Gelquie Yee, even with the Youtubers I really enjoy, some things they comment on I don’t find as weird or them, or just simply disagree with it being cringey. Usually with those videos, I can tell based on subject matter and just skip over them just because they’re not for me x3 But then there’s those magical times where I do think the thing is as weird as they say, but that’s exactly why I must seek it out and be entertained by it >w> Yeah, usually with the people I watch, even if they do point out problematic things they usually disclaim with “if you like it that’s fine,” and if it’s about a certain person online “don’t go trolling them because of this.” Since yeah, there’s typically wiggle room for enjoyment before outright boycotting something for problematic elements, so long as you have an open mind to look at things critically while enjoying them.

Twillie - Yeah, if it's a matter of preference, I just don't see the big deal. (And if someone's calling it cringey, I'm actually more likely to skip over the person calling it cringey. xD Usually the things people call "cringey" are things that are completely fine or to one's taste, or they're being called cringey because it's "weird", which is wholly subjective and not very nice to people who are "weird". People like me.) So yeah, seek out all the material you like, whether it's to your taste or to be entertained by it. x3 And yeah. I think it does depend, but most people aren't intentionally being harmful. I'm actually someone who can easily pinpoint when there's a problematic element. Usually it's minor or not worth mentioning, though, so I just kinda keep it to myself. (And then there are times where something is chock full of problematic stuff to the point where it really bothers me and I'm like "how is no one else seeing this??". xD That's thankfully rarer, though. And even then, usually people pick up on one or two things.)

Gelquie At least with who I watch, the "cringey" stuff they talk about is not so much harmless stuff but more shady internet personalities/trends, so it's interesting hearing the stories behind those x3 So in a lot of those cases, it's pretty clear the subject matters they're addressing are questionable, but some are less problematic than others so I'll check them out separately out of curiosity xD And yeah, I think with that, it can get really easy to nitpick or read too much into grey areas, so I don't usually stress too much about the minor things if it personally doesn't press buttons for me.

Proof that history, and therefore reality, is crazy: One single battle from WW2 ( Battle of Monte Cassino) saddened and shook one crewman of a bomber so much that he was inspired to write (in my opinion) one of the greatest, most poigniant and heartbreaking works of science fiction ever (check my post on Books Get Rec'd). It deals with themes of cycles of violence, of man's inhumanity to man and of the beauty and nobility in the effort to preserve knowledge despite all these odds. Also present at that battle? A chain-smoking, hard-drinking bear carrying crates of artillery shells. Just try to imagine the former and the latter in one single piece of fiction. Everyone would call it tonally dissonant and laugh at the narm.

True fear: feeling the impact of your flight landing but not realizing you’ve reached the ground, thinking instead that the turbulence is just that bad.

The other day, I was looking up an acronym, and while I was in that neighborhood of the Free Dictionary, I also decided to look up "NTWF" just for the heck of it. ...Don't know why the turkey federation came up when the thing is that it's not the same acronym, but still--hey, look, Netwuff! You made the cut! =D Also, I have never in my life heard someone use the phrase "ntwf" to abbreviate "now that was funny." XDD

I'm sure using that acronym for that definition on this forum will cause much confusion.
I'm in.

My Masters dissertation is going to be on how human remains are treated by museums for the purposes of telling their stories. It will examine how to present the narrative around human remains in a way that maintains their humanity and engenders compassion for the subject.
So clearly, I must call it "Dead Men Tell No Tales".

I got a pair of ski pants this past Christmas, which are great for keeping my legs warm when I'm outside shoveling snow. I quickly found out, however, that my cat is scared of the noise the fabric makes when the legs rub against each other as I walk. Thus, in order to avoid upsetting the cat, I have to waddle around with my feet spread a foot and a half apart until I get outdoors.
Do I look absolutely ridiculous? Of course. Am I still willing to bend over backwards just to please the furball? Naturally.

My cooking has been evolving lately. Generally with me and cooking, I have steps where I learn a thing, do that for way too long, eventually expand out of boredom or me needing types of food or nutrition, find out I like what I did, and keep doing that. And gradually, I move up in tiers. I think I'm in another phase of that right now.
My latest discovery... Is that good things like biscuits are actually really easy, and have a good texture, and is a great grab-and-go snack and bread substitute, and rolling it out before baking is optional if you add more milk*, why the heck haven't I done these before??
* A discovery I made a while ago is that milk substitutes work just fine in milk's place. Take that, lactose.

Last night, part of my dream involved the power seriously going out. I was looking out my bedroom window to see a chaotic storm outside, and power line poles were being knocked down one after the other. (Ignoring the fact that there aren't all that many or visible outside my window.)
Today, the power went out for the entire street.

So, just go these multivitamin pills since I've lately been reading dietary and health articles and figured I should try being a bit more healthy and they suggest taking a multivitamin specially made for your gender is one good way to do it. Alright, so I got NOW's ADAM Men's Multiple Vitamin Tablets (Superior Men's Multi). So I'm reading the instructions to make sure I'm going to take them correctly when I spotted an interesting part of the Caution label (and remember, these are pill specifically made for men): Um, what? I literally did a double-take. And go ahead, check the link to the site's page for the product, it's on there too! BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING, yes, upon thinking about it for more than a minute it's likely on there for both legal reasons (while it's made for men it's not that women can't take them, they're just vitamins and minerals) but also they do have other multivitamin products for woman and both genders so it's probably also a generic warning they put on all labels. Though still, funny at first glance.
