I wouldn't mind a little bit of darkness (ie Jeran dying) but it wouold just make me sick all over again at how pathetic the NT restrictions are. But I'm not going to get into that. Yes, kids DO know stuff. I was six years old when my first guinea pig died. *huggles picture*

I agree with Mera, Jeran rules but so does Kass, I'm torn between the two. I'm leaning towards Kass though because I still have issues of Jerran serving a corrupt ruler. Erm... But Kass is worse because since the orb is broken he has no more reason to attack Meridell since they can't give him anything (speaking of which, why isn't Meridell a blackened wasteland because the orb shattered?) and he should have learned from Dari's mistakes. Darigan even tries to warn Kass not to follow the path he took, so Kass is either: A. A moron B. Corrupt and evil C. Does not understand plain english

I'd place my money on B, but I love him anyway. ^_^ I was probably the only person who was very pleased with Darigan winning. I started out on that side, so I wasn't one of the people who switched for points.

Or maybe he's just doing it in exchange for the threesome granting his powers

[glow=red,2,300]In "The Adventures of Lisha and Jeran" I hypothesized that they were created by a girl named Hilary. (random name. Has nothing to do with Hilary Duff.) Anyway, I agree. I wouldn't mind a bit of darkness on Neopets. And kids aren't as ignorant as people claim they are. I was 3 when my dog died. I'm with GLQ on this one. Jeran's wonderful and I love him to bits, but the good guys don't always go home in one piece and happy. It would be wrong to say they do. [/glow]

I'd say B but I wasn't on the site when the Meridell war took place, I saw all of the plot and I still supported Darigan even when I knew he became evil. He had an excuse, what's Skarl's?

[glow=red,2,300]Ignorance, maybe? I think he's just this nice old king who was really concerned about the well-being of his people, so he got a magic Orb for 'em.
What he did was wrong, but he had good intentions. Then again, the devil's road is paved with good intentions. [/glow]

Hmm, I've been thinking. What if Skarl goes into battle (like a true ruler should) and dies. Then possibly Jeran if he doesn't meet his end ascends the throne. That would be a ruler I wouldn't mind. Or once the war is over Lisha tell Jeran she's his sister and they go back to their own time. After all, Jeran doesn't belong there.

One thing I never did quite get about the original Meridel plot: when we go to the Medieval land, are we taking a portal to the past? If so, why don't we arrive at the same point in the past every time we go, therefor making it so that we live the same day in Meridell over and over again, and would never have seen the different stages of the war? And how do we get back to the future/present? Jeran obviously doesn't know of any way, or he wouldn't have stayed for as long as he did. But then, there are a lot of things Jeran doesn't seem to know (most notably about Lisha being his sister) so it could be he's just a little dense. Or is it that Lisha's (plastic) wand of ultra nova somehow merged the Meridell of the past with the Neopia of the present, making the two one? And wouldn't that throw the whole time space continuum into disarray? And wouldn't Neopian historians know everythings that's going to happen? And isn't anyone worried that this whole meddling with the fabric of time thing could create some sort paradox that could destroy the universe as we know it?

I still don't like Skarl instead of Jeran dying (if at all) it should be him. Take a fall for your country Skarl! PLEASE!?

[glow=red,2,300]Well Skrarl has to be kept semi-safe. He has no biological heir, and if he dies, there would probably be debates about whether Jeran deserves to rule or not. After all, he's a foreigner. So basically the stability of the country depends of Skrarl's life.
Somehow, Ember, I don't think that Rod was plastic. was it?[/glow]

It sure didn't act like it, but I still maintain that there is no way that a. a kid like Lisha would have gotten a real RoUN b. she would have been allowed to take such a powerful weapon to school c. other kids would engage in play fights with someone carrying a real RoUN... The list goes on. It was just one of those things in the original Meridell plot that didn't make sense.

If so, why don't we arrive at the same point in the past every time we go, therefor making it so that we live the same day in Meridell over and over again, and would never have seen the different stages of the war? Honestly, I thought the same thing too! It also means that if Meridell is in the past, then it at one point was destoryed (perhaps the war?). But, if the war changed history and brought it back, then how was the world as a whole affected? THEN you also have to take into account that if Meridell is in the past, then was the land of Darigan in the past too? All in all, if you kept walking around Meridell, could you travel around 'past' Neopia? I dunnow. While she was in 'normal' (theres an oxymoron...) neopia, I belive it was a toy, but once she was in Meridell it turned real. All of the kids seemed to turn into what they were dressed up as (Kaelia, I think her name is, can now pratice magic. Boris is a vampire. Morris is still pretty lame, so that makes no difference).
