what software do you guys use to compose tunes? I use Noteworthy Composer to write the original song. Then, in order to make the instruments sound more realistic (like in the remix I just made), I switch my MIDI output to use XG SoftSynthesizer. Once I have enough time, i'll send you the XG driver files through MSN. Then to compose songs, you can either download a demo version of Noteworthy, or a freeware composer called Anvil Studio which is also really good. ^^

Ah well... I'll just keep using XG then. It's been good to me so far. ^_^ Anyway, I have uploaded a short video that demonstrates all of Ikkin's sword skills so far. The video shows her slashing a mob of spiders and giant spiders with her sword. swordskills.flv(Apologies for the low quality, but I wanted to keep the filesize really small.) Ikkin's Spin Attack skill does less damage than a normal swing, but it can slice every monster around her. When using the Power Strike skill, Ikkin will perform a strong forward stab that causes extra damage to every monster in front of her (although in the video, a giant spider attacked me right after I used it, so you can't really see it that good xD; ). In other news, I have another animation problem. Does anyone know where I can find an animation of a large bird flapping its wings? I'm working on Sev at the moment, and I don't have much experience with drawing bird wings. ^^;

SLICE! SLICE! WHOOSH! SLICE! WHOOSH! STAB! I like seeing sword movement stuff. There's just something fun about it. As for the wings flapping, I don't have any pictures at the moment, but I've read enough to know, and list, some good details. 1. When the wings are moving upward, the feathers at the back are spread out (to some extent), and the wings themselves might be bent at the elbow-thingy. This is so that air can pass by/through them more easily. 2. When the wings move down again, they lock to a straight position and the space between the feathers is closed, for better lift. 3. The downstroke usually takes a little longer than the upstroke, probably because the bird is pushing itself upward and it takes more strength.

You were leaving shinies on the ground. HORROR And large hordes are only fun to plow through if you're a fighter instead of, say, a spellcaster who has to worry about mana levels. Unfortunately I know nothing about animation.

...I was expecting her to walk the way she actually faces, but that works too. I like how her tail wags when you're standing still. As for bird wings, well... I can't really think of anything to help you there, sorry. >_>;

@killix - Ch'yeah. xD; The mobs in Gauntlet 64 were INSANE. You won't see a lot of mobs in this game until the higher levels, since Ikkin has a hard time dealing with the larger mobs by herself (except for spider/bug mobs which are always easy xD). Later in the game, there will be some places where there are simply too many monsters to go it alone - that's where Sev comes in to save the day. His powers work beautifully against ground mobs. ^_~ Speaking of Sev, thanks for the sheet! =) @omni - Thanks for the tips. ^_^ I'll keep them in mind. Amneiger - At the moment, picking up items requires you to hover the mouse over them and click, thus magically transferring them to your inventory. It's a bit of a hassle if you're in the middle of fighting monsters, so I might change it later. xD; @pfa - Thank you. ^^ As I said before, I don't want to spend -too- much time on the graphics, so all characters and monsters in the game will only have 2 directions in their animations even though they can walk in any direction. A lot of classic fighting/beat-em-up games were the same way. =3 @nature - Thankies!

That would be a nice special ability to gain at some point, possibly from some kind of item. ^^ Maybe at first, pressing a button on the keyboard picks up the items you're standing on, but after collecting a certain item, it causes a vacuum effect. =3 And thanks, Ginzy!^^
