Kind of want to cut my hair again to donate it, kind of want to be selfish and keep it for myself because I love my long hair. I guess I have time to decide; I probably wouldn't cut it until spring anyway. It helps me stay warm during winter, it's like wearing a cape! I was selfish >>; I got a haircut today because my hair was starting to feel unmanageably long, but I only got about 4 inches chopped off. Maybe I can donate it in a few months when I've regrown it. The hairdresser told me my ends were fairly dry and a bit damaged anyway, so it wouldn't have been the best. ^^; I feel really good with my new length!

I've been playing Minecraft for almost 3 straight days. Who'd know that I'd be so fascinated by 3D pixellated architecture

I like "It's the End of The World As We Know It" by Great Big Sea.
Someone out there reading this thread just went "THAT'S NOT THEIR SONG!" How do I know? 'cause every time I say I like a band's cover, someone in the room always has that reaction. XD

My middle sister does have a point. My baby sister has everything already by second grade, smartness, interest in sciences and math, looks, popularity, artistic talent, even a voice that apparently her music teacher wants her to train. What the heck, we both were a pair of antisocial little twerps, she used to throw tantrums over the smallest things while I used to be annoying and eat roly-polies. Why are we so different from my baby sister???

Why are we so different from my baby sister??? My family asks ourselves the same question every day regarding my little sister vs the rest of us. xD A part of it in my case could be the fact that she's so much younger than us that we weren't at developmentally similar levels and thus didn't really grow up with us kid-to-kid. But there's still a lot of differences that are "whaat?". Like her being way more into the social scenes than the rest of us. Could be just luck of the draw, in part. xD If there's anything I learned while growing up (even without considering my little sister), it's that siblings can be very, very dissimilar in personality.

Could be just luck of the draw, in part. xD If there's anything I learned while growing up (even without considering my little sister), it's that siblings can be very, very dissimilar in personality. True, true, my middle sister and I are like two peas in a pod and have always been that way, despite our polar opposite personalities, meanwhile my baby sister is almost like a niece to us because she came around over a decade later. I'm just surprised that she's sooo different, even developmentally, maybe my middle sister is closer to her when it comes to learning abilities, but me? I spent most of my schooling being just above average and generally enthralled more by fantasy and fiction books and cartoons than classes. My interests in anything only came about in late middle school.
And social skills were not even a thing for me and my middle sister, like, I spent literally until high school to make more than one or two friends at each school, and I generally dealt with a lot of bullying and labelling as "the weird kid," who nobody wanted to befriend, while middle sister was so shy she would not speak to anyone, and throw serious tantrums, and was picked on by teachers because of her brash and abrasive personality, and she surrounded herself with bullies and other problematic kids. So, seeing my little sister be such a social butterfly, with friends and "boyfriends" and "girlfriends" who will even gift her stuff? It's surreal for us.

Me: Probably not going to have a job at the end of March. Also me: Books holiday for the end of March.
Because you know what? If crap is going to happen to me at the end of March, I might as well give myself something nice to look forward to.

I keep on coming back to watching every year more and more content about of Night in the Woods. There's just too much to appreciate from this totally underrated video game, in between its vignette storytelling style that captures really well daily life; its themes about growing up, nostalgia, dealing with issues that you might not really sure what are they, and moving on; its whole setting on a town that reminds me much of the city I spent my teens on; and its extremely relatable yet individual main characters, and their dynamics, I just can't help loving it. I personally find Mae's character the closest to me, and Mae's and Bea's relationship to be very similar to the dynamic my middle sister and I have. But like, overall, it's such an enjoyable, relatable, and lovable game, I can't help but draw inspiration from it to my own projects. Also, one day, I wish to own a physical copy of it.

So today I've learned that my father's younger sister has been married for 22 years. My father, my mother, everyone learned about it the other day, actually. No one knew. I mean, they lived together for years, but we all just assumed they were in an nonformal union, I mean, there was no ceremony, no news, she doesn't bear his last name, nor a ring, nothing, they even spend months apart, in between her job conferences and his job travels. Also, they never had a child, she told me she's too old, and they waited too long, so like, if it wasn't for her breaking out the news, no one would have known.
That's so weirdly surreal, imo. Not sure how to feel about that.

Not sure how to feel about that. I think that's admirable. They've taken marriage to its very essence, and it's nobody's business but their own. 'Course, I totally agree, I would've been shocked, too, had I -just- learned that one of my relations had been married all this time. But after being on this earth for over two decades, if I knew that a couple has lived together for a really long time, I'm not going to assume they're going to split anytime soon either. XD I feel like if you've lived with the same person for 5-10 years, you're already more "married" than a lot of legal marriages these days LOL! But perhaps I'm just a little perturbed by how marriage has been portrayed in our times. XD

It sounds like a cool thing to do, and I've joked before with my sister about the idea that, if someday I get to marry, if I ever marry, just skip the whole ordeal, sign the book, take off to a lowkey honeymoon and break the news the family eventually. I guess my aunt got to do it first.
I guess I'm just a bit apprehensive at how my parents are taking, considering the complicated relationship my father has with his sisters.

Went into this interview for scientific initiation and I expected to be an info dump and discussion about a project and how I could help. Instead I got hardcore grilled by the professor about my performance and what high standard is expected of me, and how I'm immature and would have to work either ways a whole entire year for free. Also, he went on a rant about how this is basically a mini research project on the theme they posted about, and how I'd have to work on my own and that means being responsible and mature and I'd have to create a thesis and a whole scientific procedure to investigate stuff. Not gonna say it's bad or unfair, they are a top notch laboratory and I would be working under leading scientists, but big oof when he talked about how I'm expected to do better and how failing classes is an automatic kick out from the program for me. Maybe it's a good idea I save this for a latter year, when I've managed to get most of my curriculum out of the way
