The first DLC character has been announced From Persona 5, Joker. This marks the first time Atlus has joined Smash, but not the first Altus game to appear on a Nintendo console

You might call me a cheater for this but...
I struggled when fighting Reflect Ganondorf. My character was Link. After about 20 fights, I fell off the ledge and Ganondorf followed me. He used Up+B first and then I did right afterwards. Neither of us could get back to the stage, but Ganondorf died first so I won. XD

Nintendo just released a new ad for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The reason why I'm posting it here is because if you look closely two seconds in, you can see that Nintendo accidentally reveals a feature that will (presumably) be coming with the Version 3.0 update. That feature being Stage Builder. Also, don't forget that Joker is due to be released this month as well. That, along with the above leak on Nintendo's part gives me the feeling that we'll likely see a Smash Direct sometime within the next few weeks.

Yeah I figured that feature was going to come sooner or later.

Wow, forget about a Smash Direct; Nintendo just dropped a whole video with no advance notice. Basically it goes over how Joker functions as a fighter, his stage, Persona music tracks, and Spirits. Mii Fighter costumes and Stage Builder are also discussed, as well as a couple other features. Both Joker and the Version 3.0 update will be available tomorrow.
It's pretty comprehensive and contains nearly everything I would have expected from a Smash Direct. The only thing it didn't have that I was anticipating was an announcement of the second DLC fighter. But I think that's probably E3 material, so we might hear something then.

It's actually nice to see Persona 3 and 4 get some representation (via the Mementos stage, the music tracks, and the Mii Costumes). Smash Ultimate marks the 2nd time those games have appeared on a Nintendo console ( Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth for the 3DS, to be exact)

Played Joker today along with the new stage. Joker is real fun to play XD I won every match I was in with him (offline and online). Downside was I didn't know how to do half of his abilities until I watched a video on it later after we were done playing... So next time I should be better I think.
The level is real fun, probably one of my favorites now.
Also, we went hunting for created levels... Some are terrible, some are bad, and some are actually good. And some are just weird.

In the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Championship that was held today, Sakurai confirmed that the next DLC fighter will be shown during Nintendo's E3 Direct on the 11th. Keeping my fingers crossed for the bear and bird...

I am beyond overjoyed that Banjo & Kazooie FINALLY made it in! I adored Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie as a kid, and I can already tell that Smash is doing them justice. I don't care how good or bad they end up being as fighters; they're gonna be my new main. Apparently, I've been hearing around that their inclusion was actually a very easy deal to make because of Nintendo's good relationship with Microsoft. Not to mention that they even got Grant Kirkhope himself to work on the Spiral Mountain remix, in addition to some other tracks. I'm really eager to see what tracks get included and even which ones get new arrangements. (Gruntilda's Lair would be a safe guess for a remix, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Treasure Trove Cove, Atlantis, and Hailfire Peaks)
So about the other character:
There had been a leak concerning the Dragon Quest hero being in Smash floating around since before Joker was announced, so this was totally expected. Another thing to keep in mind that Dragon Quest is HUGE in Japan and has a long history with Nintendo, so the series was well overdue to get a representative. Anime swordfighter or not, Dragon Quest did deserve to have a character in Smash. (Me, I'm mostly ambivalent about him; I've never played a Dragon Quest game in my life) Also, this is the closest we're ever going to get to having Goku in Smash.

First part: I heard the map rotates and stops at different places to. So the stage sounds fun. Part 2: Yeah Dragon Quest is huge in Japan. It was one of Final Fantasy's rivals until they were both owned by the same company XD
My friend and I both think he looks like he shares a lot of things with Robin almost in his fight style.
Also I like that the alternate colors are just the different heroes. I've only ever played Dragon Quest 8, so the fact I can play that hero instead of the others is nice to me. (plus the Hero from 8 looks like Gohan with a bandanna on XD Especially in that game when the hero goes super, it's basically Super Saiyan XD) All in all, would rather have Part 1 first and Part 2 second in the release schedule... But either way, I'll probably play them and try them out when they're released XD

There will be a 22 minute presentation this Tuesday (July 30th) at 6 AM PST / 9 AM EST where Sakurai will be going into an in-depth look at The Hero.
I think we can expect The Hero to be released within the week. 22 minutes does seem like a long time to focus on just one fighter, though, so I wonder if there will be some other stuff that Sakurai will be talking about too.

It was interesting to see him playing the game himself during the presentation.

Heads up, guys. Nintendo made a whoopsie and accidentally leaked... well, not so much the identity of the fourth DLC character, but the company they belong to. So be careful where you go on the internet if you want this sort of thing to remain a surprise. Now, to be specific: Apparently at some point earlier today, Nintendo's webpage for Challenger Pack 4 included a trademark for SNK Corporation. So while they didn't name the character or their home game specifically, the trademark does at least narrow the possibilities down.
...That being said, I know diddly-squat about SNK games or any of their characters, so my feelings about this are a resounding, "Ehhhh."
Still, though there are still characters that I'm keeping my fingers crossed for, I can't really complain THAT much after finally getting Banjo and Kazooie after waiting so long for them. The next character could be Bubsy for all I care, really. (That's a joke, and not a hint towards the above leak. )
