This will probably still be edited, but as of right now, you'll get the most basic info covered. Welcome aboard the White Weewoo, the finest and most special pirate ship that's ever sailed the seas of the NTWF, and those seas have seen many ships. We're a proud gang of pirates, a bunch of free souls who answer to no laws but our own and consider all the oceans of the world our home, but for the sake of accessibility and simplicity and because renting a mailbox would cost too much, we have made this little place here available for you all to introduce ourselves, recruit new crewmembers, sort out basic guild maintenance issues, interact within the guild and with other guildmembers coming here, et cetera. - Anyone can join, but we don't like lying two-faced rats, so if you turn out to be a double agent for some do-gooder guild looking to drag us down, you can expect trouble. And we're nigh impossible to keep secrets from.
- When I said freedom, don't interpret it as "I'll be a pirate and then nobody will ever tell me again what to do =D" Pirates have a strict code of honor that applies with full force within the crew. You are never to backstab your crewmembers, you are not to leave them in trouble if you're able to help them without risking too much (like with your life, or with other crewmembers, or with the ship). We can only survive as a team, so we have to work as a team and keep that in mind every single day of our pirate lives.
- Backstabbing people who aren't in the crew is generally frowned upon unless it was for a good reason (as in, saving your own hide from something serious). But this rule is more of a guideline, really.
- No alcohol. I am not kidding with this. We have a sailship and as part of the crew, you're expected to partake in sailing, in rough weather and hot days and cold wind and less than solid ground to stand on; in other words, you're expected to pull your weight. Can't do that when drunk. Rum is only allowed when we're docked and it'll be up to you to make sure that you'll be able to stand on your own two legs by the time we set sail again.
- You're expected to keep your weapons in constant working order. Your Cap'n will not be amused by the 'it's rusty so that I could give my opponent tetanus' excuse.
- A fifth of your loot belongs to the ship, as in, goes in the housekeeping pot to buy food, fabric, rope and the like. Think of it as paying rent. (Yes, we buy our supplies. Looting can't be trusted in this question, who says this nice galleon on the horizon has the bucket of tar we need, and why should we risk our lives trying to find out when we have shinies and people don't ask inconvenient questions in Tabloid Town stores?)
- You're not married to the crew, which is to say, you can come and go as you please and won't have to stay aboard the Weewoo to stay in the guild. You won't get any benefits while you're not in active duty, though. (Benefits meaning a share in loot, compensation for battle injuries, a pension plan, et cetera. Pirate crews were very well organized in that question, mind you.)
Ranks in the guildQuite frankly, ranks don't mean much in this guild. Initiative is encouraged so long it's not harmful to the crew, but the ranks themselves are mostly there to have someone to make puppy-eyes at when you need help with an issue. Mind you, however, that if you get a command from a superior officer, you're not to bark back. Be reasonable and your officers will be reasonable. (One of the big important universal truths of life.) Captain: Huntress The supreme power. All decisions pertaining the route, tactics, plans, the most important decisions, and so forth. On most ships answers to the ship owner; as we're a pirate ship, Hunty doesn't answer to anyone. Quartermaster: Goosh A rank that in this form exists only on pirate ships. Basically the head and spokesperson of the crew. Responsible for discipline, has the right to veto the captain's decisions except in battle and chase situations. First mate: Zylaa Mainly in charge of the navigation, both in the actual route mapping and maintaining the course during sailing. Also responsible for cargo distribution: making sure that the ship is equally weighed. Ever since I lifted Zylaa into this rank from the second mate, she also maintains a bit of the second mate's duties (overseeing the cargo and the like) as our ship isn't actually big enough to need a second mate. Boatswain: Ikkin The housekeeper of the ship. In charge of maintaining the supplies, knowing where everything is, knowing what we're about to run out of and need to get more as soon as possible, things like that. Swabby: Keng Keeping the place clean, quite simply. Although since Keng is currently suspended, the task has probably been extended to the boatswain. In either case everyone in the crew is expected to have a hand in the cleaning process. The Weewoo is our home and none of us has an excuse to slack off in keeping her nice and liveable.
Notes: Rider, the former captain, currently has no official rank, but is the owner of the ship. There is no position of a helmsperson, because most of the time Hunty is at the wheel herself. The position of a cannoneer is currently vacant, but everyone is expected to know how to operate the cannons.
Current muster-rollI'm copying this one-on-one from the old musterroll and weeding out the ones who haven't been active to any extent. If you're on the list and want to rejoin the crew, all you have to do is ask. Everyone else has to apply on this thread. Huntress Zylaa Ikkin Keng Goosh Speck Jina Nasuella Caylista

Outside the musterroll but still as de facto parts of the crew stand the various companions that wouldn't be caught dead being called pets. They include but aren't limited to Hunty's and Rider's meepit gangs, Zylaa's weasel army, Shiva the demon horse, and the blarf, who's our official kraken.

Past Pirate Roleplays - SummariesThe Pirate Guild's roleplay history is somewhat sad (and at times downright embarrassing) to look at, but they've come a very long way over the time and coming through embarrassingly short and plot-lacking RPs is the only way to emerge from the mists of time as a leviathan of epic textwallish roleplays with thorough plots, ongoing storylines, and bad metaphors. As a result, they might sometimes look fairly intimidating, especially if you're new to roleplaying and/or this forum and/or consider yourself less of a writer than any other creative kind of person. The trick is to bear in mind that we have all started somewhere and nobody will hold it against you if you don't know everything at first. If something remains confusing, feel free to ask and bear in mind any pointers other guildpeople give you. Godmoding is generally frowned upon, although sometimes it's necessary in order to drive the plot and break it out of general stalling. Initiative is encouraged and it's generally expected that you drive the plot somehow with each of your posts. But the main idea is still to have fun, so they're more like... guidelines, really. 1st pirate RP - The Official Pirate RP
Took place in Neopia, Krawk Island, in a tavern where the not-yet crew of the White Weewoo came together one evening and decided to commandeer the big cruise ship by the docks near the tavern. The Lost Desert man-o-war, formerly called the Cloud, renamed as the White Weewoo once under the black flag, was taken over in a heroic battle and sailed off towards Mystery Island that same night. On the road, the crew met a small ship that was battled, defeated and looted, and a ghostly ship that was very quickly run away from. The crew spent the night in a tavern on Mystery Island, got in assorted small troubles, and a mysterious map to Geraptiku was found. Along the way there, an odd storm consisting of many waterspouts showed up, and that's when the roleplay died. Cliffhanger skillz, we have dem.
2nd pirate RP - The Official Pirate RP, Take Two
In a big deja vu, the to-be crew of the White Weewoo is in a tavern in Krawk Island and shipless again. Plots to commandeer the Weewoo were forged and carried out, and the roleplay died again.
Between this roleplay and the next, the first Guilds' War took place. Quite frankly I don't know what part the pirates played in it because I didn't keep up. But it wasn't very significant. Hrmyes.
3rd pirate RP - Pirate RP - Post GW
The show started with a peaceful game of Random Crap Poker (and we now own J. K. Rowling, did you know that?) At one point a mysterious map-scroll is bet, and everyone begins to wonder what it contains. Kat offers to translate it, but it takes time, and before it gets done, the crew meets another ship, HMS Judgment. The Weewoo took significant damage in the ensuing battle and may have lost if another ship, the Underdog, manned entirely by satyrs, hadn't showed up. The Judgment escaped and the Weewoo landed in a nearby archipelago for repairs. That night, Cyborg and Evie attempted mutiny and were sentenced to be marooned on the same nearby island. As the crew was low on housekeeping money at the time, they decided to go to land and dig up one of the older loot chests. However, it turned out that the loot had been stolen, so they went to explore the island in hopes of finding someone else's old loot, or at least something of general interest (like a cool foreign disease). After some tracking, the pirates found an Ancient Ominous Temple riddled with boobytraps and discovered writings that suggested that the temple was home to an ancient spirit of a monster the natives used to sacrifice humans to. After many boobytraps and vengeful spirits, they came to a mirror that was in essence a portal between the real world and its reflection. The reflection hosted a big furry monster that broke through the mirror and turned out to be rather friendly. Still hoping to find a treasure, the pirates carried on and found a whole chamber full of gold (whoever said persistence didn't pay off? Or was that stubbornness?), the entire race of furry monsters that became known as blarfs, and the guardian of the treasure, a Mary Sue (generally counting as a demon sub-species). The latter was defeated, the blarf-race was freed, and the crew took a very anticlimactic (but very sensible) hike just as the real danger, the all-powerful monster spirit of the temple awoke and began to gather ominous clouds above the entire island. Oh, and we got away with loot. Win. Except in the end, Keng fell asleep and got the majority of our loot stolen, so she was kicked out of the crew for the time being.
3.5fth pirate RP - Side-RP - The Curse of the White Weewoo
A completely non-serious PotC parody RP meant to fill the brief period of time between the last Pirate RP and the upcoming Guild Wars 2. Consisted of the crew discovering one night that they've all become cursed pirate-zombies, together with the blarf. The RP didn't last much beyond that.
Between this and the next RP came Guild Wars 2, in which the pirates played one of the key roles. They ahem, acquired an old mystical gem created by Leraye the demon alchemist, gave the White Weewoo a spiky black makeover that gave the ship the chance to protect itself, backstabbed an entire army of former guild pirates that'd been stuck in that gem, and were backstabbed by Leraye, leading to a quest for vengeance and redemption.
4th guild RP - Redemption
The first pirate guild RP that takes place in collaboration with another guild, the Spacefleet. It's set after the events of Guild Wars 2 and begins with the pirates having captured Cyborg in the recent war in order to trial him for mutiny and the crimes against the crew in the war. He was sentenced to death and executed. The crew then headed down to Tabloid Town in order to gather info on Leraye. At the same time, the Fleet was conducting tests on the bike of TMC, the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse who has time-bending powers. The pirates discovered that the most thorough info source on Leraye can be found in the Spacefleet moon base and decided to resurrect Cyborg and send him there to collect the info in order to spare themselves from any possible trouble this might bring. The crew went along to keep an eye on him from some distance. They got the money from an eccentric scientist named Merpo and promised to fetch him a classified notebook from the moon in return. At the same time, the world's demons have rallied a campaign against the humans because they believe that Leraye is being held hostage. The Fleet HQ was threatened by a demon attack, further complicated by TMC's bike throwing in time leaps, Leraye showing up in person, and a Fraze/Hunty whirlwind romance of slightly hurricane-ish proportions. In the end, however, most things got sorted out and the pirates returned to Earth... unsure whether or not they may have opened up completely new problems to deal with in the future.

O-kay, dearly beloved, time to draw this guild out of the mudhole of inactiveness and textwallish loreposts. This may be the board for gathering info on the past of the guild, thank you in advance for participating, but this particular thread is meant more to concentrate the central activities of the guild and focus on all the oddball stuff that doesn't warrant its own thread and so on and so forth. I think all upcoming loreposts will get their own threads anyway (should revive the draw-a-blarf thing, come to think of it)
My point being, the ninjas have sent out a kind of testing-the-waters PM to see if anyone's interested in an upcoming collab RP with them. While I've always thought that the pirate-ninja relations have been sadly underdeveloped ever since the guilds began and could really use something exactly like that, the behemoth named Redemption has just ended and I don't have high hopes about any of us being able to keep up with yet another behemoth for another nine months - and GW3 would start either within that time or very shortly after.
But yeah, that's my sole opinion. What's the crew say?

I have a question Hunty. Am I still in the Pirates kinda sort of? Of course not with Cyborg. But if I am, due to the new rules...I think I'll make a new character.

Not with Cyborg, but you're in the guild, yeah. If you think you can keep up with more characters, feel free. Or you can maintain Cyborg as a kind of outside-the-crew force. Considering how all upcoming guild RPs are likely to be less restrictive in terms of one-guild-only participation, it wouldn't change much in essence, and conflict inside the guild would only make things funner. In other words, there's this difference between the narrative within the guild and the actual guild status.

I would indeed like some more ninja/pirate fun, particularly if it involves fire and their dojo, but we have just finished up Redemption, so maybe something a bit more lighthearted is in order? Maybe a tournament-style thing where we find some random arena and have individual duels? And then there can be a casual roleplay of people watching, shopping for souvenirs, furry animals stealing anything shiny, etc.

I've suggested that before Zylaa, but for any guilds that wanted tp participate, but no one has said anything of it.

I'm testing the waters for Spacefleet and so far no one is biting there. I personally am still burnt out from Redemption and not quite ready to launch into another one. Besides, Keng just inherited months of out of date paper work. She's not going anywhere soon.

I've suggested that before Zylaa, but for any guilds that wanted tp participate, but no one has said anything of it. If memory serves, you suggested a roleplay-based duel tournament. No wonder nobody was interested, you suggested it near the end of a constant year-and-a-half-long roleplay marathon >> I still have plans for a karma tournament, but it's been hanging off my drawing and general lack of time. For pirate vs ninja stuff, I'd love to have contests of some sort, but I really think we'd need to find some other medium that works. Karma, dice, creative challenges, something like that. It's actually mostly the narrative we're missing (face it, we don't have any logical reason to feud, minus that backstabbity issue in GW2, but we all have that issue with everyone else, so I'm not sure how much water it'd hold xD) In other news, the guild shop wars are about to start, your Cap'n strongly recommends you to go sign up, I mean, it's not compulsory or anything, nothing like that, but if you don't help out, your Cap'n will not be happy, and you won't like her when she's not happy, see? >> (A little longer and I'll end up combining all my forum personae into one xD That should be... interesting.)

Alrighty then, consider yourself hired. The salary's an equal share of net loot, plus bonuses for any time you do something remarkably courageous in battle, getting temporarily or permanently incapacitated in battle leads to a temporary or permanent pension salary, except it doesn't cover injuries you yourself may get while working in the galley, so watch out with that fire, we're on a wooden ship, and do not, I mean do not ever touch the water barrels in the galley, that's the holy right and privilege of the boatswain and ignoring that rule can easily lead us all to an ugly death, so the least we'll be able to do in that situation is send you to an ugly death first. All clear? Good ^^ You'll still be sharing the galley with Joe, he'll show you where everything is, I'm sure you'll get along nicely. There's a spare hammock for you somewhere in the forecastle, someone will show you where they are. Deeeees-missed.
...I should've stuck with that part-time gig with bossing the mercs around. Heck, whatever's happened to the mercs these days?

Hmm... I like the offer! Done!
Wait... does Joe fart? Because if he does... I think we'll be a perfect match.

He's a meepit. If he does, I don't think anyone notices. And if you ruin the air in our galley, you can be sure that I'll turn a blind eye while the rest of the gang mobs you.
