Beginning of summer: Find a wasp nest at my window. There was only the queen, and the nest was quickly dispatched before it could grow further.
Consistently: A wasp keeps trying to fly into my apartment, blocked by the screen. This does not deter the wasp and it keeps happening.
Also, while outside practicing for the play, there are wasps consistently buzzing around me, even with a eucalyptus balm I mostly keep for sinuses, but eucalyptus is supposed to help against bugs too. Not enough with this batch, though.
Now: "Huh, what's that on the ground under the table?" Apparently, it's two dead wasps. I don't even know any got inside, and I can't see how they could get in through the window as the screens should be shutting them out.
... Am I just cursed this summer?

This sounds like the beginning of a book where a wasp queen has passed on her powers to a human. The human constantly attracts wasps. Whether it is one of those cool fantasy where the human goes on to save the world with their wasp powers or a horror depends on your point of view. For real though, I hope that sorts itself out because that sounds scary. Wasps are not nice.

Celestial - Maybe it starts out as a horror, then moves into more of the former as I gradually get used to it and maybe slightly get over my phobia. =D The problem seems to have abated... But only because there's an abundance of wildfire smoke. That's not better at all.

Funny story. I was just taking off my headphones like any other time, but mid-removal, I suddenly hear a snap. I take a look, and somehow the head strap snapped in two xD; Either I don't know my own strength, or this is just another sign that these headphones are coming ever closer to their end.
The sound still works though! Everything still technically works, only now the headphones don't properly fit on my head; they're a lot looser and it's very obvious how broken they are by just looking at me x3 Probably why I still stubbornly want to get some mileage out of these headphones. Despite everything else on them falling apart, the sound quality has always stayed good. But, not sure how I can really fix this issue without it looking like I'm wearing actual trash, so might be time soon to look for some new headphones x3
but still gotta wait until I have some actual money in my account, hnnng

Media things: "Yaya, fourth of July!" Me: "Ooh, a sale! I needed to go to this store anyway..."
(Yeah, I don't feel much like celebrating. At least I can get some decent cheap clothes.)

My mother was looking through some stuff in my uncle's house today--he's downsizing for a move--and she found a photo album from the 1950's that has her as a baby and the name of the family cycling business. It's still open! I sent the guy an email, hoping for the best. <3 So neat!

If you've never lived in a country plagued by possums, I don't think I can describe how utterly bizarre those creatures sound.

I'm all for the forum changes; I helped with them, after all.
But I know, one day, I'll accidentally post a mini-rant into mini-gloats due to muscle memory.

My daily exercise is in part to get me out of bed.
So how do I do half of it today, then go back to sleep and sleep in a bunch?
Sometimes I fail at being an adult. xD

In the adventures of random articles mobile Google recommends me, I saw this one that immediately caught my eye. It's a cute little story about the real life friendships that people have made through Neopets, but what really made me double take was this sub-headline: My first impulsive thought was that some NTWF people were secretly interviewed for this article xD Apparently Neo friend weddings have happened more than once!

A British/American Youtuber I watch has announced that he will be doing a Soviet musical for his next episode.
Admittedly, it is not one I grew up with but it made me happy that at least some piece of media is getting a look which is not "hurr hurr, this is different". At the same time, I feel sad that this is happening to something that I have never heard of (or just slipped me by) and none of my beloved childhood favourites will ever get a good look.

One cool thing about my mom having visited (just one among other things!).
Is when we decide to cook a meal together, she looks through your cabinet, and thanks to her years of experience, can instantly tell what else I can do with all of it.
My impromptu dinner cooking now involves stir fry and it's great because I wasn't eating the healthiest before and it turns out I can do all sorts of experimentation with the sauce from things I already have.
Thanks, mom.
