Tips on How to Make Forumer Cards
I-Guy here, just back from checking on NTWF TCG's Card List. I'm a bit intrigued by how the Forumer Cards were made, so I've done a bit of a research myself and have come up with some tips on how to make Forumer Cards.
But first, the basics. Like I've said a while ago (a really long awhile, in fact), a Basic Forumer Card is the same as a regular Fighter Card, but with the ability to "power-up" into more powerful Fighter Cards. Everyone can make their own Basic and Powered-up Forumer Cards, but they are only allowed to have one each for their persona. You wouldn't waste that, right? So listen to me and I'll give you some recommendations.
First of all, a Basic Forumer Card has ten points to be distributed among HP, attacks and Special Powers. Now, many people have followed the tradition of putting 5 HP, a 2-Damage attack, and a 3-Damage attack. I'm not being totally negative about this, but that kind of distribution does not last very long. Cards falling under this distribution normally are placed only on the Bench until they are either Powered-up or forced to come out as the last Fighter on the Bench, severely hindering the efficiency of its two attacks.
Be creative and reasonable. For example, Omni has 7 HP and a 2-Damage attack that can escalate to a 3-Damage attack with an added Energy Card. That extra Energy Card can be used when Omni powers up, so it's not really wasted. Once more, Omni's 7 HP gives enough juice to last for more rounds. Of course, the inverse can be equally threatening, like Jina. Her 4 HP puts her into hiding for a while, but with the right Energy Cards, she can instantly KO most Basic Fighter Cards with her 5-Damage attack. These two cards both reflect their respective owner's style of playing. Create the Forumer Card that suits your style.
For your Power-up Forumer Card, many people often mistake making a Rare Powered-up Forumer Card into thinking that it's more powerful than an Uncommon one. While that might be technically true, it only gives their opponents the reason to eliminate its respective Basic Forumer Card right from the start. Also, those five added points don't really escalate the power of the card that much. Lastly, there are many Event Cards that can track down Rare cards, so following a Rare Powered-up Forumer Card will only place you into the firing range. I'd really recommend making an Uncommon Powered-up Forumer Card for beginners unless they know what they're doing.
For example, Spoonguard is an Uncommon Powered-up Forumer Card, but its 12 HP quickly puts it among the league of the Rare ones. Its 4-Damage attack is reasonable enough, and it can act as a meat shield for other Spoons in play, even when it's on the Bench. Energy Tentacles Vyt also lies under the Uncommon type, but with its 9 HP and a healing move, it can function as a life-saver especially when opponents tend to attack Benched Fighters.
Of course, there are some Rare Powered-up Forumer Cards that are done well. For example, Scarven, Agent of Chronos may not have any damage-causing attacks, but it can really hurt your opponent's retreating strategy. Also, its attacks are meant to inflict status effects on a Fighter before switching out for free, giving even a weak Fighter Card a definite advantage. Commander Strife has a Special Power that can nullify any Event cards targetting him, and can deal damage depending on the Energy Cards attached to him. Also, his Execution card not only give him possibly more Energy Cards than allowed on a turn, but can also save a dying Fighter from being KO'd.
