, he is moving over to one of the DAMP BOXES at the back of the room. He said he was going to give you something. You are suddenly not sure you want to know what these things are.

>RT: Listen to the Jargon
Whoever this guy is you already don't like him. From a safe distance you listen to what he had to say through your computer monitor. You also listen closely to all the questions and answers. Any of this could be a lead.
Why is it all so....familiar?
Th!s !s re@lly Frustr@t!ng
You decide to pick out one of the trolls in the group to have a delightful conversation with. However... Perhaps now would not be the best time to contact them directly... Perhaps, ones PAST self will do nicely. You choose the snobby looking one with the monocle. He seems kinda familiar. Whether it's because your Moirall looked similar or what, you have no idea. Only one way to find out....

>Helixe: ReturnReturn? What's that supposed to mean? You've totally been here the whole time. Yup. You're sitting in one of the chairs, feeling much more comfortable about being inside, and trying to make sense of what this incredibly rude person is telling you. Maybe this is an acceptable way to treat the various lowbloods and humans in the room, but an indigo-blood such as yourself demands better treatment! " yeah Kay, sssaving the w@rld isss great and all, but c@uldn~t y@u have asssked m@re nicely? i had thingsss t@ d@ and it wasssn~t very p@lite t@ jussst take usss with@ut a warning." You cross your legs at the ankle and try to meet the man's eyes to give him a haughty stare, but looking into those eyes you instantly forget what it was you were going to tell him. Instead you look away quickly, staring at the ground and trying not to look shaken.
