... Poor Kit. That has to hurt. Ohh, places where it's not just pirates and ninjas. I volunteer to be murdered in this story. ...Aren't you going out on a limb by calling Kit "he"? All I know is that I had to listen to Crystal cooing about Kitten (who I assume is Kit?) for a week so he needs to die painfully. Aw, Kiddo/Crystal is so cute. >> << *flees*

Is it too late to be expendable?
...That is a very weird question, isn't it?

All I know is that I had to listen to Crystal cooing about Kitten (who I assume is Kit?) for a week so he needs to die painfully. Yeah, that'd be Kit. XD I would've paid to watch that, too... In my defense, I wouldn't have cooed quite so much if Kiddo hadn't been so ARGR;LGHSLDBGVGVRIGH!!! about it. xDDDD I think I still have the voice clips over MSN where he/she asked Kiddo to marry him/her, and Kiddo replied by saying something very painful about swords.

Oh come on, Kiddo/Rider all the way. Kiddo could be a polygamist though, I suppose. That would solve a lot of unneccessary 'ship wars. Poor Kit. D: But Kiddo/Crystal makes more sense! They've been friends and partners for years and all, while Kiddo and Rider have the whole ninja/pirate thing between them. It's like some sort of bizarre dynamic which will eventually... ... ... Actually, you're right. Let's convince Kiddo and Rider to come to the same place, and when they're standing close to each other sprinkle them with the pink Valentine dust.

The figure stood stock-still on a hillside, her clothes ragged about her so that only a skirt belted with leather and a faint top covered her otherwise bare torso. Her hair was tied in woven braids that were steadily coming loose, held back out of her face only by the strip of leather tight against her forehead. She had her hands spread away from her body, fingers splayed, and faced the land before her. The greenish-tinted spear was stuck point-first into the ground, the feathers buffeted by the coming storm.
For the storm was fast approaching. This was not one that heralded the Hunt, however. It was something entirely different.
The end was near.
Crystal almost couldn’t bring herself to step into the burnt circle. The sky hung low over their heads, an oppressive greenish sky that simply did not belong in the Gray Lands. PFA seemed unwilling to speak, not knowing what to say to his leader. And around them circled the wolves, silent, crawling low at the very edges of the circle. Waiting. Their eyes glowed and it was hard for PFA to name what color it was. It seemed to shift, like trying to catch one own’s reflection in a mirror.
The ninja finally took a deep breath and crossed the circle. It flared up beneath her feet, red embers twining along the spiral like a snake until the very altar itself glowed, bathed in red light.
“I’ll take that as a good sign,” Crystal said, “Kiddo was always very in-touch with the phoenix concept. Fire is good.”
And she approached, almost reverently, and lay the remains of Kit’s heart onto the altar. Stepped back. And it burst into black flames and dissolved, leaving nothing behind. For a moment Crystal simply could not breath. Her lungs were stuck in the shock, the unfairness of it all! The wolves… it had worked for them… but no!
“NO!” Crystal shrieked, “I didn’t kill him! I didn’t! I-I-I….”
And she subsided into hysterical sobs while PFA remained on the edge of the circle, unsure of what to do and wildly confused at the glowing ball of light that had just rose from the altar.
It hovered there, sparkling, until finally Crystal looked up with a tear-streaked face.
“Kit…?”
She reached out, as if to touch it. But a furry mass was between her fingers and the ball as one of the great wolves leapt forwards, hit the altar, and with a snap of its jaws caught the ball of light up and swallowed it. For a moment the wolf crouched there, its fur shivering with light as its form grew larger, its fur changed colors, the streaks of brown turning lighter into pale cream and gold, and its eyes went white. Then it threw back its head and howled, a cry that sounded like multiple voices all blended together, and bounded back down off the altar again. The fire of the circle vanished, leaving behind the faint scent of ash and sandalwood. The wolves were leaving, the pack streaming behind the great one that now seemed to be their leader. Crystal staggered to her feet.
“No!” she screamed, “You can’t – don’t leave us – YOU JUST ATE MY BOYFRIEND’S SOUL!”
And that was the report that was given to the moderators and other involved parties. Crystal was unable to deliver it in person, as she was in the ninja HQ, mourning. PFA managed to relate just the facts and was then dismissed. About half the moderators were gone, having trailed Kiddo to her slow walk back to the Gray Lands. She seemed to be thinking about something and any attempts to get her to talk had only resulted in her turning away from the person or staring blankly past them, into the horizon.
“I don’t know what to do anymore,” Stal finally said after writing everything down onto his whiteboard, “Aside from smacking Kiddo in the back of the head with a fish and demanding answers.”
“Already tried that,” Huntress muttered.
“What?”
“Yeah, we’re down to only three pirates trailing her now.”
“What happened to the other two?”
“They’re the ones that smacked her with the fish.”
“And?” Stal prompted.
Huntress sucked at her lower lip for a moment and then confessed.
“Kiddo leapt on the one that did it and tried to tear his face off with her bare hands,” she said, unnerved, “So another one of my crew tried to pull her off and wound up with a feral Kiddo on HIS face. They’re recovering.”
“She attacked our members?” Tdyans asked in disbelief.
“Eyup.”
There was awkward silence across the room.
“Okay,” Nimras finally said from the back, “I have no idea what has happened to Kiddo out in the Gray Lands. I bet she’s lost it. I mean… her muse is attacking her? Her lands are decaying? I don’t think we can even begin to comprehend what has happened. But what about the wolves… they seem to be a key to this and not in a bad way either.”
The wolves had been at the back of everyone’s mind and the room was glad to turn to that topic instead of the current one. Stal quickly circled the word on his whiteboard.
“I mean, it’s not part of Kiddo’s typical imagery,” Nimras continued, “Which makes me think they may be an outside factor by the Gray Lands itself. It’s taken a mind of its own before! It created the Angelis Luci. If Kiddo’s muse has gotten out of control then perhaps the wolves are a creation of the Gray Lands, made to bring things back to control and back to the way things should be.”
She took a deep breath.
“I think we need to side with the wolves. Let Kiddo run her course… but whatever the wolves do, we follow and support them.”
A couple people scuffed their feet and coughed awkwardly. This was not something that sat comfortably with anyone. As far as anyone could tell Kiddo was preparing to enter the Gray Lands again and possibly confront her own dying world and the muse that lay within it. No one knew if she would win. No one knew what would happen. Abandon her… that wasn’t the way of the NTWF. But on the other hand…. Nimras had a point.
“I want ninjas shadowing Kiddo,” Patjade finally said, “just a small handful. They are not to be seen and are not to interfere in any way unless to save someone – even Kiddo from herself if need be. Otherwise, everyone to the Gray Lands. Seek the wolves. Dismissed.”
The voice drifted along the mist, carried with the tendrils that seeped throughout the NTWF. Never had the Gray Lands carried so far. With Patjade’s warnings fresh in their head the members clustered in groups, listening, wondering for what the siren call was. Why the Gray Lands crept so far from where they belonged, creeping along the ground and carrying with it the song.
And a handful saw a figure, a woman, carrying a spear, striding into the billowing mist that swallowed her up, following the song with her eyes fixed straight ahead. A warrior looking for the battlefield upon which her match would finally be found.
“Follow me, oh bard,” the voice sang, a female’s voice, “to the places of old… Where the fires lit up the night. Follow me, oh bard, Where the stories were told… and the dances have all gone to die.”
Oh yes. I need to know who wants to follow into the mist. And what your allegiance is: pirate, ninja, etc.

I'd almost say go ahead and send me across, but I don't know if you've already got something planned for me or not. <.<;
So I'll just keep my mouth shut and have you abuse my character as you see fit.

I want to go frolic with the wolves. >.>
As far as my alliances go, mine is to the NTWF as a whole -- I'm not a member of the Pirates, Ninjas, Mercenaries, Mages, or Spacefleet.
