NOTICE: This thread is for game information and bug reports only. For general discussion, or if you're stuck and want to get help, swing over to the FableQuest Chat Thread and post there. Thank you! ^_^Get ready for an epic old school adventure! FableQuest: Origin of the Phoenix Knight is a classic-styled role playing game for Windows that blends traditional RPG gameplay with a few modern twists. The game takes place in the distant realm of Megatia; a land of many wonders old and new, held together by the military and political grasp of the Imperium. The story focuses on the forum's very own Ikkin - a kitsune woman with a strong heart and a relentless desire to help those who are in need. Much to her surprise, and to the surprise of others, she quickly learns how to fight effectively with swords and use other fantastic abilities. It will be up to you to help Ikkin discover who she really is and what her role will be in the things to come. Features (as they relate to the planned final version of the game): * A vast overworld map with over 256 areas to unlock and explore, including hundreds of underground rooms, indoor areas, and secret passages * A variety of useful skills to learn in four different categories: Passive, Sword, Magic, and Summon * Over 80 different types of items, each with its own effect or purpose * Three distinct towns with a variety of services, including shops, inns, training areas, libraries, item mixing, and spellcasting * Hundreds of enemies to fight, from simple insects and forest creatures to surreal and completely bizarre monstrosities, and even powerful and intelligent soldiers * Dozens of unique dungeons put your mind and sword to the test, each one longer and more challenging than the last * Colorful, cutout-style graphics and expressive animations * A high-quality soundtrack with over 65 minutes of beautiful music * A compelling story that embraces many classic RPG conventions, while deconstructing others in a unique way DownloadThe game is in a closed testing phase, meaning that if you want to test it, you will have to send me a PM so that I can give you the password. If you're interested, don't be shy. ^_^ I don't bite. Here's the main download, containing all of the necessary files: www.mediafire.com/?xtxymhkybh4After you download it, make sure that you download the patched exe here: www.mediafire.com/?oarutmm5e9u0ri2Once you've got that, just replace the older EXE with the patched one, and you should be all set. ^_^ ScreenshotsCurrent TestersNames listed in italics are testers from outside the forum. Sounds as though Sev is broken unless summoning requires quite a bit of Mana. >.>

Sounds as though Sev is broken unless summoning requires quite a bit of Mana. >.> ' He said that Sev was going to be weakened because of whatever stole my memory, so he's probably going to be more like an advanced fire spell than his ridiculously-overpowered forum-version. Though, he's probably going to be far more awesome than a fire spell, I imagine. ^^ Random idea: maybe a high-level ability would let Ikkin summon Sev to save her once when she dies/faints? This game looks like it's going to be awesome. =D It's really pretty, too. And the Jr. Cheshires are awesome. =3 Floating eyes with smiles =

Thank you everyone! ^_^ I'm not certain when an alpha/beta version will be available for testing, but rest assured, you guys will be the first to know. ^_~ As for Sev, he is indeed summoned with Mana, so it would always help to carry some mana potions. =3 When you increase the level of the Summon Sev skill, the damage he causes to monsters will increase, and he will also learn new summon skills. One of the skills i'm planning to make for Sev is an ability that causes fireballs/meteors to rain from the sky, which will be a life-saver in the later stages of the game when you encounter huge swarms of monsters. Random idea: maybe a high-level ability would let Ikkin summon Sev to save her once when she dies/faints? A Revive skill sounds like an awesome idea! ^_^ Maybe when Ikkin dies, Sev needs a certain amount of mana or a special item in order to revive her.

Niiice! What Program are you using to make that? The isometric view reminds me of Codestone, except that IA seems to have slightly-3D graphics. I keep picturing a 3D NTWF game. I don't know what it would be about, but I keep picturing it, and picturing it as cool.

All right, a way to get Ikkin killed multiple times! *stabbed* But yeah, I want to try this. Especially since ToMe!Ikkin died in a hardware crash ;_;

Yup. I was thinking of our games making cross references to each other, or something like that. X3
I was also thinking of incorporating Ikkin missing as an important plot point in the story. :3

Oooh, interesting concept. I'm sooo gonna test this out when alpha/beta comes available. BTW, I just thinking about one of the plotpoint, maybe having a certain group of villians who somehow knew of Ikkin's bit of memories... maybe familiar villianous faces we might recognize by reading these. Oh yeah, and maybe add in Fluffies, maybe in the later harder stages... What's Ikkin's story like without these little poisonous fire-breathing lizards? Especially when you can cook up a plot as of how some of them remain in this dimension.

I wish I could beta test this too, but I don't know anything about RPG games. XD
