WELCOME TO THE CHARACTER ARENA!
You approach a large complex, which seems to consist of a large square building in the middle with walkways branching out to four large circular buildings. This is the arena, the place where characters can go to duel, practice, or otherwise have battles.
The outside of the large complex is decked in various warrior-décor painted on the outside. All of the buildings are made of very sturdy stone, arranged in such a way so that the place is as indestructible as possible, in case of any events inside or outside.
The circular structures serve as the arenas. They are as follows: Indoor Arena, Outdoor Arena, Water Arena, and Ballistics Arena.
The first circular structure--the Indoor Arena--is indoors and window-less, though there is sufficient lighting inside the structure to see perfectly. This is the place for indoor battles. There are two parts of the building, and they are structured coterminally. The inner circle is the arena itself, and is where the indoor battles and duels happen. This arena restricts serious use of magics and explosions from the competitors; that's what the outside arena is for. The outer part of the circle is for various rooms, which we'll go over in a minute.
The second circular structure--the Outdoor Arena--is surrounded by stone, but is otherwise almost completely out-doorsy except for the outer part of the circle, which has various rooms. This the outdoor arena. Any sort of battle that does more than just physical prowess (AKA: involves explosions or magics) takes place out here. The ground is flat and sturdy, but is designed for any sort of magic, even various deadly magics, within reason. The outer part of the circle will consist of rooms similar to that of the indoor arena.
The third circular structure--the Water Arena--is surrounded by stone, but inside the arena is a giant tank of water, being held by extremely strong polymers such that the water will never leak out. However, there are some pipes at the bottom that periodically filter and renew the water when needed (and these pipes are blocked by grates so that they are inaccessible to the contestants). In the water arena are two small areas of land, where the contestants will begin (unless an exception is provided; an example is if one contestant is a pure fish creature). For those who cannot innately breathe underwater, this is underwater gear that can be provided. Battle by boats will also be permitted, if optional; the Arena is fit to deal with cannon fire by magic. And of course, the tank is empty except for the two surfaces when not in use. Around the tank are places to watch, even from below the surface.
The fourth circular structure--the Ballistics Arena--is like the Outdoors Arena, but it’s more specifically fit for battles of a more technological nature, such as big guns and artillery (including tanks!). It’s nothing more than one big giant field of flat terrain. Another main difference between this arena and the Outdoor Arena is that there's less effort in cleaning the place. The observers stands are high above and strongly protected by magic so that no observer will ever be injured or killed by a stray artillery shell or something. Strong protection is recommended to participate in this Arena.
The rooms in each of the circular buildings have rooms such as waiting-rooms, after-battle rooms, practice rooms, storage rooms, healing rooms, armories, and basically anything you need for a battle. Notable things in the after-battle room are things such as fountains, general wash-stuff (and a private place to wash, if necessary). There is also a large Psynergy stone, which is to help mages refresh their magics after the battle (mostly applies to the outdoor battle arena).
All arenas have stands along the side of the battle arena for spectators. We have designed these to be as safe as possible; there are magics along the side to soak up as much excess damage as possible, but it hopefully won't be necessary.
The square building between all the arenas is the main hub, and serves as the main entrance and exit to the Arena. This place is just for various things, like talking to coordinators in general, meetings, general storage, gathering place for everyone, etc. The lobby is just beyond the doors. People can come here to talk with contestants after the battle or arrange a battle. All arenas can be accessed through this building through the hallways branching out of this building.
One last thing of note: There are many, many healers on staff. Anyone who gets injured during a fight will be subsequently healed after the battle, no questions asked. We also would like to prevent any sort of deaths in the arena. Aside from general wards and emergency healers for when the worst should come, there is an NPC overlord in each arena who watches over the battles (they're controllable by anyone, as long as it’s fair). Their job is two-fold. The first one is to declare the winner of each duel, if a declaration is needed. The main one is to stop the battle if the other combatant is too injured, and to ensure that nothing goes terribly wrong. They're all there to keep the arena as safe as possible. So don't worry too much about getting hurt.
I think that's it. I declare the arena OPEN! Now... to battle!
