"Easy, I'm not the enemy here, ladies." Sirocco laughed nervously, readying his cane. "I'm just the... Um... Library inspector."
Meanwhile, Miraja had made her way up to the room Hunter was in. "Hunter... What happened to you?" He was covered in wounds, wearing only his trousers, and with a massive bandage around his torso. "Please... Wake up..." Miraja reached placed her hand on his shoulder, but he recoiled at her touch! "Oh! Sorry..."
"It's... Alright..."

"Fine." Saeryennan released Sirocco. "But me and the sisters here are going on a little heroic mission for my mother to find Xandra - if you're coming...Dark Faeries." She didn't entirely trust them, but she thought that they might be able to track Kass.
Nyvenne, of course, would be coming along as well.
"My father can probably guard you..."
She went up the stairs to Hunter's room.
"How is he?" she asked Miraja. "We're going to go find Xandra. If he's up to it I'd appreciate his help."
After hearing about Katriana, Saeryennan now felt sorry for Xandra and wanted to find her as soon as possible. Perhaps she wasn't as bad as the princess had thought...

"Xandra?!" Miraja's fur bristled in anger. That witch had kept trying to steal Hunter from her! "She's better off lost." Miraja huffed.
"Miraja... Maybe you should go in my place, and-"
"Miss me, Miraj- Oh... No. No no no... Hunter." Sirocco swung down from the window. "How're ya doin', buddy?" Sirocco genuinely looked sad as he saw Hunter, all beaten up. The two had formed in unlikely friendship during the Ice Cave Wars.

"why, of course we're comin' with you, princess!" Spite stretched her arms with a large grin on her face. "Malice, do your thing, will you?"
"All right, girls! Stand back..." the oldest sister demanded, a wave of blue energy surroundef her, her eyes closed and her dark hair was moving as if Malice was underwater.
"Such a drama queen...you can simply close your eyes and search, no special effects needed!" Vanity crossed her arms and legs.
"I've never felt such a dark place before...there is so much dark energy in the same place, how pleasant it is!" Malice opened her eyes and created a sort of plasma ball. "Guide us to this land!"
The plasma ball floated trough the broken wall, leaving without waiting it's masters.
"We must go now, this mindless thing won't wait too long!" Malice warned, her voice sounded lime a whisper, almost a hiss.

"I'll go with them in your place, okay, Hunter?" Miraja kissed Hunter good bye and jumped out the window, gliding towards the Faeries.

Saeryennan followed Miraja as fast as she could. Nyvenne carried her out of the window and down toward the Faeries and the Xweetok.
Xandra, meanwhile, was still crying and waiting for an answer from Kass. How did all of this even involve her? In all reality, she was only a Miarra girl who had just happened to receive the gift of magic from her queen, like about a third of all who had lived in Miarra. Why was she so special? And why had Katriana wanted her, and none of the other magically gifted children of which there were thousands? All this time, she'd thought it had just been a random pick among the mages, but now she wasn't so sure...

"Friends... I think we have someone who could join us." Kass roughly dropped Xandra on the ground, and tendrils, like the ones that the Wraiths used to feed on the lifeforce of Neopets, restrained her and weakened her magic energy. Shadowy figures appeared out of the mists; Ambition, Greed, and their leader, Revenge. "Mordryd, I'm sure you would take a special interest in this one..." Kass smirked.
Mordryd, the current avatar of Revenge, was also the most powerful. The Gelert stepped up, his cloak tearing away to reveal black armour as he returned to some semblance of how he looked in life. "Hail, Alyxandra. I am Sir Mordryd, Meridell's greatest knight, and its destined ruler... Until that wretch Arthur overthrew me and restored power to that oaf, Skarl, after I had obtained the orb." There was no camaraderie between Mordryd and Kass. Mordryd's actions were the very reason the Citadel Wars happened; he led a group of thieves and murderers under the flag of Meridell to steal the orb for his own gain, but was undone when one knight, loyal to the royal family of Meridell, gave resistance upon his return.

Xandra looked up at the Gelert.
"Why...am I here?" she asked in almost a whisper. "Why did K-k-katriana pick...pick me and not-t-t any other...Miarr-ra Neopet with the gift of magic? I...I don't see how I...could have anything you want-t..."

"Because, Xandra... You have the most powerful magical power of any Neopian." He opened the palm of his hand, and six glowing spheres appeared, respectively colored red, green, blue, gray, purple, and yellow. "Fire. Earth. Water. Air. Darkness. Light." The spheres swirled around into another sphere, glowing white. "These are the six elements of Neopian magic. Six elements that, together, can form a most powerful artefact..." suddenly, the sphere became metallic in sheen, and strange etchings were engraved upon it. "The Orb of Life. So far, there has only been one instance when the Orb of Life was created; the six most powerful Faeries from each element, and the previous Faerie Queen, Titania, crafted one to give to the Neopian land they deemed most worthy... Altador." Mordryd then reached out towards Xandra's head, and grasped her by her temples, flooding her mind with images of the past. "However, the orb would not remain there. When the Mistress of Nightmares betrayed the others, some Altadorians escaped, led by a Korbat... Lord Darigan. They took the Orb of Life with them, to keep it out of the Betrayer's clutches... And they hid away in a valley, deep within the most inhospitable mountains. The Orb made this wasteland into a paradise, and, thanks to the impassable mountains surrounding them, they were safe from anyone who wished them ill... Until I learned of them, and the Orb, thanks to a Kyrii Seer with bright golden eyes. It was then..." Mordryd grinned slightly. "That I led the attack. These innocent people, who knew nothing of war... Were crushed. Some of my men plundered the gold from this region; others would partake of the harems I had crafted from captive women. I, on the other hand, only sought the orb. The orb that had given this land's leader such a long life... The old fool, Lord Darigan." In image appeared in Xandra's mind, of the wise, kind Korbat trying to persuade the cruel Gelert knight to not steal from his people. "After my loyal second-in-command, known as the Darkest Knight, managed to quell his resistance with a well placed attack... I cast a curse on his kingdom with the power of the Orb, a curse that remains broken until this day." Mordryd then released Xandra, who was shocked by the horrifying images she saw of the ruined land and its people. "It's... Fitting that our most loyal agent hails from that land. It seems my machinations twisted his mind." Mordryd glanced at Kass, who scowled back. "Any more questions, Alyxandra?"

Xandra gasped. She also felt a little stronger, since it reminded her all too much of Katriana, a name that would cue Xandra's battle instinct.
"This was...all after Katriana? What exactly happened with her and Queen Miarra? I always thought Faeries couldn't die, so what did Katriana do to her mother? And how could she know I was the most powerful?"
She needed to get the lowdown on the Faerie she hated. Now. Maybe then she could think of how to defeat her, and make sure that that winged tyrant never possessed her - or anyone - ever again.

"We faeries don't die of natural causes..." Ambition, also known as Lilis, walked over to Xandra. "A powerful enough Neopian can kill us easily. I thought you of all Neopians would know thata fter that little stunt you pulled with Faerieland."

Well, Xandra lost it then.
"KATRIANA MADE ME BLAST THAT CHIA!" she screamed. "THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET RID OF HER WAS TO - "
But before she could finish her sentence, she fainted. Those wraiths were pretty strong.
Meanwhile, Saeryennan and her friends had reached what seemed like a dark portal, which she and Nyvenne shied away from.
The Cybunny willed herself to take a step closer to it, as she knew she would have to be brave.

"Miss me?" Miraja dropped down from the sky, and folded up her fan. "Wow... I'm not sure we should go in there." Miraja palced a paw through the portal, and a Wraith tendril grabbed on to her! "Urrgh! Get off me!"

"Miraja!" Saeryennan cried out. As fast as she could she jumped after her and swung at the tendril.
Xandra's eyes fluttered open. At first she couldn't quite see where she was, but then she saw she was still being held by the tendrils. She closed her eyes a little bit so it would look like she was still unconscious, however, in all reality she was spying. She could see a tiny bit.

"So, Kass...." A deep, hellish voice rumbled from within a vast sea of flame. "What have you brought for me?"
"Oh, just some more souls that the Three didn't want, Emperor." Kass opened the puch on his belt and wailing ghosts emerged. Many of them were innocent Neopians Kass killed for fun. "Seems that the Three don't want any relatively innocent souls." Kass scowled. "In my eyes, everyone is guilty until proven innocent. Except for me, of course."
"Yes.... Let them burn in my flames... This alliance... It has allowed me to regain strength faster than I ever could through my worshipers, like that fool, Sankara..." The flames burned brighter, and a vast, skeletal arm reached out and grabbed the souls. "Soon, Qasala's rightful emperor - no, the God of the Desert - shall rise again."
"Yes, yes. But you know that you are not to interfere in any areas under my jurisdiction, Razul." Kass frowned. "Just like I won't try and conquer any of the lands you'll preside over, Razul."
The flames surged up and took the shape of a massive Kyrii skull. "Yes, Kass. I will honor our agreement. Soon, the Three will fall..."
"And we will rule this realm - And Neopia. Of course, I have a few more deals to make. I heard that the good captain has been seeking the means to return to the world of the living." Kass vanished in a cloud of shadows. "Farewell, Razul."
