Here's mine. No, I'm not on drugs. I'm shifting into shadows I'm melting into dark Letting go and sinking Into the unlit arc Let yourself go Lower and lower Inhale the blackness like air Dizzying and sinking deeper Spiraling down the chute Embracing the abyss Scented smoke billowing Exhale, dive deeper still Become one with the night. edit: Forgot to put my username. It's thegreenmooseofdoom.

I see what you're getting at, but perhaps it would be more fair if you had everyone PM the poems, and then you could post them for voting without the names of the people who wrote them. That way, no one would know who wrote what poem, so it wouldn't be a sort of "popularity contest" (that's what you seemed to be worried about). Unless, of course, people tell, but I don't think anyone here would. See, I was going to do that, But I knew at least one person would tell. I don't know who would, but someone would.

Here's my rap song about the future, some of it might be a little risqué, depends how you perceive it:
"Five Years' Time"
Verse 1 In five years' time, what might have changed? Is anything simple, what's like, the same, Computers will rule us, but life's a game, Inside your brain, you know I'm right again, Music will have lost its soul, And we'll still try to block the hole, With cheesy pop, hip-hop and rock and roll, We'll have gone so cold, we'll think this song is gold,
Chorus People on the streets will be turning to crime, Britney will be selling herself for a dime, This is what it will be like in five years' time, We'll be pumped full of Botox to stay in our prime, I'll be here thinking for want of a rhyme, This is life in five years' time,
Verse 2 The world's screwed up, we're in a mess, We'll go to hell, we've sinned, I guess, Dying of illness will soon be best, After what we've done to the NHS, Osama will do what Saddam only dares, Playing the market with Marconi shares, Someone will have done right and shot Tony Blair, And yo, it's all over, like the monarchy cares,
Chorus People on the streets will be turning to crime, Britney will be selling herself for a dime, This is what it will be like in five years' time, We'll be pumped full of Botox to stay in our prime, I'll be here thinking for want of a rhyme, This is life in five years' time,
Verse 3 Let's go, yo, no ifs, buts or maybe, This new, modern world is so crazy, It's computerized, we're so lazy, And all our songs have words like "oh, baby", Let's jet off into the gloom of space, Escape the fate of the human race, 'Cause there's no room for me in this place, They just want girls with a cuter face,
Chorus People on the streets will be turning to crime, Britney will be selling herself for a dime, This is what it will be like in five years' time, We'll be pumped full of Botox to stay in our prime, I'll be here thinking for want of a rhyme, This is life in five years' time, This is life in five years' time,
End Fill People fight in the street, Britney's providing the meat, Age we'll try and defeat, I'll be supplying the beat, People fight in the street, Britney's providing the meat, Age we'll try and defeat, I'll be supplying the beat, Must be a crazy test, baby, Doomed to live in a mess, you see, Don't get put off, 'cause the rest of me Knows, It's our destiny, Nothing more, nothing less, please, This is the world how it's meant to be, Wait five years and then you'll see, Ooh-oh-ooh, It's our destiny,
Chorus People on the streets will be turning to crime, Britney will be selling herself for a dime, This is what it will be like in five years' time, We'll be pumped full of Botox to stay in our prime, I'll be here thinking for want of a rhyme, This is life in five years' time, This is life in five years' time,

This one's not that great, since it's old and I wrote it in about two minutes, but I'm too lazy to dig out my better stuff. Changing, changing, always changing, That's the story of my life. Every time I think I've landed On my feet, I'm knocked back off. Now the path beneath my feet is hidden, I turn but don't know where to go. I need advice, a friendly face, A lamp to guide my way; But the night is only getting darker, The snow is only falling faster, And I'm lost here, wandering Without a place to go.

Remember I put it on my lookup because I thought it was so cool? I still can't believe you wrote that, it sounds like it was written by a published poet or something. I am unfortunatly unable to write poetry, so I'll be going now...

No matter how the judging ends up, Fuzzeh will enter, just for the halibut.
Asleep
I wake up early Wake up late Tell me now, before that date Of such dark doom Of such great joy Remind me 'cause I'm just a boy That wants to live That wants to die And wants to take just one last try To know his love To know his hate And outlive life and fight the fate Of those nearby Of those away And those who try their best each day To greater help To greater pain The ones that suffer like a rain That drizzles smooth That drowns out night A soul that never gave up life Since he was gentle He was tough He made it through what was rough To him, his family And to his friends But never let it bring an end And woke up early Woke up late He'll live life on, it is his fate.
I won't copyright, just... no touchie! **smacks hand**
Edit - Dedicated to Brian, survivor of heart surgery and a stroke all in one day (June 10, 2003)... at age 13.

Here is my poem. I know it is stupid and sux , but I did it in like, five minutes. My user name on neopets is moonpuppy399. Poetry ContestI was surfing on the Internet Bored beyond all hope When I came upon a poetry contest And so a poem I wrote. I could write an old ode Became my first thought A long tired poem Full of tears and distraught But I wasn’t real sad So I thought instead I’d write a nice eulogy ‘Bout somebody dead But I just didn’t know Anyone who had died So a thick juicy ballad Was what I next tried, But if you thought that worked Let me tell you, it didn’t So I’ll just write about The poem I have written.

Looking at the Milky Way
I skip through the sky singing la de da, Coming from Andromeda, As for my coming I'm here to stay, Looking at the Milky Way.
I am a goddess walking through the night, Looking for a planet in my sight. Oh forget it, there are no planets away, From the shining Milky Way.
I sit on a star and zoom in near, And I look at Earth with shock and fear, I saw a polluted planet in the middle of way, Making a disgrace in the Milky Way.
I walk over there, from my star, And look at the place from afar. I see people polluting on accident, But others don't know where the pollution went.
I groan in disgust and fly away, Humans make we want to leave the Milky way, I shall travel afar, not to stay, Looking at the Milky Way.
