It's pronounced Ka-oo-ah-ee.
But a lot of people slur it to say "Kawaii" since that's how it sounds when you pronounce it fast.

Oh, and anime really doesn't have an accent in it. It's a Japanese "word", actually. Which is why the e is pronounced as they "a" sound. Although technically it's pronounced "Ah-nee-may." Ah, neemay! How are you doing?
