Goosh frowned and stared at the passage ahead. "I'll be careful," he said slowly. "And I'm not doing any good standing and cowering here, am I? And if there are traps ahead, you'll know by my screams how much it hurts and in what capacity." He looked at the Meepits. "I wouldn't mind a Meepit or two if they don't object. I'll mark which passage I'm taking, in case there are any forks. And I'll draw arrows pointing to any booby traps." He produced a small white rock he'd found on the beach, and scraped it against the wall, producing a small white mark. He looked at Hunty, holding eye contact. "I'll do it."

" You'll do it but not alone. Hunty I'm going with him." Cyborg stated. " He'll need more help than a couple of meepits. Cus ..... well it's Goosh, no offense Goosh."

Huntress grimaced. "Suit yourselves. I'm just hoping you're both aware of what you're getting yourselves into."
She bit her lip with a frown. "Lessee now. Nova, you and your necromancer skills..."
"May be good and all," Bloody Mary snapped at once, "but she ain't going. She's unstable. And we need her here, with the majority and the two wounded crewmembers."
Hunty squinted at him. "You guys are anarchists, it's not up to you to decide."
"In Nova's case, it is, 'cause she isn't an anarchist," the meepit declared with a vague grin. "If you want something useful for them, let's see..." he scowled, twisting and turning the sentences in his head. With all the anarchy and leaderlessness, one had to phrase anything order-like rather carefully. "Boom, you're a doctor. And Justice, you're a good thinker. Either of you got anything against accompanying those two?"
Boom, who was, truth be told, one tenth doctor and nine tenths experimental pyromaniac, but nevertheless the best the gang had to offer, shook his head. So did Justice, frowning vaguely.
"Don't count too much on them," Bloody Mary warned, looking up. "We're survivors, not heroes. We defend our own kind, but aren't willing to die for anyone else. I'll probably run up to check with you every once in a while, or send someone else if they're willing, but other than that, good luck and have fun."
Huntress nodded in agreement. "What he said. Think of them as advisors and assistants, not bodyguards. Go on then, and be careful."

Goosh nodded. "Thanks, guys," he said to Boom and Justice. "He turned to Cyborg. "Let's go." And slowly he began to make his way into the shadows.

Huntress watched as they disappeared into the shadows, then sighed grimly and turned to look at the crew. Her eyes were calm again, and almost back to their usual greyish color. And filled to the brim with cold determination.
"Awright," she said. "Since we now have that little troop to clear the way and scream whenever they encounter something lethal, I see no point in sitting here. Let's move out. I don't want to let them out of hearing range - guys, I want another torch, go fetch a few - and I don't want to split up either. Thanks." She picked the torch up and spun it around a couple times, as if it was a weapon which needs to be gotten used to. The flames stretched out in a blazing circle, spreading clear yellowish light across the passageway for a moment, then it faded into dim flickering again.
"Someone take the other two torches," Bob grumbled from the floor, holding up the heavy torch. "S'not like we're walking candlesticks here."
"Okay boys," Bloody Mary commanded from Hunty's shoulder, "go pick Kat up. She needs to be kept an eye on until she's on her feet again, and as much as I know mages, it might take a little while. Nova, how're the spirits doing?"
"Keeping their distance," said the female, sidling under Kat's shoulder.
"Good. Well then, let's get this show on the road, chop-chop and tally-ho."
When the distant voices reached it, they weren't much more than intermingling echoes, bouncing to and fro between the stone walls. Not that it really cared. It edged on curiously through eternal darkness, sniffing the air, taking in all the information the trespassers produced.

Keng, seeing that the meepits now had Kat, picked up Dragon and put her onto her back instead. She would be on all fours for this task, which meant picking up one of the torches had to be done with her mouth. She eyed the flames carefully worried that her fur or hair might catch fire. This also meant she couldn't talk so instead she nodded and followed Huntress and the blue gang of familiar terrors.

Zylaa leaned over and picked up the torch, ready to follow the crew, but cast one last look back at Goosh and Cyborg as her crewmates dissapeared, straining to see past the shadows- and her foot hit a protrusion on one of the stones. Click.

As the click sounded everything suddenly happened in slow motion. No, really, slow motion with deep voices and choppy motion blurs and everything. "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Zzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" cried Keng as her ears pricked in painfuly cheesy slow motion and she lunged forward to push Zylaa to the floor, her fur waving in cheesy slow motion and her mouth looking all weird and skewed from her slow motion 'No' and Dragon appearing to float just above her back as she fell forward in even slower motion than the slow motion diving Keng. In pathetically slow motion a spurt of flame seeped rather than burst from the wall and the noise it made was deepened and rediculously drawn out like Keng's speech and as she moved forward and the flame came out especial attention was given to how close the flame came to catching Keng, Dragon and Zylaa in it's path as the werewolf made the over-exagerated collision into Zylaa until finally the slow motion was cut and they went back to normal speed. This whole thing should have taken two seconds at most but thanks to the slow motion effect it took a long and painfully cheesy five minutes to get through.

Goosh slowly took a shuffling step forward, eyeing the gloom carefully. Suddenly, a burst of fire exploded out of nowhere, exposing something sparkling against one wall. The Yurble caught it in his peripheral vision, but was too horrified by the flames to think about it. Time didn't move in slow motion for Goosh, rather a quick moment when his fear and shock threatened to stop him there in the tunnel. The fire stopped. "H-h....hello?" He called out.

(XDDD) Zylaa wondered, briefly, why it was taking so darned long for the fire to come out, and gave Keng a long, puzzled look before the collision.
Time returned to normal just before Zylaa hit her head on the stone with a resounding crack. "Yowch!" She sat up, rubbing the back of her head. "Thanks," she told Keng gratefully. "You... you saved my life." But then she realized that was the dialogue for the cheesy romantic sequence, so she hastily added, "Although you probably could have done without the special effects."
She heard a voice call from the tunnel. "Goosh!" she called. "You okay?"

Goosh looked himiself over. "I'm fine." He squinted into the darkness. "What about the others? Keng, Kat, Hunty, Dragon?"

"Kat and Dragon haven't changed in status. The rest of us are fine." Keng called back. "What about you? Anything interesting yet?"

Kat stirred, and looked around, her eyes coming to rest on a few Meepits all around her as her vision cleared.
"Hey," she whispered hoarsely, "what's going on? Sorry...if I drifted off...it always happens..."

Goosh was glad to hear that everyone was okay. He looked at the wall in response to Keng's question. "There's something sparkly, but I can't make it out. Looks almost like glass, but that doesn't make sense." He turned to the Meepit on his shoulder. "Can you make any sense of it?"

Justice whimpered quietly, leaning forward and straining her eyes. She gave a quiet 'eo!' and listened to the echo.
"Clear solid surface," she said hesitantly, "could be glass, or ice, or diamond, or a mirror. Or polished metal, even. You think it's safe to go and take a closer look?"
The last question was meant for Bob 'Squeaky', who grunted to himself. "Well, nobody lives forever. Take that torch over here, will you?" He skipped over the stone floor, his brow furrowing.
(Goosh, got any plans for the sparkly thingy? 'Cause if not, I just might have an idea.)
